Can anyone please recommend games similar to Pokémon? Thinking action / RPG type games. Thank you
I am really enjoying My Time At Portia at the moment, there’s a bit of mining, easy combat, crafting, farming. So there is a bit of action. I’d recommend watching a video on it to see if it’s what you’re after

I'm really tempted to pre-order the new Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Switch.

I've had my Switch since launch, so it's six years old. It has a few issues (fan very noisy, memory card slot broken, etc). But the Switch is getting towards the end of its lifecycle now, so it'd probably be a bit silly to buy a new one at this point!

It does look beautiful, nicer than the Pokémon one IMO but like you I’m pressing on with my old one

Cool - I might try that but it'll be a little while till I can get to a Currys!
Hopefully you can grab one, am not sure if they are going to stand by in store only or if they will only do this for a limited time before going to online, highly suggest you sign up to Smyth's email notifications as well, they have been releasing preorders in phases all week, I believe they released more preorders today again

I’m holding off buying a Switch 2 until Animal Crossing. I think it will be next year or the year after as I think the Animal Crossing Devs make Tamagotchi life as well.

Does anyone play my time at sandrock on switch?

It's on gamepass right now an I've been hooked on it, so thinking it will be perfect for my switch for when am travelling, however the graphics aren't I'd say the greatest an that's on the series X which is far powerful than the switch

So am wondering what are graphics like on switch? Are the good enough or is it really grainy, an does is play ok without glitches? The one I seem to have on the Xbox is not being able to always pick up builds because my character is going through them
It’s supposed to be badly optimised on all platforms so the switch reviews put me off, Portia was really bad at first too, they’ve done better with patches but it’s still not great. Even the PC version of sandrock struggles on decent computers so I think the Devs have just done a shite job with it.

I've never been to a midnight release for anything. I'm not against the idea, I think I've just always managed to source what I want online before I've known about a midnight opening so then there's no point me going to one.

I guess I'd also have a bit of anxiety about queuing up at midnight and then being told I'm still not gonna get one because I'm too far back. 😂
Me neither but I do remember the days of folk queuing up for games or outside the Apple Store. I like my bed too much.

We’ve got the PS Portal handheld, it’s quite good.
I didn’t know about the Xbox one til my boss mentioned it this morning. But I don’t think I’ll rush out for that one.
I just love playing handheld as I can have the TV on at the same time, or take it to work, play it in bed or on sofa.
Same, I love my handheld for taking about with me an its been amazing for travelling as I've found I don't get too much motion sickness if I have it

I had looked at the portal when it come out an people said it works off the remote play, so tried remote play on my phone just to see what it would be like an it was horrendous, my ps also kept clicking itself off despite me putting it on to stay on sleep mode, am not sure if the Xbox one is similar in which is streams games rather than the switch where you can buy physical games for it, but I won't be rushing out to buy anything that's purely a stream as the internet around me at times is no where near enough to keep them running smoothly, it's how I love the switch, doesn't need to be online to play

Totally agree. I played Streets of Rage 2, Streetfighter and Road Rage as a teen and I’m not going around kicking ass and punching people off motorbikes
Exactly, like I was a kid an teen with the GTA games, an while they aren't as graphic as today's, kids still play all these games, I also remember street fighter that my cousin's had an we all played, then you had the TV shows like south park we all snuck downstairs to watch at night lol

A little bit of sass talk in a game is really nothing now to what kids are exposed too

I hope there will be a new FE game, I've been replying all mine again

Also wonder when they will start to put up which games will be backwards compatible, am assuming most of the newer ones will, but not sure about the older, be a shame to lose them

I'll be interested to see how the Xbox handheld does in sales with the switch just having been released

Personally even though I have a Xbox I won't be going out an getting their new handheld anytime soon, I feel like one handheld right now is enough

Makes me wonder if Sony will try to bring back the psp again, we are certainly getting into the age of handhelds now, psp was so ahead of it's time
Im curious about it. I love handhelds. I have a Steam deck and a portal. I think I would get more use out of the Xbox in a handheld.

I'm really hoping mine arrives before the launch, even though I don't love the design and how it's all very boring modern.

I rocked the original DS and have grown to love its clunky awkward design.

I went to the Nintendo museum last year and they had a keyring mystery box. One of 6 things you could get and ended up with the original DS :D
Who have you pre-ordered yours with? I've got mine coming from ShopTo and they sent me an email the other day saying Nintendo have requested Switch 2 consoles aren't sent until the day before release for arrival on the release date itself. I know most online retailers will choose 24 hour delivery given it's a higher value item, but some will likely arrive late and - based on their communication - it's very unlikely any will arrive early.

I get what you mean about the design. It's kind of a shame that it's not a bit more different to the Switch, but I get that they didn't want to depart from the handheld aspect, given that's one of the most popular aspects of the original.

I'd love to go to the Nintendo museum! You lucked out there with an original DS. I've still got my 3DS XL and charged it up the other day. It looked a lot more dated than I remembered, but it's still fun to play games on it.

Has anyone else been playing skyward sword?

I just want to finish it now, but the final boss stuff is too difficult to me no matter how much I watch guides that say just jump back. :( Don't think I can go and find any more hearts and each time I want to try it I need to go right back to the top inside the temple to sit down to refill the hearts
I think I beat it through luck in the end, at least my 20th go! I remember it being a nightmare on the Wii as well.
