I’ve never done goodie bags, I remember my youngest going to a party and she got a barbie doll as a gift, from the birthday girl, cost more than the gift my daughter took, it was weird and I felt pretty crap thankfully my daughter didn’t realise the price although she was confused as to why she was getting a gift

You can hand express colostrum in the last weeks of pregnancy which can be good if your baby doesn’t latch well in the begining and need a top up or if there’s an issue where you can’t feed. Can freeze it like breastmilk etc- can also help induce labour too

They, whoever they are, recommend expressing colostrum from 36 weeks, certainly didn’t do it in my day, you simply popped the baby out and fed them

You freeze it haha 🤣 and then you can give it to baby once they're here. She's not done something bad lol it's great tbh

Doubt it, she’ll have a nanny, a night nanny, a wet nurse…this baby has to slot into HER life/schedule! Anything that will inconvenience Queen Edna is absolutely off the table!

Agreed!! 90% off the mums I’ve met in the last 5 years have got colostrum out for when bubs is fresh especially if mums having a hard time latching or exhausted they can have colostrum also known as liquid gold as it gives the baby its best start to life. Can be frozen which a lot of people do leading up to birth. My midwife told me to do it from 36 weeks no earlier as it can induce labour.

Yeah this is very normal, nothing special. I tried to do this, but nothing comes out. Once my baby is born, its still not out (tried hand expressing etc)! And baby wouldnt latch either. After 5 days, supply finally kicked in but it has transitioned to normal milk, and baby doesnt latch until she is 3 weeks old (that, even require breastshield). Breastfeeding isnt for the weak!

You can express colostrum from 35w as long as everything is going well in pregnancy. You store it in the syringes in the freezer and then they are ready to go when baby arrives. Keeps around 6m from what my midwife told me

Oh man that sounds super rough! It’s def not an easy way to feed baby for some people!

“They” are midwives and obstetrics personnel who are experts in their field.
good for you that you had an easy time but some people don’t.
Again I’m all for bagging on influencers when they do stupid tit but actually good on Edna for doing this. Even if she’s not going to breastfeed or she’s going to exclusively pump. Good on her. Things change, new research is conducted and what people did “in there day” vs what some people do now are wildly different
