I haven't listened to Tuesday's ep yet but I feel like they both, but especially Josh, just say "I'm so tired" when they don't know what else to say, or they feel like they've said something a bit daft and then just quickly follow it up with how tired they are.

I have a child who hasn't slept more than 3 hours consecutively for over 3 years and I've been there for every wake up, and I don't mention that I'm tired half as much as these two do.

Rob and family do tend to go away every single school hols. And he says 'that our thing that we spend money on' ... right well good for you Rob but its also my thing - I just can't afford to do it!! But i expect your thing is also having 2 lovely new cars, living in a 6 bed house, and having total financial security. That is fine - you are fortunate, you are lucky, but check your privilege. you are allowed to be tired and stressed but please realise that we all suffer that without the massive upsides that you have. He's taking his kids to Australia and Japan with him on tour. What an experience for them.

I think they need to prepare a little more for the podcast. For the Tuesday episodes, they should just come with a couple of bullet points of things they want to talk about or have happened to them.

The episodes I find the most difficult to get through or annoying are the ones that feel like they don’t have anything to say - and just say that they’re tired.

I don’t even care if they’re talking points are something that annoyed them on their luxury holiday - but only if they’re funny about it.

Tbh, 80% of the podcasts I listen to are by people who have more money than me or who have “better” lives than I do, so I can’t stop listening just because of that.

My biggest annoyance is listening to Josh talk about how his kids behave when they eat out. It sounds like they run riot and him and Rose just let them get on with it. I know they'd be that family that everyone else in the restaurant would be rolling their eyes at.

I agree with this. If you're listening to a podcast done by celebrities, then of course the lifestyle is going to be different.

Totally agree - my favourite episodes of late have been the ones where the have a theme or focus like playground shaggers (even if some of the stories are of questionable origin/truth) or bad parent behaviour, rather than an unstructured waffle where they both go ‘I need to talk about X thing but I’ll do that next time’ or Josh has to say at the end of a story Rob interrupted that he’ll come back to it on another episode 😂

There have been some moments in those when I have genuinely had to try not to laugh out loud in public… the tall police officer bit stands out as a recent one. There is still some gold. Maybe twice a week is just too often now that they are both also back up to their normal work schedule after lockdown?

I'm from a totally not posh area but a few of my friends live in quite an expensive part of the country. Whenever I'm visiting them and go in the shops/restaurants there I'm horrified by the way some of the parents let their children run around. Very much feels like middle class/posh kids can run riot with no consequence but if working class/poorer kids do then everyone is up on arms about it.

The issue is, they try to sell themselves as 'relatable', but for the most part, they aren't. They have rich people problems and have lost touch with their audience. I still find the podcast hilarious and I would be sad if they stopped it, but dropping the 'sexy and relatable' tag would be wise.

I always took the sexy and relatable thing as a joke and that it was actually a poke at how unrelatable they could be? Or how contrived some people are about trying to seem relatable?

Exactly this. It's a joke that's been going since the early days.

Them having money and the lifestyle that comes with it doesn't bother me at all, I happily listen to tales from their holidays because ultimately kids are kids and families are families - that's where we can all relate. Doesn't matter if your kid is being a tit in a tent on a soggy field in the UK, or being one in a luxury villa in Marbella - it's always going to be stressful in some way.

I genuinely love them but as someone else said, they need to check their work/life balance privilege. The majority of their audience are undoubtedly working parents and with the exception of the teaching profession don't get to spend all of their kids school holidays together (and teachers have to deal with children so they deserve their holidays 😂)

They're very well paid, get to pick and choose what work they take and WHEN they take it. If that means they work non-stop for a month or two then so be it. Other people work non-stop shifts and don't get the bonus of a long luxurious summer off work.

Lads. Give your heads a wobble.

Funny because I usually hate the guest episodes and enjoy the Tuesday ones but a few recent guests - Brooker, Dommett & even Ivo a bit despite the stress - have been much more listenable than the tiredness and complete lack of self awareness on Tuesdays.

I do think it’s the lack of awareness of the privilege. So you have worked for a few hours last night, got up for a run and done two more hours and now you’re going back to bed?

In a weird way I kinda find it funny when they bang the tired drum. Makes me feel like I'm absolutely bossing my single mum of 3 life and just see it as a bit pathetic 🤣

I've never heard of George Egg but quite liked him, especially the lucky dip story! I can't stand food noises however so the sound of Josh eating made me feel sick 🤣

George Egg is also the guest on this week's Off Menu. I haven't listened to that but found this week's PH a bit boring on the guest front. Maybe I'll give Off Menu a go and see if he's more interesting.

I used to really enjoy the podcast especially during the end of Covid where I was doing a lot of solo walking to train for an event But I now find it almost unlistenable to (if thats even a word!)
It should be re-named Pathetic Parenting or Passive Parenting. Both couples seem unable to say no to their kids or parent in a way that in general your kids should fit into your lives not having everything molded to them. They have such more time management and Josh in particular seems to be constantly juggling things while his wife is in Cornwall playing at interior design. You have the money, get a nanny or adequate childcare.
And don’t get me started on the I’m so tirrrrrrrrrreeedddddd

1000 percent agree on the Nanny. Rather than get her to MOT the car the one day shes there….. get her in more often to ‘Nanny’ the kids!

I think this all the time… just get a nanny/housekeeper! Christ knows they can afford it. Their stress levels would decrease dramatically if they get a good nanny full time. As someone who used to nanny it just makes sense to me! But I guess they would think it’s ’not Relatable’ for the pod.

He was also on Jessica Knappetts podcast this week, I didn’t listen to it but he’s obviously doing the rounds😂

I actually stopped listening to the pod a while ago when I was going through a hard time and I just couldn’t bear the moaning. I was wondering about going back to it now that things are better for me but it doesn’t sound like it’s any better. I also felt like Rob in particular was so boastful about his new house and lifestyle and he kept moaning about how rough boys at parties were etc compared to his daughters. I have two sons and I hate that narrative. I agree that boys in general can be more active and rough and tumble but it’s not always the case and the way he went on was just too much.

Maybe I’ll dip into a few of the better celeb episodes and see how I go as I did really enjoy it before and would look forward to listening.
