Currys are doing in store preorders only so you might have a chance at one since I would think they would limit the number of how many someone can buy
Cool - I might try that but it'll be a little while till I can get to a Currys!

Oh I forgot about this thread! My copy of Tears of the Kingdom arrived early yesterday and I've already spent hours on it.

I'm still getting used to the game, but I'm enjoying it so far. The new abilities take some learning, though.

You can play TotK if you've either never played BotW or haven't played BotW for a long time, as it introduces you to the mechanics again during the tutorial mode.

I really enjoyed Donkey Kong country : tropical freeze
I feel like that'll be the highlight of the franchise for a long time. Bananza looks like a 7/10, that'll be a hard sell at $80. Maybe they'll add a multiplayer that'll sell it, that could be fun.

This is probably the best video game music that has ever been made, the soundtrack for DK is always pretty good.

I've been enjoying my switch, it's such a difference not hearing it trying take off compared to my switch one, an then magnets are amazing

I've never been one to really read reviews, unless they get paid goodies they just bitch an when they get giving tons of stuff they kiss it's ass, an for once am glad there was no media switches given out, maybe it's me but am sick of these places getting stuff just so they can write a review then ditch it, cause you know none of them are gamers an will be playing it outside of the ten minutes to be able to do a review, so good for Nintendo for blocking the switch with a day one update that didn't realise till it's launch so that we all got to experience it at the same time
I have a couple of review YouTubers I would trust
Eeowna
switch-up
Ircha Gaming.

We have 2 Switch OLEDS, will be sharing the Switch 2 for now. How can we both play things like TOTK with a different save file? Is it just by logging into our own Nintendo account?

You will need to get the express one, I had originally wanted to take mine out the switch one an just use that but they have made it so you need the express, it's due to the speeds on the 2 or something
That’s the one I’m getting today. It’s the official NS2 one. Thanks though.

I'm gonna need someone to explain the Animal Crossing hype to me! We gave in and bought it in May and its not been touched since!

We love Tetris on the switch, especially playing online. Mario Kart and Luigi's Mansion are both great. Recently bought Ring Fit, we're still figuring that one out 🤣 but has been a laugh. We're thinking of getting Crash Bandicoot next bc its given us all the childhood flashbacks!

I've been thinking about it but I'm just not sure if it's worth it right now. I won't use the chat function. My OG Switch has a bit of drift I can't fix but...meh it's £430 with Mario and I just don't know if I'll get enough value out of it. Someone tell me what to do argh.

I'm surprised Nintendo allowed this keycard games thing. The waste of plastic isn't surprising from a Japanese company (can't even buy a rice ball from 7/11 without them sticking it in a bag like it's the 90s) but it's none of the advantages of physical media with all the disadvantages of a code. I'd be annoyed if I got one without knowing.

I hated the code in a box type of games they'd sell for switch 1 and the game key cards annoy me. Just put it on the cartridge please. I've not got a switch 2 yet. I'm holding out in hopes for a nice Pokemon bundle with the new game in october.

Nintendo's business model sometimes seems genius, sometimes exploitative.

I bought the pro controller for 50 and thought that was OK value. Very well made and for something like controllers it's often a false economy spending half the price for something that's massively inferior.

Has anyone got switch sports? I REALLY want it because WII sports was the bomb but i was also a kid when i had that and think as an adult i'd get real bored real quick!
It feels half finished honestly, a lot of stuff that was in Wii sports and Wii sports resort is missing.

Anyone else a bit meh over the new oled model? I've barely gone anywhere and always use it docked so wanted a hardware upgrade to run smoother. The bezels are still quite large, just a small incremental update

I'll be interested to see how the Xbox handheld does in sales with the switch just having been released

Personally even though I have a Xbox I won't be going out an getting their new handheld anytime soon, I feel like one handheld right now is enough

Makes me wonder if Sony will try to bring back the psp again, we are certainly getting into the age of handhelds now, psp was so ahead of it's time
We’ve got the PS Portal handheld, it’s quite good.
I didn’t know about the Xbox one til my boss mentioned it this morning. But I don’t think I’ll rush out for that one.
I just love playing handheld as I can have the TV on at the same time, or take it to work, play it in bed or on sofa.

That's my thing, its expensive and I doubt they;ll ever get proper good third party games, regardless of what some Hardcore Nintendo cultists will tell you.

I think the magnets will be great, they're known for making durable lasting products. I think they released the teaser now as production is ramping up and they're worried about leaks.

The events to let people try it out runs until June, I was thinking it would be a Q3 or even Q4 release. I think they'll want to have loads of units made and release, then have enough of a gap that they get a second holidays surge.

Nintendo Switch 2 Experience host cities and schedule. All dates are local.

If you want a 4k switch your best bet at getting away with it would be Curry's rather than robbing a bank to buy 😆

No sign of thE new switch announcement this week :( maybe next week with the direct

Looking forward to this, did go up to the shop to preorder but they aren't taking them just yet, am loving the new colour on it, gives it a more grown up feel to it, just wish they had done it blue an red rather than the orange to keep it tied in with the original but still, it's nice, I love the magnet aspect but hoping they don't eventually wear away with constantly snapping them on an off

Ah sorry I mean almost all games will be compatible out of the big ones! I think the ones that wont be will be more obscure titles.

Nintendo aren't know for giving anything away for free, so any game with improved performance I'd bet money on them charging for.

I'm interested to see the line up of launch games. They've spent years getting ready for this and should have a steady stream of great games for the next couple of years. I hope for their sake the big launch title isn't a Luigi one
