100% agree, he comes across so bitter sometimes - it's quite uncomfortable to listen to at times. I've listened to the podcast since the start & i dont plan on stopping, but Rob has definitely changed. To say Glastonbury is cringe when he knows Josh really likes Glastonbury, grow up. Wish Josh would call him out for being a grown man wearing mickey mouse ears on his (free) holidays

I choked on my coffee when Josh said the bit about not getting fucked til you're sore - I wouldn't have batted an eyelid had it come from Rob but I think he was quite shocked at Josh too

I think Josh and Rose come across as really solid.
I mean, I doubt he’d come on the podcast and air their dirty laundry anyway so I guess I’m just pulling that opinion out of my arse, but they just seem to have a similar vibe.

Ahh I still love the pod! I think the opinions on here are quite harsh at times. Yes they’re in a privileged position with their careers being high paid and flexible but they’re still allowed to be tired and find things hard. Who wants to listen to a podcast of Joe bloggs working a 9-5 and struggling to juggle paying their mortgage, nursery fees and maybe getting to go on the odd holiday. I live that every day I don’t want to hear about it twice a week on a podcast

I’m with you - their moans and groans don’t bother me at all.
The only thing I seem to get annoyed by is when Rob nags Josh or uses him as ‘joke’ content when he just comes across as a bully (he seems to be better at this lately though)

I’m behind as always so only just listened to the apology to Rose ep. I’d like to be mad at Rob’s comments about people working from home on Fridays but I have hung washing out on the line, got my eyebrow lady coming soon, sainsburys coming and then the school run this afternoon
However I don’t think I’d quite get away with slacking off to watch an afternoon comedy gig

I see both sides of this argument, but I do think people deserve their time off ‘work’ and to spend it with their families without interruptions. I wouldn’t like to be having family time and getting a constant stream of phone calls from my job, although I appreciate the circumstances are a lot different! Children aren’t little for long, and it might not be two minutes, it might happen multiple times a day. And if he entertained it, his girls might grow up feeling like they don’t matter to him, when clearly they do.

Not podcast related but I really think their Smart TV show is underrated - probably one of the best panel shows I’ve seen come out in recent years.

All the guests seems to be having a good time, which is definitely not always the case in every show

Agree with everyone that’s already been posted. I used to love PH and listen to the episodes the same day they’re released, never missed any. I’m just not as interested anymore. The guests aren’t any good recently and Rob has also started to do my head in. I also don’t wanna listen to an episode all about Disney after seeing it all already on Lou’s stories and showcasing how much money they can afford to waste on fucking cups. Boring.

Rob and family do tend to go away every single school hols. And he says 'that our thing that we spend money on' ... right well good for you Rob but its also my thing - I just can't afford to do it!! But i expect your thing is also having 2 lovely new cars, living in a 6 bed house, and having total financial security. That is fine - you are fortunate, you are lucky, but check your privilege. you are allowed to be tired and stressed but please realise that we all suffer that without the massive upsides that you have. He's taking his kids to Australia and Japan with him on tour. What an experience for them.

He clearly knows nothing about the reality of owning a pony (muck, graft and more muck) … it’s a great challenge and responsibility for any child who is interested in equestrian sport. I would argue that flying (business class) for 5* holidays several times a year is instilling a level of expectation and privilege in his children. Now fair enough perhaps we’d all do the same but he’s the one with the massive working class chip on his shoulder. Can he honestly not see it?

Lou (and Rose) get major brownie points from me for not selling their kids souls on insta like so many others do and I bet they get plenty of promotional offers. I think Lou has her head well screwed on with regards to the girls… I couldn’t see her for a second indulging any interest in them blowing loads of money on cosmetics at their age.

It was funny to begin with, especially where the other guy denied saying a word about it in Josh absence. . But, in true Rob style, he ALWAYS takes it too far and it becomes unfunny and borders upon bullyish and boring . .
I bounce between liking Rob and not, this week was the latter 🫤

I've just listened to the Joe Lycett episode. I've never been a fan, but he came across really well, and I really enjoyed it. It was nice to listen to one where they actually asked some parenting questions.

If it's just an elongated version of her ranty blog then I'll give it a miss. (Full disclosure, I don't have kids, so it's not aimed at me - but if I like someone's writing style/voice then I'll read anything - or at least listen to the audio book)

As others have pointed out, she's the default parent largely because her husband makes enough so that they can live a very comfy life without her having to work. I'm not saying that it doesn't make it tiring or draining - but surely it cushions it?

It'd be much more interesting (in my non-parenting opinion) to hear how it is to be the default parent when you're both at work/have as much on.

I'm also not sure I even like the phrase default parent!
