LOVED the episode today. Would happily have just them talking every week, with the odd celeb comedian guest who is one of their mates (ie has good rapport with them) like Romesh etc.

Oh yes, Tom is terrible for it! I still love both podcasts though and look forward to listening to them both as soon as they’re available!
Im a house cleaner and my weekly podcast listening regime is very important to me! I listen to PH first clean on a Tuesday and then Friday I do PH, SMA, Help I Sexted my Boss, then finish with that week's Wolf and Owl. It has to be in that order - I think I need help 😂

I think they decided to do bulk recordings to avoid having to do the "best of" episodes to cover absences. Seems to work better in my opinion,i can't stand listening to compilations of stuff I've already heard.

To be honest, I find these sorts of discussions quite tricky, because if you have kids with any sort of SEN or health needs, this stuff is much harder to say. I’d probably take a return to nappies over coping with my teenager’s mental health needs for example. On the other hand, I totally get that this isn’t relevant to most people and obviously the less hands on care a child needs, the easier for most people!
It’s just always makes me feel quite jealous I suppose that my parenting journey is quite different to others. That’s my problem.

There’s no real way to keep them private though. Think of all the kids that go to their school who know their names, those kids’ parents will also know. All the teachers will know their names. All the clubs they go to outside of school - kids and adults there will know their names. On the many holidays they go on people will hear them using their kids’ names. Plus he works with so many different people on different things.

Of all those people already mentioned, there’s a good chance they’ll mention it to friends/family, eg “my son goes to school with Rob Beckett’s daughter/we met Rob Beckett at Disneyland etc etc” and so an even wider group will find out that way.
Yes but that's no different to non famous kids. I think it's fair to not openly broadcast their names to the Internet and respect that choice.

Rose was working, maybe her renovation style is different to the people you know. Maybe she was matching the time that her friend/business partner spent there? Maybe she felt like it was easier to be there rather than trying to be involved over the phone, and didn’t see the need to be a martyr considering the children could be home with their dad/grandma/a babysitter.
Both Rob & Josh work away for periods for time, I don’t think I’ve ever read a negative comment on here about them ‘fucking off all the time’

Alison Hammond, great. I hadn’t seen or heard her on anything for at least 3 minutes before I saw she was this weeks guest.

Just read Lou’s fantastic blog post, god I love her 😂 so well put and I found myself nodding along so many times ❤
I rolled my eyes so much reading it to be honest. It’s hard to read about how overwhelmed a millionaires’ wife with two kids, lots of family support, money, and the odd weekend / night away thrown in is. It was like listening to Rob complain about how the seats were heating at the soccer. Ok, bring your daughter to see the match with her cousins then! Also, why could he not connect his crying about his daughter scoring a goal with him being proud of her? Is that feeling of pride so alien to him? I’m tired of hearing about how difficult he finds his status as a successful comedian. It is neither sexy nor relatable. It’s ok, Im un - watching the thread after posting this. I’ll see myself out.

We’ve come a long way from other comedians sharing the absurdities of parenting during lockdown, when everything was so weird and the podcast was a great vent to be on and listen to, to someone who has an 18 bedroom mansion and a team of staff and who barely mentioned her children. The last point probably just came out of the limited time for the interview but it didn’t reflect the reasons many of started listening in the first place. This isn’t the only interview that’s felt wrong though - any of them with someone who is plugging something, has clearly been told this podcast has a big listenership and happens to have had kids don’t really hit home to me.

Urgh a "best of" this week. I know they are allowed a break but I just don't understand "best ofs". Surely Michael can compile an hour of unused bits from the previous podcasts to keep us entertained. Some of us live by our Friday episodes ya know! (I'm a cleaner and my cleaning routine is tightly choreographed to my podcast listening!) 😂

Feel like it’s quite a different thing to learn his children’s names through an authentic interaction vs searching for or actively sharing their names on a gossip site…

She went to see Beyonce in Amsterdam for a few days with her friends. After a week in New York with her friends. Went to the Brits. Regular weekends away. Went to Disney twice last year. Buys new outfits for the kids and puts them straight into suitcases. Has admitted she does not cook. Has a small family. Throws elaborate birthday parties for the kids. Yes, the parenting struggle is same but her down time and financial freedom is considerably different. My recuperation time is a drink alone in the local coffee shop, not a few days abroad with friends. This is not a working/non working parent argument, this is a rich versus not rich comparison of being the default parent. She has time to read!!!!! It reminds me of this from Salma Hayek. https://www.dailyedge.ie/salma-hayek-parenting-1376245-Mar2014/ yes, I said Id unwatch the thread, and I have, but so many people liked my post that I hope today Mothers’ day no one is feeling like shite because of her blog. Don’t assume Lou is ‘just like us’ default parents. She is not. Her car broke down last week; she could 1) call her father and 2) call out a mobile repair. These are both hugely fortunate positions to be in. I don’t think this is her place to step into. They as a couple need to reconcile themselves with their wealth and get on with it. Don’t get me wrong, I love to hear about their trips away. I love hearing about rich people doing things I can’t. I really do! But I hate hearing them moan about not being aloud shower alone. Book a trip away and get on with it.

. I hope she secures a teaching job soon, she is still young and could have a long career ahead of her.
they are all going to Australia next year while he tours. She’s not going back to work.

I was hoping there was a PH thread, glad there is because WTF was that today! Some tory bint bragging about bodyshaming her 'friend' into stopping breastfeeding, and lacking any self awareness apparently whilst dismissing education/careers in the arts whilst literally being a content creator. Practically shouting over her 'friend' and co host. The whole thing was so grating and I'm so surprised they actually did it considering how open they've been with their own/wives struggles with things like bfing. The last few guest episodes have just been so bizarre I feel like its becoming so unrelatable and not really parenting centred more people who love to talk about themselves but coincidentally have kids🥴

I hope the PH guys do read here - please, we’re begging you, just give us an hour of Rob and Josh chatting. I would much rather that than some of these no marks vocal frying and Torying it up into my ear.
Or at the very least please PH guys include a 10-15 minute debrief after the interview where you tell us what you really thought without holding back 😂

I’m finding Rob a bit annoying recently - he talks all over Josh and whereas Josh is still politely laughing at and encouraging all Rob’s jokes, I can’t hear Rob doing the same. I wonder if it’s all going to Rob’s head (which would be understandable).
