RSPCA say as long as it has water, I’m on the two year waiting list for noise recording equipment from the council, and we live in an area where the police don’t come out to actual crimes so…

Hi everyone how are your awful neighbours treating you lately?
Mine have decided it’s acceptable to slam doors all night and that we have to put up and shut up. The noise is constant and the minute they hear so much as a footstep from us they’re banging on the wall. I’m beyond stressed now because this was supposed to be our forever home, I’ve spent a fortune, now I just want to leave. Why are some people so nasty!?

I can relate. Think mine have been arguing or something so doors slamming at all hours.

Was really annoyed over the weekend, bbq smoke all over my clean washing on the line- never gave me a heads up or anything. Then doing some form of drilling or sanding until 11pm on Sunday night and every day since but at a more reasonable hour. I don’t mind diy but why does it have to be all of the time and really noisy.

It’s really hard isn’t it, I’ve had 3 houses in a row with neighbours like this and it really can be soul destroying. Have you ever confronted them about it?

Mine is a combination of all the neighbours having changed over the years and just constant noise. Some don’t shut up until midnight, bikes and vans start at 4:30am, kids racing illegal things at 2am, the dog next door barks and howls 24/7 as it’s basically abandoned, and the hot tub next door then grates on my very last nerve. My actual batshit problem neighbours just fade into the background of my permanent exhaustion.

That’s what happened at my last house it’s hell on earth isn’t it
I wish these hole neighbours would all start a community together and leave the rest of us to live in peace and quiet

My neighbour is so predictable when it comes to when he'll play crappy loud music

At least I haven't seen the police or had to call them for a while

I totally understand you. With summer here, my neighbour stands in her garden and peers through my windows as she waters, screams to her husband from the lawn instead of going inside to speak with him, stomps around inside/slams doors, and clatters glasses and plates and turns on both her blender at 11pm/12am (she's Spanish, I presume gazpacho) and 6am (for the morning smoothie of course).

But of course, my cat entering her garden warrants multiple visits. It's galling when they expect a ridiculous standard and won't even meet the bare minimum back.

This bit in bold! I feel like I live my life afraid to get the washing out, not able to use my garden, cement on my windows from their DIY and when I pulled them up about the bbq or playing music in the early hours it’s like I’ve asked for the earth.

This is EXACTLY how I am at the moment. Since our neighbours from hell moved in 5 years ago, I’ve rarely been able to hang washing out, sit in the garden (or even do any gardening) or anything outdoors because they’re always out there, barbecuing, smoking disgusting cheap fags, drinking and playing loud music.

You ask them to quieten down and you just get snark. No better inside the house, they’re constantly shouting, screaming, loud TV, slamming doors and playing loud music - seems to follow me round wherever I am in…

You have my utmost empathy and sympathy. ❤‍🩹

We cant do anything in our garden without the "border guard" parading around trying to see what we have done. He wont acknowledge us in the street for some unknown reason but seems obsessed with what we are doing.
Caught him the other day looking in and my face doesnt lie so it was probably saying what are you looking at anyway he turned away. He has 3 other fences he can patrol but seems still to be mesmorised by what we do.

I feel for all of you, there needs to be laws or protection for things like this it really can ruin your life.
oh don’t worry I slam them back, but they have the audacity to be angry and do it again to ‘retaliate’ something they started 🙄

I have the exact same, been going on for nine years. She snubs me in the street but is obsessed with what I’ve been doing in the garden even if it’s just weeding.
Some people are very weird.

Can I have your thoughts please on neighbour flying his nasty little drone over our garden?

Also to add, this is a weird as hell neighbour who's not only nosey, but has no boundaries. He's sent me dodgy/explicit texts before (claimed they were for someone else), and has cctv that films right down the side of our house.

Im scared to confront him as he's massive and my partner wont do anything.

Log it with the police to begin. He sounds unhinged

Is the land to the side of your house public, private or shared property?
If the land belongs to you he should not be filming it but if it’s along a public footpath then I believe he is allowed. If he is filming public land he should have CCTV warning stickers in place.

Witnessed a drug deal at 8am this morning, heard chatting outside my front door so had a snoop on the ring doorbell and guy walking toward my neighbour, who i have suspected of drug dealing for a while, with cash in his hand. neighbour obviously knowing i have the Ring ushers the guy away. less than a minute later neighbour walks back annoyingly over my front garden. It just makes me feel uneasy especially living alone to potentially have people lingering around outside. had a weird feeling the other night to check the ring, i dont normally look back at it as can make me feel a bit paranoid sometimes and ignorance is bliss, to see a guy try the handle of my car, the click the camera put his hood up and shoot off.

You make his life a bit difficult by filing a complaint with the ico and submitting a gdpr request. Any recordings on your land can be considered personal information so he’d have to respond in a timely manner or risk nasty fines. He might decide it’s more trouble than it’s worth to fly his drone over your land.
