The UFC fighter was actually a pretty good ep I thought, even though it’s not my thing at all. Came across like a good guy and found the chat about his autistic son interesting.

I love Rob on the pod and on Rob vs Romesh but weirdly not that bothered about seeing his stand up - however I will be definitely trying to get tickets for Josh!

I'm the exact same. Give me clean shaven (or stubble) and a nice tidy haircut every day of the week.

I have a playground shagger story but I don't think my husband would want me sharing it on the pod.

His ex wife was shagging a dad from school and when he found out all hell broke loose and there was a playground confrontation and fight. Much to my husband's eternal shame.

Very early in our dating life he'd told me about it because it tied into a bigger story of his ex's addiction and the general chaos that entailed.

On one of our earliest dates we walked into a city centre pub (neither of us lived in this city), sat down next to a couple and noticed Husband go very quiet. We'd bought drinks but he downed his, told me to do the same and then hurriedly left. I was confused. Turned out the bloke in the couple we'd sat next to was the bloke he'd given a pasting to a few years earlier in the playground. They'd both clocked each other but obviously didn't know what to do!

Oh no, your poor husband.

I don't find the interruptions too bad but that's only because he's nowhere near as bad as Tom Davies on The Wolf and Owl Podcast Romesh properly tears into him when he does it, he's a nightmare for it. Rob is almost mild in comparison

I wouldn’t mind one bit. Apart from being jealous that I wasn’t there bur seriously I would definitely have encouraged him to go. If we win it might be the only time we do in his lifetime!

Oh I completely agree with that second paragraph; I mean there was SUCH a massive buzz around Scotland because we even qualified for them this time around, a few of my mates went over to Germany for the week and stuff so I do totally get the buzz around even being part of it.

I just think if they win they'll be too unbearable

Who? Who will be unbearable? Lifelong football fans who have waited their entire lives for their country to win a major tournament? Just Imagine if Scotland were in the final. I doubt the Scottish fans wouldn’t be acting any different to how the English ones are right now. If it were a Scotland vs Spain final, I would be cheering my head off for Scotland to win.

Just like I imagine most of you been watching The Traitors (no spoilers here!!) but it got me thinking Claudia Winkleman hasn’t been on the pod has she? She would be a brilliant guest! Get it sorted lads (unless I’ve forgotten all about!!)

Agreed!! I think they have very different wives and family set ups so that sometimes causes a bit of tension with some of their stories!
Really noticed it on this weeks episode about World Book Day.
Lou is definitely the pta type mum who doesn't work and spends a lot of time on those types of things whereas I think Josh and Rose both work so find those types of school requirements difficult! Rob was clearly offended when Josh was moaning about World Book Day and it was funny trying to listen to them both back track to not offend the other!

I find myself agreeing with Louisa regarding silly uni courses. I know so many people who have degrees in utter nonsense and have never gone on to work in that field. The degrees are fine of course but I don't believe tax payers should be funding them.

Everyone that takes umbrage over that viewpoint usually has a nonsense degree!

I hated how they all spoke over each other and I wish the interviews were once a month.

Tax payers aren’t funding them - free university education and grants to live off disappeared 25 years ago. (No I don’t have a nonsense degree - maths).

To rectify the fact that from March to August last year, there was one woman.

But between jan-march there was 8 women and 2 men.. Not going back any further but don't really get what the problem is?

Half the guests they had on during the middle part of 2023 were shite (George foreman springs to mind) but I think they've pulled it back a bit over the last few months. Excited for romesh again on Friday (his wife is involved too)

Definitely. I loved how supportive he was of Josh when he’s had a few bad times, and also how open Josh is about that too. They are really good role models. I’m glad they’re not alone.

My husband and his friends will talk openly about their feelings to each other but you rarely see or hear it in the media, in such a natural way.

I enjoyed today's pod. Like Josh I've been a huge fan of Frank Skinner since I was a teenager think I was about 14 when I first saw his stand-up on late night Channel 4.

I think this one was more comedian to comedian chat heavy, I don't think Rob gelled with him as much as Josh did (Rob did a lot of long rambling questions).

I was shocked to hear he's 67. Logically it makes sense, but I just always assumed he was in his 50s!

There was a point where Josh said “shall I tell you about my euros weekend” and Rob flat out ignored him and spoke over him. I really think Rob is hilarious but he definitely tries to dominate sometimes which is grating.

When they have guests, Rob often jumps in and basically paraphrases what the guest has already said. Sometimes he’ll add a (crap) psycho-analysis or try to explain how the guest feels for them. I think he wants to appear intelligent but it comes across rude. Josh is the better listener.

I still love the podcast, it’s my favourite but just some observations.
