He must have been off his head then, to put it bluntly. Daily fail show pictures of the hotel/pool. No way, if the above is true, he would have believed he could have made that jump if he was sober. Harrowing to think about tbh
It’s crazy what people think they can do when drunk or high, I saw pictures of the hotel and yes the pool was miles away but when you are in that mindset you can convince yourself of these things. I have had an awful feeling for months now that something like this would happen, even more so after everything started coming out.

I just can’t stop thinking about that little boy who was sleeping peacefully last night not knowing his entire world was about to fall apart when he woke up, my heart breaks for Cheryl having to deliver that news.

One of the best lessons I’ve ever learnt is “there is no blueprint to loss or grief”. One person may need to keep busy whilst another can’t work, one person may need to constantly cry whilst another has to shut down emotionally to cope, one person might need to be stoic whilst another needs to find awkward jokes in the silence, one person might want to gush or unload on social media whilst another might remain silent.

People will be watching everyone’s moves (especially the four 1D boys) going forward but grief and how it’s handled is so individual to each person and I hope his family and those close to him are given that understanding, but sadly I don’t think they will.

😔

In the 911 call they mention their concerns about the balcony as being the reason they called. I actually thought the hotel dealt with it really well to make that call. People always want someone to blame

I do find it so alarming how the photos paint a different picture to the info we've been given so far. He sounded like a man on the verge but all his movement in the hour before looks calm and normal.

Poor Cheryl having to tell their son. Horrific. Poor little man’s life forever changed
I’m almost angry at him for not listening to those around him and getting the help he needed because his son no longer had a daddy. Like the poor poor boy who probably went to bed without a care in the world and his life is forever changed. If it does turn out to be be he was high from crack etc then I just…. I dunno. It’s just terrible.

This is all just so… dark. I don’t know, just really really sad. He was clearly unwell and was being made fun of online for the past while. It’s so depressing. Obviously he did bad things but people are complex and addiction and mental illness can turn you into a completely different person.

Because it was main news on Sky within an hour and a half of him dying. That’s no time at all in the chaos of something happening. It would normally take a few hours for cops to contact the British Embassy etc to get next of kin details.
There was only 87 minutes between him being pronounced dead and TMZ posting those images, that’s no time at all 🙁

Someone developing an addiction to drugs or alcohol doesn’t make them a bad person, some of the nicest people you meet can be battling those addictions but the addictions can lead someone to do very bad things and they can become a very selfish person and when you have an addiction it’s your responsibility to get better and overcome it because otherwise it’ll affect you and everyone around you lives and that’s not fair. People can be there for support every step of the way and offer you all different options of help but at the end of the day it’s up to the person with the addiction to want to help themselves.

It’s very sad Liam was battling with addictions and his mental health I hate to hear of anybody having those battles because it’s heartbreaking and it’s a shame he wasn’t able to get the help he needed or wasn’t willing to receive that help because his family including his son are all going to be affected by his loss for the rest of their lives but addictions can take over someone’s life to the point they don’t think about how it affects anyone else because they’re in their own world with their addiction. I understand what people are saying about being mad at him for not getting the help he needed that frustration towards him is completely understandable because him seemingly not putting in enough work to get better not just for his sake but for his son and his other family members is a shame. He was so young and it’s sad he wasn’t able/willing to get better so he could still be here.

I think he just was so caught up in wanting fame that it took over everything and everyone else in his life that should of mattered to him more than fame and attention . Sometimes addictions or any mental illness anyone is battling with can be so hard to break free from and it’s sad how many people there are battling addictions who are in denial that they need help or not willing to get help. I just hope Liam can rest in peace now and I pray for his family because I feel so sorry for all of them not only because he’s died but also having someone in your life who’s an addict can be one of the hardest , saddest and most frustrating things to see someone self destruct themselves and there’s only so much you can say or do to help because it’s up to the addict to take action to help themselves and get better. I don’t know yet if it was suicide or a tragic accident that happened in the moment of him being on drugs and alcohol but it’s all very sad no matter what.

Any random person behaving like that in a hotel would be restrained by security and taken away it’s a shame no one intervened
Its quite possible they didnt have the man power - restraining some one under the influence of drugs can take a numbef of people. No hotel has security guards their full time for instances like this.

