After about three years of a shortened cycle (going from every 30 days like clockwork to 24-26), I'm now on day 35 and counting - not even got the usual spotting I get for a few days beforehand. I'm really crossing my fingers I'm into the final leg of peri now!

How do you get rid of the little nagging voice in the back of your head going 'What if you're pregnant?' It's absolutely vanishingly unlikely, I'm 48, I had my tubes tied 20 years ago and Mr F was thoroughly tested when he and his ex were trying to have a baby and told that even with the best medical help available he couldn't have kids, but there's still that tiny, tiny worry. Just buy a bulk load of cheap pregnancy tests??

I’m currently going through the ‘could I be pregnant’ stage as I’ve now gone the longest time without a period during peri (97 days) but my stomach is so bloated and I keep feeling movements in my lower stomach like you do when you’re pregnant 🤦‍♀️

I’m nearly 56 but even google tells me some women have had natural pregnancies at that age 😳

Why not do a pregnancy test? Could you be pregnant?

I'm on day 177, no sex for 18 months so definitely not pregnant.

How is everyone’s skin?
Mine is so itchy. I scratch myself silly at night. It’s like I’ve got eczema. Spots all over my arms and legs. It’s awful.

Not itchy, but I've been getting spots and I haven't had those since I was a teenager. Also been having hot flushes on my face and neck, which is new for me.

No I doubt I could be pregnant but it’s how the mind works making me panic that I am! I have no pregnancy symptoms. I have gained weight though so no wonder my stomach is so big 🙈

I have had this a few times. It’s quite common in peri. I’ve got very dry skin and really dry eyes.

Omg my eyes are so dry and my skin folds are soooo itchy. Has anyone found anything that helps - drops and lotion making minimal difference here

I use this spray (cheapest on Amazon).

My Optician did recommend some drops but I can’t remember the name now but when I looked them up they were pricey.

I’m suffering with dry eyes esp first thing in the morning when they often stream for an hour or so. Having been for an eye check just recently, the optician recommended Thealoz eye drops- they come in eye drops which can be applied in the morning and eye gel drops which are thicker and applied last thing before going to bed. They don’t resolved things completely but do help.

Is anyone else getting words mixed up? Like I'll be talking and another word comes out instead - related, but not the word I wanted. I'm really worried that I've got early onset dementia. For example, I was talking about contact lenses and I said liquid rather than solution.

Another example - I typed 41 into a text instead of 40. I didn't even notice until someone mentioned it. And I had 40 in my head when I was texting. Didn't even notice I'd put 41.

I'm 45 in a few months, can you be perimenopausal at 44? Periods regular as clockwork

I do but it tends to be when I’ve slept badly. I get a lot of night sweats that wake me up a lot in the night.

Also I think peri brain is similar to baby brain!

Yeh I've not been sleeping great at all. I woke up boiling hot last night and laid there for ages trying to get back to sleep

Yes my memory is appalling. Don’t worry too much. If you had dementia you’d probably not even be aware you have memory problems.

My worrying one was a few weeks ago. I use the same first word for Wordle and have done since the start. A couple of weeks ago I had no idea what the word was. It was about 5 days before it came back. Strange.
It does concern me because my mum has Alzheimer’s but as I’m aware of it I think it’s just peri and lack of sleep.

Thank you! I've been stressing and thinking I've actually got dementia. It's really quite scary.

It is. My mum has no idea she has dementia. She was told when she was first diagnosed but obviously she can’t recall. We don’t tell her anymore, there‘s no point. She’s not even aware she can’t remember things. Perhaps it’s kinder for them that they don’t know.

Yes I think it is just peri as sometimes I look at someone I know at work etc and their name won’t come into my head. I get a lot of blanks and I also keep forgetting where I’ve parked my car when out shopping! I put all mine down to lack of sleep.

The most embarrassing thing happened to me. I was out running with a group and passed another group of Women walking, 1 of whom happened to be someone I hadn't seen in years but always got on well with. I hate running so when I saw her I thought how much I would prefer to be walking with them but as I ran past and my friend asked how I was I blurted out 'much better than you' It was literally the opposite of what I was thinking.
If it's any consolation things do improve although my brain isn't back to it's best.

I've started taking a photo of my car with a shop or whatever in the background so I can find where I've parked 😂

Have read a few things now about Cerazette and it making women go mental (I think I’m in this category). I’m about a week into my current pack - I can’t get a docs appt, does anyone know if I can just stop taking it? Or should I finish this pack? Been on it a year, Cerelle before that and I just lose my mind every now and then. Would like to rule this out as a cause before exploring anything else as I’ve seen quite a few women have the same experience. Thank you ☺
