Painful Period after Covid Vaccine

I had AZ and always have regular periods, however after my 1st my period was 2 weeks early and then went back to normal (although definitely more clots etc) . 2nd Vaccine, same thing happened. I’ve reported my symptoms via the yellow card system, so if you do have anything out of the ordinary please report it.
I’ve reported mine too now. Thanks for this. I didn’t realise it was a thing.

After my second dose (Pfizer) in July my period came early, was very heavy and painful for 4 days and took over a week to stop. Usually I'd have one or two medium days and a couple of light days. We want to start ttc next month so hoping my next cycle is more normal for tracking etc.

Oh bless her.
Is she able to have a blood test to see if she is anemic?
hopefully it gets easier for her.
I think at this stage she’s being tested for everything. She’s been given medication to stop the bleeding but can only take it for 4 days.

It could be absolutely unrelated, she’s never had regular periods but she’s never ever had anything like this before

I take this medication myself and it alone creates large clots

She did message yesterday to say she thought it was working and then passed another large clot.
As I say it could be absolutely unrelated but the clotting issue has certainly been since she had her vaccine

Yeah I’ve taken it for 3 years the tablets actually thicken your blood and create clots to stop having such heavy periods.

My cycle length is now 31 days as opposed to 28, the first period after the first vax was awful and had to stay off work but the other ones after it have been just normal, manageable pain and slightly less bleeding.

Oh my days. I had my second AZ in June and my periods are so messed up! My last cycle was 23 days and this one was 38 days and now I’m in agony wondering if I can even go to work 🤦🏼‍♀️ It’s never been like this before!

An update from my previous post:

AZ jab (2) 3-4 weeks ago

Horrific PMS last week, tearful, nauseous, dizzy, supposed to start period this week.

No period, but 2 days ago loads of EWCM (for those who don’t track this stuff, it’s basically what comes out when you’re ovulating/fertile mid-cycle).

Assumed the jab has messed up my hormones due to the weird backwards PMS followed by ovulation signs..

Then this morning horrendous pain in my lower tummy for an hour or so which genuinely if it hadn’t passed I’d have called the dr because I thought I was having a burst cyst or something else seriously wrong.

Luckily it’s passed but if it returns I’ll be calling the Dr! I had the pain once about 5yrs ago and it feels like someones stood on your womb and it forces you to hunch over,is the only way I can describe it.

Sorry for the essay 🤣 my hormones are clearly majorly fucked up this month and I’m 99% it’s the jab - I’m usually like clockwork with mild PMS (if any) so this is defo not normal for me!

I always have really really painful periods - really bad stabby cramps, sometimes can’t stand up, sometimes sick, heavy bleeding with big clots. Sometimes cramping mid cycle too.

I was on my period when I got the vaccine but the cycle after that was a DREAM. Very little pain and super light. So maybe it’s messed up my hormones but I don’t mind tbh 😂 My second vaccine is in a few weeks so will be interesting to see what happens after that!

I’m 3 days late with just really mild cramps at the moment. I don’t normally get cramps until day 3 when I’m in agony for 24/48 hours but I’m glad this isn’t like last month so far when I was dehydrated from shitting lava for a day 🙄 I have got my second jab in a couple of weeks though 😬

This thread has made me nervous haha. For context, I have PCOS and always had irregular periods so can't say if the vaccine has caused my cycle to change as it's nonexistent! But my first period after the first dose (Pfizer) was fine, no issues at all and was slightly lighter if anything. I had my second dose two weeks ago so will report back on how my next period goes 😬

My periods were messed up for a while after my second vaccine (AstraZeneca)

I had a period in April, and my second vaccine in May, 2 days before my next period was due. Never arrived, didn’t get a period then until mid July.

Luckily I think they’re starting to get back to normal but I was scared because I’d always been pretty regular. No heavier or lighter than usual though!

My period still hasn’t shown up but I have been cramping the past couple of days. I don’t want to be using tampons when I’m not actually bleeding but I don’t want to have an accident which would be just my luck. I’ve spoken to a few of my friends and they have had trouble too since being vaccinated and that is with all three types and yet it’s still not well publicised, I only found out through this thread.

I hope everyone is doing ok. My period showed up and I’m also passing a lot of clots and in a lot of pain. Haven’t wanted to use a wheat bag as it’s so warm in my house. I keep getting light headed if I move too quickly and feel pretty pants and uncomfortable. This is after my first jab, having my second in a couple of weeks 😩

This thread makes me wish I'd reported my symptoms to the yellow card.
I had AZ back in March when this wasn't really being discussed much. The 2 periods following my jab were horrific.
I was passing clots on the first and they were so painful, which isn't normal for me. The second was even worse, super heavy to the point I could watch it fall when I went to the loo, passing more clots and the cramps were comparable to labour pains.
I take ibuprofen before bed for back problems and not even that helped. I was having to deep breath through the cramps.
Based on that I haven't had my second jab. Did anyone else find it was easier or worse after the second?
Not that I plan on having it, but I'm interested to know if it's just something that happens on just one of the jabs

I don’t know if I timed mine badly, personally didn’t experience any adverse effects with the first. Second as stated when I started this thread was horrendous, as others have said labour like cramping, heavy bleeding (super plus tampon soaked through in a couple of hours)and terrible back ache along with feeling in a really dark place mood wise and doing a lot of shouting and crying 😕 I’m only just coming out of the other side now and have also reported symptoms to yellow card.
I’m annoyed at myself as was really in two minds about having the second jab (I have a couple of friends who are vehemently against it and it had got me thinking) but I am a teacher and I thought it seemed sensible for September. I honestly wish I hadn’t as it’s made our long awaited family holiday with 2x little people really difficult physically and mentally. I know that perhaps sounds ridiculous given that thousands of people have died of Covid - but people are also very ill who have been double jabbed. Don’t know if it’s just my head being in a bit of a dark place but it just feels like we’re being conned and lied to. Sick of it all TBH.

I had the Pfizer jab two weeks ago and ive felt nauseous since. It feels like I have morning sickness (absolutely not pregnant and just had my period which for some reason was pain free). I just constantly feel like puking up and im annoyed because I'm eating bland carbs to make myself feel better and really dont want to put on weight as ive worked so hard to lose weight over the past 2 years (I was obese and im a few lbs away from healthy weight bracket).

My husband had his first jab 3 weeks ago and it had the same affect on him that you would expect from viagra 😂😂

I had my second Pfizer jab at the beginning of June and am currently on my first period since then (I take my pill without breaks for a few months).
Unlike after the first one it came right on time but day two was extremely heavy to the point I didn‘t leave the house as I usual bleed very lightly and I wasn‘t prepared for it. I‘m now on day 5 and it‘s gone back to very normal and should stop within the next 24 hours (🤞🏻🤞🏻).
I‘m hopeful my next period will be normal again but will see.
