Oh god the drift drives me insane an even more at knowing that they know about this, there is videos on YouTube that show you how to fix it, it's somthing to do with putting a bit of card under the joy stick an it stops it but I've never tried it, I only have drift on the right side

I've never been to any, but I do remember all the hype around them an friends going, mainly it was the harry potter books which at the time I wasn't interested in 😅 so missed out on all that

I do remember my brother waiting for the psp when it launched but it was a daytime thing, would be kindi fun if they did bring it back but I think online has mostly killed the idea, I'd have said I could imagine there being a midnight release for GTA6 but with so many probably getting digital versions there might not be

I'll probably go after work, our store starts from 11pm, so I'll drop by an maybe see if I can swipe a goodie bag an some games 😅

thanks i did think this would be the case, i have felt like this about a few switch games now. Maybe it will go super cheap in a few weeks to boost sales!
There's a promised update for golf that will hopefully include some more stuff, the most annoying part is that three of the included games are volleyball, tennis and badminton and they all pretty much feel like the same game? Badminton and tennis really are just singles and doubles of the same game and volleyball is a very slight twist on the same theme. They're fun don't get me wrong but it feels bit like a con counting them as three sports.

Well done on getting one!

I registered my interest with ShopTo back in January but I got an email today telling me I'm not among those who will get one on release day. I'm guessing I wasn't quick enough to hit the button in January. So I'll keep it there for now in case people ahead of me in the queue don't end up wanting or paying for one.

Also on Amazon you can register to be "invited" to pre-order which I found interesting. Not sure if they're going to see how loyal a customer you are (eg length of Prime membership, how often you return stuff etc) before letting you pre-order or maybe they're doing it to try and stop scalpers pre-ordering en masse. Regardless I've registered to be invited, so we'll see.

Argos and Very had pre-orders up but they all went before I realised.

I'll keep trying but may have to accept this could be one of the first Nintendo consoles I won't get on the release date. Such is life. :D
See if you can sign up for Smyth's, I've had two emails from them so far for preordering it, I managed to grab one with the first email but today I got another, hopefully you might get some luck with them

That's true, Nintendo I feel have always been expensive an rarely do any good sales, even old games still have a ridiculous price on them, think the Zelda games are still around the £50 mark an they are getting a bit old, they seem quite money orientated

Am going guess it will probably be a mario or Luigi for the big launch, I know those two are "the" Nintendo games but I've never been much interested in them, isn't there a new 3d mario in the works as well?

Am wondering also if most of the games that had a TBA have been made with the switch 2 in mind an that's why we have never had a date for them, it felt like a bunch got announced an all we got told was coming 2025 when usually we'd have a date

Am looking forward to the new rune factory game an tales of seikyu, think rune got announced for end of may but still no date as far as I know for seikyu which I hope will have been made with switch 2 in mind

My partner said he hated things breaking in BoTW. I’ve not long started playing it and the first time he was all “see, I told you!” 🤣
When I first started I missed the chests with the clothes in it so Link was running around half naked until I restarted and realised.

Love Spyro though changing my view constantly is annoying, sure my Gameboy Spyro I didnt have to do that.
Do you have the dynamic camera on or whatever it's called? There's a way to switch to the old school Spyro camera that sits behind him.

Pretty sure ours is a Sandisk one too, not a massive one, just one we had floating round the house for something else. We've never bought a downloaded game though, so I'm not sure if it actually stores anything!
You can choose to store the downloaded games onto them, I have a few downloaded games plus hard copy ones, I also keep all my game saves on the sd disc as well, once the sd disc is in you can see what is being stored on both the Nintendo an the disc an how much room each game takes up

Yeah it’s only the Direct that’s in April. No release date has been said yet. I’ve seen people saying June or September but it’s just guesses.
AHH ok then, dang that sucks, was thinking it was a release date for it, it's been in production a while an Nintendo usually drop dates pretty close to release as well, wasn't even any warning to them dropping the trailer, it just went up lol

Only a week to go now for the switch 2, honestly thinking about just restarting my ACNH instead of carrying over it's save to see if I can get back into it 😅

Was hoping I'd have heard some fire emblem news as well by now, itching for a new game, been replaying three houses but I definitely need something different

Our Switch finally got delivered yesterday after a battle with DPD as they never came out on Sunday (the date I rearranged to).

