I'm 45 in a few months, can you be perimenopausal at 44? Periods regular as clockwork
You can defo be peri at 44, it's not even really early as the "normal" range is from 45. Lots of people are peri for 10+ years and there are usually many signs before periods change. Worth getting bloods done though to rule out deficiencies in things like B12, iron etc though.

Have read a few things now about Cerazette and it making women go mental (I think I’m in this category). I’m about a week into my current pack - I can’t get a docs appt, does anyone know if I can just stop taking it? Or should I finish this pack? Been on it a year, Cerelle before that and I just lose my mind every now and then. Would like to rule this out as a cause before exploring anything else as I’ve seen quite a few women have the same experience. Thank you ☺
Cerazette and Cerelle are the same, I get either one on my repeat, depending on what chemist I collect from

Oh yay. Another period. I think I’m running at every ten days now. Pissed off and grumpy.
Speaking of memory, called my aunt this week (she’s in her 70s) and she told me she’d been referred to the hospital for some tests. What for says I. What then followed was about thirty seconds of her uhhming and aching down to phone as she wracked her brains and finally said ‘my memory!’ My sides hurt we laughed that much.

Has anyone used anything successfully for vaginal dryness - oh my lord it’s driving me a little bit insane

Not tried it but there is a newish product that I seen a few months ago on Instagram that is aloe based, it is called WooWoo. I would assume though that pure aloe would go the same thing

I was prescribed sylk by the GP but there are other lubricants available.

However, be aware of vaginal atrophy so maybe look up the symptoms and make an appointment with your GP as you may need some estrogen in the form of HRT.

Thank you - I've just panic ordered a couple off amazon to try so they get here tomorrow. I've recently started HRT and its helped so many symptoms but I think the fact its helped my libido has made this issue worse!!!! Will def have a chat with the HRT nurse about it in the new year - feels like everything is being put off till 2024 now doesn't it!

I’m not on HRT but I just looked it up and it does say vaginal itching is one of the side effects of HRT.

The HRT used to treat vaginal atrophy is a low dose one.

So after having hormonal migraines pretty much monthly since 2017 (age 43) they decided to start coming fortnightly. Doc put me on Amitriptyline which seems to be helping. Only side effect of it is dreams EVERY night, though I can live with those if migraines eased.

Holy tit new symptom unlocked. I have the period from hell and a pain in my left armpit thats agony. Currently sat braless with an ice pack under my armpit. Apparently a peri symptom to do with hormones and lymph nodes.
This is NOT fun.

Hey I'm going through a medical menopause so am in a good few groups on Facebook that have provided good information. I'm.just starting my journey but the below options seem to be tried and tested.

Yes vaginal moisturiser is good and was recommended by my oncologist. You can get on amazon in a tube or in a pack of small tubes with an applicator. The big tube is more cost efficient. They sell various other products too.

Replens is a similar product.

A lot of ladies use organic coconut oil.. you can also buy pre-made suppositories but might need a panty liner!

Vitamin e capsules are meant to dissolve if you insert into your tina. I haven't tried that yet tho!

Also sea buckthorn is a supplement that's meant to help but might take a few months to work 😊

Don't know if this is perimenopause, I suspect it is with my age. But what about breast pain? Like unbearable breast pain. Where a bra hurts? Some days its one boob and then another its both? They feel so full and heavy and it's making me so miserable I could cry. Every time my little boy cuddles me I recoil in pain with it. When I'm on my period it's fine.
But there must be some releif surely? Any tips I'm at a loss!!!

I just want to say, I feel you 😞❤.

I’m getting 2 periods every five weeks (with a week between each one) and my boobs are agony most of the time unless I’m on my period. I can’t stay asleep past 4/4.30am and my cluster headaches are off the scale. I’m on cerazette (for over 20 years) because my periods are horrific without it.

It’s just as well I trashed my hamstring and can only spin instead of run now because I think running would be impossible with this pain.

I’ve been to the dr (I’m 43)- no problend apparently. So my body just wants me to feel like this then?

I sympathise. For me, it’s probably the worst part of peri. It’s been 3 years now. I wear a Fitbit now and on average it works out about 5 hours a night if I’m lucky. It’s exhausting.
One night last week I actually got 8 hours which was wonderful. The only change that night was that I had been to the coast and sea air always helps me sleep. I may need to move! 😜

I've mentioned it before but I was having breast pain, just the right one which convinced me there was something very wrong. The GP referred me to the breast clinic and thankfully everything was fine. The consultant recommended evening primrose which totally worked - no more breast pain! Has helped so much with joint pain and definitely sleep better. I also take Boots' own women's multi vitamin
