Guys— the only other option is that they have a very explicit business agreement that they are going to do brand things together. But that doesn’t make sense because Niomi doesn’t need him for that.
Otherwise, a single straight man is not going to do things like spend his weekend moving boxes for his similarly straight female acquaintance/casual friend simply out of the kindness of his heart, and go away on country weekends with her building fires because he’d just love a cozy Cornwall getaway... Men aren’t doing stuff like that, sorry. This is some sort of sad fling and Niomi is hurt and embarrassed enough to want everyone to see it.

Upon re-listening closely I could hear the narrator speaking and figure out they had 'Greatest Events of WWII in Colour' on, which is a documentary but I'm sure they just had it on in the background to appear intellectual and didn't actually watch any of it! They are too absorbed in themselves to take a real interest in anything else.

Joey is attractive, but he's not a stud either. Plus, plenty of objectively "very attractive" guys wind up with average looking women. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I personally don't think she's unfortunately looking. She simply doesn't know what suits her and what doesn't and tends to gravitate towards unflattering outfits / hair colors etc. She just goes where the wind blows style wise. She was stunning as a brunette.
Blonde hair definitely suits her mom, but Niomi needs to realize she doesn't have the same features and needs to stick to brown.
PT Bradley on the other hand looks like his sheets are full of fan tan when he wakes up in the morning!