My head was pounding yesterday so other than a quick look I’ve not really played with it. Himself downloaded Cyberpunk I think. I’m not sure whether to get the Kirby game or now, will it be much different from the OG version of it? I think we can share games in our family group but I still need to create my profile on it. I also believe Nintendo have added a second save slot for Zelda but not checked that out.

I'm gonna need someone to explain the Animal Crossing hype to me! We gave in and bought it in May and its not been touched since!

We love Tetris on the switch, especially playing online. Mario Kart and Luigi's Mansion are both great. Recently bought Ring Fit, we're still figuring that one out 🤣 but has been a laugh. We're thinking of getting Crash Bandicoot next bc its given us all the childhood flashbacks!
I don’t get the hype either.

The switch 2 is surprisingly well powered (for a Nintendo machine). It's not quite as far behind technologically as they usually are.

But games like GT6 I doubt will be coming out on it, or if they do then it'll lose many of the features.

A big part of why the switch was so successful is they could re-release all the wii U games that flopped. They're going to have to invest a lot more in games this cycle. Probably why they slowed down and they didn't need to put a lot out with mario kart 8 still selling so well despite being 11 years old.
Yeah I've seen some comparisons of the Switch 2 version of Cyberpunk 2077 compared to the Xbox Series S version and the Switch 2 version is a little sharper. I didn't expect that, especially considering it's so small.

I expect they've got a lot of games planned. Animal Crossing is a dead cert, but may be a little way off. I think if it was nearing completion we'd have seen a teaser trailer by now. Zelda is probably the same.

I'm surprised they didn't make Donkey Kong Bananza a launch game. It's been included with all the launch material and, considering it's out in July, it's obviously finished and ready. Admittedly Mario Kart is one of their most popular games, but it did dawn on me the other day that it's the only game I'll be playing on the launch day, other than the higher resolution Zelda games.

Where I bought it from expressly says it will be dispatched on the 4th 😑
Fingers crossed you still get it the 5th

Am wishing I had just done click and collect at Smyth's instead, didn't know they were doing midnight release, they never with the Xbox or PS so didn't expect it for this, I'll probably still go up an see if I can pick up some games though for it an then just pace on the 5th wondering when it's coming if it doesn't arrive before then

If it arrives just right before I have to go to work I will not be impressed lol

Not sure if you're aware, but Animal Crossing has its own transfer tool to move data from one Switch to another. You can't do it any other way, so be careful wiping any AC data from your Switch without using it first.

The tool worked well for me when I upgraded my original Switch to an OLED Switch a year ago. Pretty sure the same tool can be used to move AC save data from a Switch to a Switch 2. I used it because my island took so long and I catalogued pretty much every single item in the game (including all the colour variants) so I couldn't face starting over.

Always nice to pass a console onto a new gamer haha! I think I'm either gonna put my Switch next to my Switch 2 (both docked by my TV), or I'll use my Switch as a purely handheld console, while keeping my Switch 2 mainly docked. If it was just a standard Switch I wouldn't care, but it's the TotK Zelda edition, so I still want to use it rather than letting it gather dust while I move all data to my Switch 2. Decisions, decisions!
Thanks, I knew about the transfer but I haven't played in months an keep thinking maybe a new island save will get me back into playing again, but like you I've categorised like just about every item in the game so am stuck between wanting a new island but also not really wanting to lose everything I have lol, so I'll see how my mood is on the day lol

At first I was thinking about selling it, but with my neice now getting more an more into gaming I thought it be be a nice little "starter" console for her, right now she can play all the games where you just hold the joycon but we are working on learning her button control so am hoping we could maybe both play multiplayer at some time on both consoles, I've tried her on other consoles but still feel the Nintendo is the better one for her

I don’t think I’ll be rushing out to get one, I’m happy with my Steamdeck.
Same but also more to do with the fact that I bought the most expensive steam deck last year when I had some extra money and was able to treat myself. And now I don’t. If I had disposable income and money was no object then I’d buy it. But unfortunately not. 👎🏻
I’m still not using my steam deck to its full potential.

I wouldn't even mind a remake of an older animal crossing like some other games have done, where they have just updated features on it an maybe gave it a bit of a new look
I would LOVE that, even though I have them all and can play them. I would love them on the Switch.
