I don't think he has ever revealed his age but he also was trying to promote something a couple of years ago about how he stays looking for so young, was probably some scheme or vitamins or something.

He seems to treat his daughter as like a problem to be solved all the time rather than an actual person.

Yes I was pleased Josh said something! I also find Rob a bit annoying with parenting, he seems to almost lecture Josh. The cooking thing (as if no one had made sausage rolls with shop bought pastry before 😅), the mother in law story (which was actually just an opportunity to say how he’d made his kids laugh). I still love the pod but I’d say one in three eps I find Rob a little annoying.

I love the fact that Rob is so emotionally articulate and happy to share it too.
I like this too. I listen to Elis and John (who are friends with Rob and Josh) and I find their normal podcast to be really mental health positive (as in they talk openly about it and seem to genuinely care about the other person and their emotions) and its so nice to hear men be supportive with each other and talk openly about things. They also have a "how do you cope" podcast where they interview people on how they've coped with certain situations too. Hopefully the more "lads lads lads" that can do it publicly, can help normal lads too.

Thought today's episode was such a refreshing change. Think they should put more time into finding different family set ups and journeys, even if it means skipping a celeb guest every so often. Much more interesting than that rugby guy...

So glad to have a normal episode back!

I always like when Rob recognises how fortunate he is to be able to take his kids on holidays, or he has supportive parents/in-laws that can take the kids for a few days to allow him and Lou to go away. Whether or not that's just for the benefit of the podcast listeners, but it is always nice to hear!
I think it's very much genuine because he's from a working class family/community and seems to still be close to friends from his younger days so he may see that he has a better deal than he would have done had he gone down the route of cabbie (following his dad) or similar work.

He often mentions (in fact he did in this ep) how he had kids very young in terms of being a comedian, but was late to the game in regards to his friends and family.

My only opinion on it as a gig goer... is that things said at gigs by comedians who do podcasts is generally considered "what's said on tour stays on tour", it's almost like you're entered into a secret club because you're there. So any reference to the children is a one and done situation.

That being said can we please move on, because it's definitely something they don't want discussed and this is a rave thread and I don't want them to in any way think it's anything but that.

There's so much negativity on tattle. I like our little big up the lads group (and the Elis and John one #IYKYK)

I'm Scottish and a Scotland fan (obviously), so I generally fall under the "hope England get beat" umbrella, but not because I'm unsportsmanlike but because the English media and English fans are SO unbearable.

Scotland kicked off the campaign this year, yet on coverage an hour before there were interviews with Gareth Southgate etc.

So I can take the Beckett going to Germany thing as a bit of a laugh all while in the back of my head REALLY wanting England to lose because they're all so sure they're going to win it that they're shutting shops early, comedians are moving their tour times (John Bishop), events are cancelling performers to change set times (Richard Ashcrofts) and people are leaving their holidays for a night. And for that cockiness is why other countries want them to lose spectacularly.

But equally the whole thing is ridiculous, a 6am flight back if they win is one thing, but if they lose? That's a depressing flight and you then go "was it worth it" kind of thing.

That all being said though, Robs stories are funny today which is part of what him going is all about I guess 😂

Also, topless napping with Lloyd amused me greatly.

I don't think we need to hear any more about the concert, there can't be anything else to say can there? I liked Josh's Girls Aloud anecdote, for such a huge Brit Pop nerd him being smitten with a girl group makes me giggle, little sweetheart ❤😂

Urgh a "best of" this week. I know they are allowed a break but I just don't understand "best ofs". Surely Michael can compile an hour of unused bits from the previous podcasts to keep us entertained. Some of us live by our Friday episodes ya know! (I'm a cleaner and my cleaning routine is tightly choreographed to my podcast listening!) 😂
I'd love a bloopers episode. I'm sure there is plenty slip-ups they could mash into on episode - that doesn't get them cancelled, or that still protects the privacy of their kids/guests etc

Rob clearly massively disapproves of the amount of time Rose is spending in Cornwall. He seemed incredulous that she had gone during half term.
I’m not caught up but this annoys me. He wouldn’t be shocked if it was Josh away. And on the heels of Lou saying she feels like the default parent maybe he should think about that. I know I’m getting deep here for a comedy podcast but I do hate this expectation…where the feminism eh!!!

Have I missed something about Rio Ferdinand? Why is it bad that Rob wants to be his friend?

