My niece got a Switch for Christmas, I hadn't really given them much thought. But when I was looking after her one day when she was off school sick, she was showing me Crash Bandicoot, and oh my goodness I really want one now! It had the exact same levels as the one I played as a youngster on my PS1 😢 so nostalgic.
I got Crash bundle during the e store sale and for all three for £17.50 - total blast from the past and I actually suck at playing it but it’s keeping me entertained.

Yaaay.
I tell ya, I’ve never been through the check out so fast in my life 😂
It’s great cos I was not looking forward to a week of constantly checking to see if anyone had put preorders up early 😂
Our Smyth's used to be open to 8pm but now shut at 6pm, an I sent my mum up when the direct was on since I was working in the hopes the preorder would go live at the end, I was not looking forward to trying to beat scalpers online, so when I got my notification I about broke my legs trying get card details so I could snag one 😂

Ohh let me know what you do, for me personally I've been enjoying starting again, pretty much have everything back again, got nooks, got ables getting built an ready tomorrow, got I think 6 villagers now (although some of them getting kicked the hell off soon 😅) I think all I really need now is for nooks to upgrade an to unlock terraforming

But it has been fun catching all the bugs an fish again an getting the fossils

Has anyone else been playing skyward sword?

I just want to finish it now, but the final boss stuff is too difficult to me no matter how much I watch guides that say just jump back. :( Don't think I can go and find any more hearts and each time I want to try it I need to go right back to the top inside the temple to sit down to refill the hearts
Not me, but my son. He has said exactly the same as you, even when he jumps back as much as he can be still can't beat the boss. My husband is going to have a go today and see if he can do it.

Stick it in your bag and have lots of loo breaks? 😆

I'm going to see if I can change mine to collect in store.
Oh man I wish 🤣 it just had to be the absolute worst day of the week, if it had been Mon/Tues/wed I'd have taken it to work with me since am on my own an am off Friday an the weekends, Thursday is like my only day with the boss in an it being busy 😭 they could not have timed this worse lol

If I had some day one games I'd maybe have seriously thought about taking the day off, but I don't have anything so will just work it an wait impatiently till am home an can get a proper go on it, am tempted to maybe buy the new runes game, but right now it's the only one I've really got on my list, was so hoping for a new FE game on launch but no luck

Are you getting it from Smyth's? I want to change to click and collect but I've not idea how to do that or if I can

Depends on what you like, I tend to stick to the more known company's because Nintendo has a habit of allowing junk to go into their store, but I do find myself always going back to the fire emblem games, stardew valley, fae farm, atelier games, my time at sandrock

If you enjoyed a little to the left you might also like hue, the witness, shady part of me, gris, botony manor, jusant, Marquette, dorgdone, broken age, the gardens between, superliminal, twelve minutes, carto, Omno, all of them have that puzzle element to them, am not sure if all of them or some are on Nintendo, I play all so it's hard to keep track of who has who, but all are I'd say a few hours worth of play so definitely grab them when on sale, I find that once you play a puzzle game there's no real replay with them since you know how it's done after completing but they are fun for a one off

Spiritfarer is also a really sweet game, an unpacking is really nice as well, another little puzzle game
This is amazing, thank you! I've played Botany Manor and Stardew Valley but none of the others. Will take a look.

See if you can sign up for Smyth's, I've had two emails from them so far for preordering it, I managed to grab one with the first email but today I got another, hopefully you might get some luck with them
I'll try! Good to see they have the Switch 2 accessories on there, but weird that you can only pre-order one item at a time.

Won't the direct be sooner? I thought when it gave that 3 month date it was for it's release, so we'd be getting a direct before it's out, or have I picked it up wrong
Yeah it’s only the Direct that’s in April. No release date has been said yet. I’ve seen people saying June or September but it’s just guesses.

Hopefully you can grab one, am not sure if they are going to stand by in store only or if they will only do this for a limited time before going to online, highly suggest you sign up to Smyth's email notifications as well, they have been releasing preorders in phases all week, I believe they released more preorders today again
Thanks for all your tips. :D

I hope there will be a new FE game, I've been replying all mine again

Also wonder when they will start to put up which games will be backwards compatible, am assuming most of the newer ones will, but not sure about the older, be a shame to lose them
It looks like the joycon have lost the IR sensor so I reckon the only games that won’t be compatible are ones that use that (which is about 6 total lol) along with labo (where you have to put the switch into the cardboard and the newer one prob won’t fit along with losing the IR sensor) and maybe ring fit if the original joycons aren’t compatible with the new switch.

Nothing major to worry about I expect, just the physical changes taking a few out, and a couple probably being mostly compatible minus specific features (eg brain training uses the IR for a couple of games but you’d still be able to play without those and there’s already an option to skip them anyway).

If you like Mario odyssey type platform games, then you’ll love Luigi’s mansion. I first completed it in January and then played it again from the start last week. I love it. Marios odyssey was fab. I’m always gutted when I finish a game. Animal crossing hasn’t really been sold to me either. I’m waiting for ray man to arrive now.
I loved Mario Odyssey and was really excited about Luigi's Mansion, but I just couldn't get into it. ☹ I really didn't like the controls! I actually traded it in for Animal Crossing, which I'm loving, but really hating all these annoying influencers jumping on the hype!

Ah sorry I mean almost all games will be compatible out of the big ones! I think the ones that wont be will be more obscure titles.

Nintendo aren't know for giving anything away for free, so any game with improved performance I'd bet money on them charging for.

I'm interested to see the line up of launch games. They've spent years getting ready for this and should have a steady stream of great games for the next couple of years. I hope for their sake the big launch title isn't a Luigi one
I think they’re different IR sensors as these seem to be located on the side rather than the bottom so anything that relied on the current gen ones will either need an update for the new orientation or won’t work - eg labo where the joycon placement within the cardboard simply won’t work if the sensor isn’t at the bottom. That said there are only a tiny fraction of games that rely on it so I think it’s a fair enough sacrifice.

I doubt anything that isn’t physically ruled out like that won’t be backwards compatible - like the 3DS could play all DS games except those with controllers or accessories that needed the GBA slot.

there’s a nintendo direct tomorrow and i’m so hoping for any animal crossing crumbs
This would sway me to buy a Switch 2. Semi tempted by kirby air riders, but not enough i dont think. An actual new Mario party game and not a small add on would also do it. As is think im going to hold out until my switch dies, not excited enough about the new Mario kart and other current games.

I like the look of it but I’m not sure if I want one as I’m a Steamdeck girlie now. At least Steam will refund if you’ve bought a game, played a short try and decided you don’t like it.

Thinking of buying a Switch, mainly because they may remaster Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine (one of my favourite GameCube games).

Yeah it’s such a shame as the switch is definitely capable of running a game like it just fine.

hopefully they manage to sort it out on all platforms, think they are like a lot of devs recently who seem to be rushing their games out and then fixing after
That's true, there's been so many that's been broken on release, I get that you can't tell if there will be bugs until it's out but surely some of them know the game isn't in any fit state to go out, look at cyberpunk for instance, complete disaster, I'd rather wait longer an have a more polished game than them rush it out then have to fix it

Natethehate has given us some info about a possible direct this week (maybe a mini or partner for the switch 1 games) around Thursday, am wondering if I should take it with a pinch of salt or not since we are so close to the actual direct that Nintendo advertised

Natethehate has been so far correct with the switch 2 preview date being dropped and also what the switch would look like plus it's name soooo
