I don't think people realise that simon wasn't solely responsible for the bad parts of their time in the band. He wasn't the only one pulling the strings. There's so much more to it than that

Said this on the Liam thread and reposting here, but the people slagging off the girlfriend for leaving Argentina are pissing me right off. What if she’d stayed and he’d killed her instead of himself in his violent rage? Then they’d all be asking why didn’t she leave an abusive situation.

Poor girl can’t win - just like we can’t discern anything about their relationship from her TikTok videos.

Christ that's a bit much 🤣 obviously their hearts in the right place but if he needed a reason to stay it'd be his daughter, not his fans 🙈

Saw pictures of Louis leaving the funeral. He looked devastated. My heart breaks for him, losing yet another important person in his life.

My heart goes out to the rest of the boys as well. No matter what their relationship with Liam was, they all shared a bond together. Today must be so incredibly hard for them.

I was a vocal, “older” 1d fan (35 now) when they were huge and I’ve followed them all with interest ever since. I’ve had the worst feeling about Liam in recent weeks, with his erratic behaviour and the online commentary about him… I’m absolutely not saying that from a place of superiority as I fully indulged in consuming that content and laughing at it with friends etc. We can all be so guilty of watching celebrities’ lives like it’s entertainment and I don’t know what the solution is- it’s just sad. When I heard the news last night I had family round and I had to excuse myself because I couldn’t believe what I was reading somehow. What an awful, horrible way to go, whatever the circumstances. And I just cannot imagine how all those who loved him are feeling, especially his son.

By all all accounts he was a complex and deeply flawed human being, but beloved by many, and I think someone not suited for the fame and fortune he received at such a young age. Rest in peace, Liam.

Just thought about how awful this must be for Louis, who sadly lost Fizzy to drugs and has dealt with a lot of grief with losing some of the closest people to him, to now losing Liam too.

It is so sad how many of us saw this coming. Liam has just always stood out to everyone as the 'sad one' didn't he? He clearly struggled the worst with the band breaking up. I don't think he ever got over that loss of suddenly the lads he thought where his mates were gone and comparison 24/7 to Harry & Nialls success must have been horrendous.

A patient who used to always come into my ED was a twin. His twin was a successful solicitor while he was a homeless addict. All he did was talk about how successful his brother was. He got off drugs for 4/5 years then one night decided to take drugs again and he died. Comparison is the thief of joy and can just tell Liam was like this.

Horrendous. Simon Cowell should be ashamed of himself honestly.

It’s crazy what people think they can do when drunk or high, I saw pictures of the hotel and yes the pool was miles away but when you are in that mindset you can convince yourself of these things. I have had an awful feeling for months now that something like this would happen, even more so after everything started coming out.

I just can’t stop thinking about that little boy who was sleeping peacefully last night not knowing his entire world was about to fall apart when he woke up, my heart breaks for Cheryl having to deliver that news.
In my experience (nurse) of treating people who have fallen from a height, any kind of deliberate fall (e.g. jumped and missed the landing) involves jumping feet first.

For someone to fall head first, it's 99% unintentional/misjudgement. Take that up to 99.9% if they fall backwards.

The fact that there are no reports in any media that people attempted to give first aid makes me think that it was the latter, and he was in a condition where the injuries were clearly unsurvivable.

If the TMZ balcony picture reflects where he fell from, it's not actually that high, and I think most people who jumped there feet first would have serious injuries but not ones that were immediately fatal.

The circumstances will be expanded on later, but even with this level of info I am strongly inclined to believe he didn't jump and it was an accidental fall.

I just don’t understand how no one intervened when it’s clear that he has been struggling for years… but he didn’t want or didn’t let people help him
My nephew was going through a mental health break down last Christmas. He rang the police and told them he was going to kill himself. They took him to hospital where he begged to be sectioned because he knew he would do something to himself and the hospital RELEASED him after a few hours because apparently he wasn’t that much of a risk to himself. He tried again three days later and luckily his best friend found him in time. He has bipolar and is borderline schizophrenic and that still wasn’t enough for them.

I’ll be honest. For the last little while, ever since Maya started spilling the tea on her time with Liam, I had a feeling that something bad would happen to Liam, or that he would do/say something terrible.

And yet, in my wildest speculations, death never made it on the list. I was thinking something like an overdose, more sexual harassment allegations would surface, and maybe even a very public lawsuit for those allegations. But certainly, not death. Never in a million years.

I am sad for his family. His son who now will grow up with a father. His mother and father who now has to bury their son. His sisters who lost a brother much too soon. I am also sad for his friends. I am sad for the future that he could’ve had. Call me naive but I had hope he’d hit rock bottom and climb his way up again. A redemption arc, if you will.

I work in healthcare, and know the absolute demon that is addiction. Relapse is very common in the path to recovery, and it seems like Liam struggled to stay sober and clean after his stint in rehab. Alas, Liam was not able to get the help he needed or he wasn’t receptive to the help he got. Or maybe he didn’t want the help.

The situation is just very sad. As much as I criticized him, I did want him to find his footing, and be successful.

RIP Liam.

When I was a massive fan of one direction years ago I remember the name Lou Teasdale, but I have no idea what her association to them was. I just remember what she used to look like and I just looked her up on Instagram and I was shocked to see how different she looks now
She was their make up artist I believe.

This is the thing isn’t it, he experienced such a high level of fame at such a young age, when the band split him and some of his other band mates just became irrelevant over night seemingly.

I do think he had a hard time accepting that without the band his career wasn’t going to have him souring superstardom the way it did whilst the band was together.

And I think that the way 1D were worked to the bone and the lack of support they had during their time as a group massively contributed to this, he was so young getting so famous so fast, of course the poor guy would have a mental snap. I’m sure I read somewhere that he was comparing himself to Harry as well, insinuating he didn’t have what Harry had so couldn’t make it the same way. That’s just sad.

I think truthfully, he’s been let down by everyone in his team. He’d obviously given up and was just accepting his addiction and wasn’t at rock bottom just yet, so wasn’t seeking help yet. He looks like a shell of himself in every tiktok he appeared in with his girlfriend. It’s such a shame.
4 world tours and 5 albums in 5 years is not normal for any singer never mind a bunch of teenagers, it is criminal how much they worked them. Must have been so strange going from being in the biggest band in the world to a much lower level of fame.

I also feel sad for the rest of the 1D boys. Regardless of Liam’s spiral, he was an important part of their lives. They might not be the best of friends, but they’ll always share a bond.

Louis seemed to be the closest to Liam; I hope he’s okay.

I don’t know if the 1D boys will post about Liam’s death. I don’t know if it’s better if they do or if they don’t.

Oh Zayn 😭 I was not expecting him to be so open and honest in his tribute, that’s what broke my heart. I knew he would be feeling guilt over not reconciling with Liam. Louis post also broke my heart as I knew it would 💔

But if you care about someone sometimes you need to put them first. She’s not responsible but clearly he didn’t have good people (not just his gf) around him.
This makes no sense. You don’t know how many times she’s put him first, what she’s put up with, done for him, given up. You just can’t say.

Using your same train of thought why didn’t he put her and his son and his family first and get clean. It’s just not that simple.
