Yeah, I think so (Ivo posted something on insta on valentines day and shes got a few posts about him) and I'm sure she's previously dated Acaster. Though I'm not sure if he and Ivo are mates or just mate adjacent.
Aww that’s lovely. ❤
She did go out with Acaster - he had a breakdown when they split up (he’s talked about it openly). I’m pretty sure they are mates - they seemed pally on that off menu live episode I mentioned the other day.
If you haven’t watched it, I’d really recommend you do. It’s too funny

So, it's going to be two podcasts per week, but no live show! Just best bits of the pods broadcast where the show used to be :(

That's a bit sad - it could just be any old podcast in that case. Ah well, I'm sure there are reasons...

Hahaha, half the show was them talking about it being a VERSATILE FORMAT with a nod and a wink to the supposed commissioners in the audience. I do think it would work on TV - perhaps if they started it on Dave, like with Taskmaster, until it's a bit more polished and has built up a following. Ellis playing Beta Bet was predictably hilarious and catastrophic. I could watch them play that game alone all day 🤣 😍 .

Just to confirm, I love Ivo! No shade thrown, just funny seeing him (possibly) adopt/exaggerate different personas in different settings. (Sidenote: I could be wrong but I'm not sure someone with a full-blown stutter would put themselves forward for Just a Minute).

I know what you mean about go fund me type posts.
The Matt one is so totally different.
A lot of people are facing hard times right now. I see the same faces posting a lot about being broke etc in the main / sub groups and i don’t even use fb very often at all. Maybe because we have similar interests and they seem to be in all th same groups saying the same stuff.
Once one is posted it opens the gates for more. No one is obligated of course it it does change the vibe.
It’s hard because you want to be supportive but then people feel bad they can’t give to all and so get themselves in trouble possibly.
This was. A much longer ramble than anticipated 🙃
Ramble away. Agree with everything. Nobody’s having an easy time right now

I did enjoy LS more with Elis than I do with John, but I think if she was less scatty I would enjoy listening to her more.

In other news, I really liked this week's Davina and it's brought a rapidly failing feature back ok track.

I take it we have all seen the clip of John doing his press ups on the 5Live insta?

I don't think so - imagine the chaos! My feeling is they are great friends but not romatically attached. I have no evidence to back this up, just what their personas are like...
I do get where you're coming from, but he definitely mentions her a lot more than the lovely Robin who he is one of his great friends and shares a podcast with, so is kind of in his interest to talk about him more. That bit on the latest pod ep has swung it for me. and she bought back treats from her America trip.

I'm sorry but I am going to need some evidence to consider your point further 😜

Unless you are John and/or Lou trying to throw us off the scent 🕵️‍♂️

(I say all that in jest)

Hey! I'm a comedy geek and I'm not 100% sure but I *think* I found out about through Josh Widdicomb's old XFM show - either they filled in for him or were mentioned at some point. The first time I listened was quite early on but I got the impression it was about football and didn't give it a chance. Tried it again a while later and was hooked!

I got really sad when we thought it was getting cancelled so I weaned myself off and haven't listened to many on 5 live. I definitely need to fix that!

🍉 I was once on the 5 live show once talking about how I've never touched my own belly button. Elis said it was his favourite phone call of all time and Naga Munchetty did a show about it!

I think the whole WhatsApp situation perfectly encapsulates the worst part of the PCD group: the entitlement!!!!

Hi everyone, are you on email?

I started listening after Elis was on the Parenting Hell podcast and very affable and amusing. I was almost a retro oner but I'm relistening to the Radio X years because...the past feels reassuring.

I end up listening to it more than feels reasonable - I put it on in the car with my toddler because podcasts are so unpredictable for swearing. She calls them 'mummy's silly men' 🤣. But if anyone else has any swearing free podcast recommendations, I'd be grateful. They don't have to be child-appropriate, I just need to not be nearly crashing on the M4 trying to turn it off because someone's randomly dropped a C-bomb.

@Slop n slide That's a really solid made up game!

As I said in the bad place, I couldn't deal with the Facebook group. There seemed like plenty of good eggs, but also a level of emotional fraughtness that I just couldn't deal with. It didn't have a very live and let live attitude? I felt there was a friction between people who felt they were true PCDs and saw others as Bigger Boys who had joined from 5 Live? ALSO! I didn't really care for being told things weren't something Elis and John would approve of. Bit weird? I just like their radio show, I don't think I need to align with all their thoughts and beliefs. (Sorry, that was a bit long, I haven't had anyone to tell about it, and it actually caused me some angst for a little while).

I apologise for using align in the previous paragraph too, I'm working late and work me is an absolute corporate wanker, apparently.

I would be MORTIFIED if anyone suggested setting up a GoFundMe on my behalf, for something I bought which then broke.
Money from strangers. I know lots of people have no money (I'm not exactly rich myself), but do they also have no shame?

Also, someone bought a car with 6 month warranty, 7 months ago, and are just finding out that the expired warranty is useless?!! WTF?!
Same! I would be mortified to ask my own parents/husband for money never mind a bunch of strangers on the internet. It’s so weird to me and it is WILD how often it seems to happen. I get that people feel like a community but it’s just people who listen to the same radio show as you.
