I went to the FVH show last night, not one mention of Megan at all. Lots of stories from The Edge days, how they (the edge) trademarked the names Fletch and Vaughan (and Vaughan and Fletch) so they couldn't be used together... how they were pretty much blanked from the day they announced they were leaving.

The show was great, lots of laughs. Hayley's book club was a flop (for me)... but her song was great. Good stories, good games. Fletch is my fave 🥰
Cassie Henderson was excellent.

10/10
From memory were they put in “garden leave” as soon as it was announced they were leaving the edge. The rumour mill went wild, and thier show Facebook page was pulled down and they couldn’t post anything about where they were going.

With the component that is gifted, it puts it out of reach of so many average families. Putting down $4-500 plus on balloons and pretty things is just prohibitive for the average party. And the goodie bags, down here (wellingtonish) it is becoming almost a competition between some parents as to who does the "best goodie bag".

I remember taking home a slice of birthday cake, maybe some chocolate crackle wrapped up in a paper napkin. 😳
And maybe even a balloon! I doubt kids these days are allowed to dismantle the huge expensive balloon garlands to take one each! 😔

Yes, getting to pick a balloon❤. It was simple then, and a balloon and piece of cake was so exciting. We are breeding a generation of materialist humans. Bet they don't even play pass the parcel or musical chairs/statues', I feel old. 😔

They said they stayed on, and as soon as they walked into an office where other people were the conversation stopped, they didn't go to the Xmas party, and they jokingly told someone that being excluded from Secret Santa was illegal...next thing they knew they had secret Santa invites/names.

They said on the last day (Xmas eve?) They walked out and turned off the lights like a sitcom

I wonder what ZM offered them to get them to jump ship? They were on in the afternoons at the edge eh? And I guess the morning show is the most prestigious

Exactly!! 💯
…so so sad! I bet if they DO play pass the parcel every layer has a $50 bill and everyone gets a turn! #participationcertificatesforeveryone! 😒

That sounds great hahah I remember getting so mad as a kid playing that chocolate chopping dress up game and someone else would roll a 6 before I could eat any chocolate 😅 life was so unfair in the early 2000s

Did they ever say why they left the edge? Was it just because zm was offering more $$?

Omg slap me right in the childhood! The chocolate game!!! 🥰 that was wild lol!
…DEFINITELY couldn’t play that game now!
It would have to be with a gluten free, dairy free, nut free, paleo, keto, organic, refined sugar free raw cacao bar! 🥴
Oh, and only ONE piece! No stuffing your face with as much as possible!

I think so!
They said something about getting payrises is hard, ask the producers, they know
Yea IIRC pretty sure they went to The Edge bosses and said this is what ZM is offering us, match/better it and we’ll stay, but they wouldn’t so cya!
It’s just so strange they fought SO HARD for Megan - only accepting the position if she could come too and have naming rights etc, to then just be completely “radio silent” (excuse the pun) on her leaving!

Only thing with square one is it's a paid subscription service whereas an eftpos card is free to use for kids account. Only problem is I think most banks won't issue them until child is 13. (Even though I'm sure I got my first card when I was 10 or 11, it was def before college anyway.
Well I feel like the influencers peddling that don't tell us that it's a paid subscription, what!

I think it’s like a service or card fee charge of $5 for up to 5 kids. I only have one that uses it and happy with that coz we find it great!

All mine have it. Two of them are too young to get an eftpos card through the bank and I really like doing the instant top ups with the cards. Well worth the $5 a month for us.

Interesting Judea still radio silent, no posts in a month, all videos from YouTube gone, I wonder if they are giving it another go

Someone awkwardly shouted Megan in our Auckland show when it was asked if they'd ever had a disagreement or fallout but whoever shouted it out near us (up the front) it made a lot of people around us groan lol.
Didn't like the book club either but then I'm not a fan of that segment on the radio too.

It’s 13 for an eftpos card and my kids all have them which has proved very handy on so many occasions including transferring them some money to run to the dairy for us. It’s $4 a month.

My assumption on the Megan thing is that she did something that they didn’t agree with. They seemed to be close outside of the show so it must have been something fairy significant.

Breakfast radio is the pinnacle of radio. It has the most listeners and it’s the most competitive time slot between stations. I think The edge thought that they weren’t going to as much of a threat as they have been. They definitely lost a lot of listeners when the move happened. I was one of them that moved stations with them and I don’t think the edge has found the right morning crew to match them yet.
