Probably because of this chat, and then listening to an old ep to get to sleep. It was one of the isolation tapes - Elis is talking about r-rates and whether or not it was safe for the childminder to have the kids while he went to work. So strange listening to it - it felt like I'd gone back in time. I forget how grim it was at times. I genuinely think they made it a little easier with their extra episodes, though!

Those isolation tapes are some of the best podcasts ever made. Are they still a good listen 'post' covid?

Had a little search in my podcast app
They’ve done RHLSTP together and separately.
John has TMUW and the queen podcast.
Johns been on cuddle club (3 did this together) and nobody panic.

It was the bit where John said he was talking to Lou of ways to make quick money so they could by a huge house together for loads of people to live in …there was no mention of a love shack😂

I gathered from the conversation it was one of those ‘If you won the lottery what would you buy’ sort of thing

ETA they then went on to talk about the Live Love Laugh saying!

I thought ages ago that they were lining up Lou to come in as Elis missed a few and they were really pushing her for a bit (I know some of you are fans but for me, not in place of Elis).

Elis obviously has other things he's involved in and it just got me thinking if this Great Reset could be the official way of making changes?

There's no risk of this. It is still being billed as the 'Elis James and John Robins Show' :)

Yeah, i've never really listened to any of the XFM episodes - I only discovered them when they had moved to the Beeb. But I keep meaning to give them a try.

Anyone listened to Elis' new history pod? I'm really enjoying it.

Reddit seems to think a comedian / me too? Russell Brand and Walliams both mentioned in the thread I saw...

Could also be a 90 minute show on why John is not more successful...

my own father is an alcoholic and addict, and over the years quite a few of the things HR has said have made me assume he has a problem with alcohol. The Barry G TMUW ep was one of these occasions (I found it pretty upsetting to listen to, really). I know JR has had extended breaks from the booze before, so I wonder if this is another break or he’s giving it up forever? Either way, I’m so pleased that he seems to be happier. He’s definitely shagging Lou though with all that spiritual chat. #shaggingtruther

yes, I know I’m talking about a podcast but it’s the only one me and my FTBF listen to together. I know people who have been on it. I’ve loved the music. The guests. Everything. RIP TMUW.

It's a shame but unsurprising, as you say. A few weeks ago, there was an insta post and he made a very passing comment about the pub closing soon so I did wonder if an announcement was imminent.

And yes, Jack Monroe. Take note and pause your effing Patreon!