I know theres other staff, but IMO its not for them to get involved her due to potential injuries etc they could receive. Calling the cops is generally the best option

Did anyone see his stories that went up just before he died on Snapchat? There was a strange one where he snaps at Kate for leaving her hat on the table. I could feel the tension in her voice. It seems like he was trying his best to pick an argument.
I actually found that video rather disturbing. His demeanour in it is quite sneering, even when he says good morning. There's almost a simmering rage bubbling underneath the calm exterior, and the look he gives her after he says "It's rude to put hats on the table" made me shudder a bit, as someone who has been in a relationship with an abusive addict and has experienced being on the receiving end of looks like that.

He was obviously in a really bad place, and it's been disheartening to see some of the comments about how she should feel guilty for leaving him and going home early. We have no idea what was going on behind closed doors, but if that video is anything to go by, I don't think we can blame her if she felt like she needed to leave for her own sake before his behaviour escalated.

Despite that, I do feel incredibly sad how things have ended for him. I'm am addict in recovery myself, and I wouldn't wish the often fatal combination of severe mental health issues and addiction on anyone. (That's not to say it ever justifies or excuses abusive behaviour. It certainly doesn't.) I do hope he's managed to find the peace which so cruelly eluded him in life.

Liam dumped Danielle for Sophia. Sophia went from being working class to living in a big country home although she has never had a job. These girls profited from Liam and probably triggered the start of his battles.
Blaming his ex girlfriend’s for his spiral into drug use is wild

I'm glad that the person who commented with a meme from Twitter of Cheryl Cole contacting Liam via a seance has either deleted or had their post deleted. You can comment on my posts with a sick emoji as l did yours but I saw what what you did. A little boy has lost his father.

Don’t know if anyone else feels this way but because the 1D boys started out SO young and the work rate and number of albums and tours, it felt like they were much older than they were when they split up? I remember being like 14/15 thinking they were so grown up at 22/23 but that’s really no age at all!

Much like Cheryl said in her post, something that gets lost when someone extremely famous passes away is the fact that they are a person too. Fans and everyone get caught up in what they and the rest of the world has lost (and I’m certainly not negating what they feel because of the huge impact 1D had on their fans) but should also remember that there is a family out there that have lost a father, a son, a brother, a nephew. The statement from his sister is heartbreaking.

Vultures indeed!
Can’t remember his name but the 1D security guy that was always with the boys is with Geoff in Argentina
Paul Higgins!! He honestly has been there for them since day 1 and has worked with them all throughout their solo careers, if that doesn’t show what a gem of a human being he is I don’t know what does, but this must be devastating for him as he always said he was their “road dad” I can’t imagine how he’s feeling either 💔

I would imagine the other 4 boys will release a joint statement and then they will decide whether or not to post a personal tribute on social media. Niall and Louis will definitely post something but not sure about the other two, yes they have drifted in recent years but I don’t think they disliked each other and for all we know they could have been connecting behind the scenes. Whatever they decide to post or not post I just hope people don’t send hate and allow them to grieve the way they feel necessary.

I don’t know, I don’t think Harry and Liam were ever particularly close. I think it would have been insincere for him to write a gushing message.

Their statements are all appropriate to the level of friendship they had with Liam, and that’s all we can ask for.

Tabloids are saying Liam was dropped by Universal as recently as last week, and that his PR company recently stepped away from him too.

I don’t think Simon was involved as people actually think. SyCo was not just him and plus they had management etc it wasn’t all Simon’s rules. He probably didn’t have much of a say outside of picking singles and songs. I know Sonny Takhar managed a lot of the stuff with Simon being on Tv a lot.
Simon said the only regrets he has is that he didn’t own the name one direction. He could have said he regrets not keeping a closer eye on them, not having a therapist on tour to help them deal with becoming famous so fast so young, that he regrets how young they actually were when he put them together. Yes their parents let them audition but none of them expected them to blow up like they did and never come home. I completely agree with you about it not being all Simon’s fault, but he should have advocated for them while they were young. I do disagree with him not having much of a say though. Remember when he had a meeting with Louis after that cake fight they had?
Simon failed them massively and he refuses to even acknowledge it, never mind to take accountability for it