Going back a few eps, a wee thing that niggled me. With the mum at the start being from Glasgow - of course they ripped the piss out of her accent, everyone always does, we’re used to it. But when Rob said he loves kids with ‘pronounced’ accents it irked me, as this suggests a southern English accent is the ‘standard’ accent and everyone else is pronounced/strong/regional/different. He’s very much centering his accent. It happens all the time and not a topic for this thread but if you have one of these ‘other’ accents be it Glaswegian, Liverpudlian, whatever, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Just a note Rob, to my ears your kids accents would sound ‘pronounced’ too!

Sean Keaveney - had never heard of him but really liked him, probably the most relatable interview in a while esp as I have an older kid. The things he was saying about screen time was so true.
Rio Ferdinand was cheating on his first wife for nearly the entire time they were married with various women.

Tragically his wife was diagnosed with cancer but even that didn’t stop the affairs.

After she passed he reinvented himself as the doting, grieving father and husband and won himself an actual BAFTA for a documentary he made.

Not long afterwards he remarried to a woman that may allegedly have been one of his past lovers.

He now acts like his previous life never happened and has gradually allowed his new wife to gradually erase any sign of the Mother of his children.

I've been having thoughts (feel free to ignore😄) and I'm projecting wildly so take it as you will!

Rob's just been diagnosed with dyslexia, he suspects he has ADHD (doesn't appear to want to get tested from me reading between the lines). This can really open up a lot of feelings in regards to the realisation you're not "just stupid" or "a bit much" you do a lot of self reflection and you can feel almost like you're grieving for the person (specifically the child) you previously were who was constantly made to feel less than your peers. It's hard to explain, but I went through the same and so much of your life suddenly becomes clear but also you get a bit cross that it was never your fault but you were constantly labelled "the naughty one", "the disruptive one", "must try harder" etc etc.

He's possibly going through a bit of a manic phase at the moment - he reminds me a lot of myself sometimes when I listen /see him on tele. I think it's similar to when Josh was depressed/getting sober. I think in a month or so he'll look back and maybe think "oh I was a bit much back then" but in the midst of it he's probably unaware. I reckon Josh, as a good friend of his, is his safe space to unleash on. Josh appears to take it in good humour.
I agree with this. I thought similar when he read out that poem he wrote as a kid about people telling him he couldn't do certain things. I think he wants it to look like the diagnosis hasn't bothered him, but I think something like that will explain so much from the past that it's impossible for it not to affect you in some way.

Sara Barron was so intense! Feel like she rambled on so much and they kept trying to talk / make a joke / change the topic and she just didn’t stop… I found her soo draining! The intro before her though was hilarious 🤣
I was the same. Hilarious intro went downhill when she came on. Frankly I wasn't a fan of how she spoke about her wee boy either. She kept trying to laugh off that he was quirky, and oh isn't he just a little Tom Allen kind of gent but I got the vibe she really struggled with that. Her husband sounded like he was able to embrace his individuality a bit more which was nice.

The over the top "I hope he doesn't go into the industry" as well and not taking him to the Masked Singer. Don't get me wrong I totally 1000% get not wanting kids, especially young kids, to become complacent about going to things like that or being in those circles but equally if you could give your kids those experiences once in a while, knowing they'd love them? Why wouldn't you?

Rob and Josh made a comment (and interestingly made the exact same one on the podcast today) about her plugging her podcast and how you don't need to plug it if your personality is enough but frankly she didn't make me want to seek her out or listen to her podcast. I just didn't find her particularly funny at all.

I’ve got ADHD and so have my kids. Everything’s an absolute nightmare to be honest. I’m sure Rob and his kids have got it and Josh as well. That’s why I like the podcast, it makes me feel like everyone else is in chaos too 😄

I agree, all Rob seems to do is interrupt. Whenever Josh is telling a story, Rob buts in and turns the conversation around to him. It's putting me off the podcast.

Oooh Rob with the gaming set up. Between the long hair, the Essex geezer vibe and now this, I fear my becoming Rob's second wife in the future is falling further and further away.

I know, I know. He'll be devastated.

I hear you although her situation is absolute extreme .
No one slates Josh’s wife who seems to be absent a VERY large amount of the time.
The kids appear to be with paid help ,in-laws or Josh’with’ the in-laws.
I do love both the boys but Josh is pathetic in his need to have someone with him all the time if he’s got his kids and ,his Mrs? just fucks off all the time!
If they were going to slate Josh’s wife shouldn’t they slate actual Rob or Josh first who can spend huge amounts of time away from their families? No one is saying they fuck off all the time. I hate the double standard.
