Loved yesterday’s episode. Really looking forward to Friday’s too.

I don’t think it matters the split between male and female guests. I actually think that having more males on is better, and it doesn’t conform to the traditional “women look after the kids”

However, the female guest that have been on, Natalie Cassidy and Alex Jones in particular, have far surpassed some of the recent male guest such as Seann Walsh and Adam Kay

I wouldn’t mind it personally. It’s only a day, the kids aren’t toddlers, they’re on holiday so not much anyone has to do. But then aren’t they flying home straight after? I would be edgy about transport failure I suppose.

I’m genuinely shocked that the same people who are fans of parenting hell are also requesting luisa Zissman and Mrs Hinch.

So glad to have a normal episode back!

I always like when Rob recognises how fortunate he is to be able to take his kids on holidays, or he has supportive parents/in-laws that can take the kids for a few days to allow him and Lou to go away. Whether or not that's just for the benefit of the podcast listeners, but it is always nice to hear!

I went to boarding school and whilst there were many good memories it was really traumatic. Most staff who look after you are in early 20's and there is no emotional support. I lived in a room of 6 girls and it was an absolute stress minefield. They are my best friends still, but we regularly discuss how we would never send our own kids there, and we have all had years of therapy for it since lol.

also re the arts. that chat made me so angry. Try and go through your day without tv, music, even having podcast producers etc... it doesn't happen. we need the arts and the perception that it doesn't make money isn't strictly true. I'm self employed and make enough money in it despite having a 'niche silly degree'.

Alison Hammond, great. I hadn’t seen or heard her on anything for at least 3 minutes before I saw she was this weeks guest.
I really enjoyed today’s episode. Felt it was more of just friends chatting rather than an interview to promote anything

Yeah can take or leave him generally but him & Rob have such strong chemistry together it works. Josh bounces off them easily too. One of the best for a long time.

I just fully laughed out loud at Josh’s joke about countdown not being on in Rob’s house, it didn’t get the laugh it deserved on the pod 😂

Just a tip when there are 3 seats together and you only need 2. Log in on another device/a different account, and select the single seat. Go through the process to when it is "holding" the seat, then use you usual device & log in with your usual account and you should be able to select the 2 seats without the "you cannot leave a single seat" message popping up!

What did everyone think to the discussion about which age is the hardest on Fridays episode? I was totally team Josh and agreed with all his points. I think Rob has been out the trenches too long!
Rob is in the sweet spot with his kids, between the relentless baby/toddler years and the teen years which are equally hard but in a completely different way.
Age 6-11 ish is the brilliant time where they don’t need you for every single little thing all day long, sleep through (usually) and you can have entertaining chat and games with them. Plus they still think you as their parents are the best ever. Before the onset of the teen years which are so emotionally exhausting even if they’re not problematic kids.

I think they were trying to estimate the cost of the shoes rather than just asking. Perhaps the babysitter had said it was fine, but they still want to reimburse her.

I liked today’s episode. I like the ones where they flit between topics. I enjoyed Josh making all those jokes about Lou, after how Rob has been for months about Rose being in Cornwall. About time he got his own back!
Although I’m sure it’s all in jest - they seem to like each other’s partners.

I’ve never heard of either of these woman and I hope I never do again! One of them seemed ok, the therapy bit was interesting, but the other one was awful. I’m glad for her children that her friend is a therapist - they’re going to need her.
I hope the PH guys do read here - please, we’re begging you, just give us an hour of Rob and Josh chatting. I would much rather that than some of these no marks vocal frying and Torying it up into my ear.

I've always respected Lou & Rose that they haven't gone down the instahun route like Rosie Ramsey!

Louise Beckett has the patience of an absolute saint!

Nothing like a quick trip to Germany for a night from Greece in the middle of a holiday eh 😂
