I got one just before this lockdown started as after spending all day with my husband (and 2 kids but that’s the norm for me!) I would want something to do of an evening to switch off! I’ve been playing animal crossing and professor Layton....tempted to get two point hospital next

I completed and spent 160 hours on Mario Odyssey lol. I loved it.

I bought Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and became obsessed, complete nostalgia trip.

Not me, but my son. He has said exactly the same as you, even when he jumps back as much as he can be still can't beat the boss. My husband is going to have a go today and see if he can do it.

I don't want to sound bitter but I don't think it's a very well designed battle. The breath of the wild final one was tricky but slowly you learnt more and more and progressed. This one nothing and the setup each time to get there with all the hearts is tedious. It'll be another darker side of the moon where it took me years to actually get it done

Is anyone else not 100% convinced about Donkey Kong Bananza?

It looks a bit unfinished and empty in the short clips they've released. Giving vibes of the Pokémon Scarlett and Violet. I don't think it's going to be anywhere on the same level as Mario Odyssey.

Yeah I’ve been on the fence about that one.

I have a Switch Lite I don’t play much but I’m thinking about getting a Switch 2.

The thing is I think I would want to keep the Lite for when I travel. I’ve realised that that would mean I would have to buy the Switch 1 version of games but I’m not sure I’d be able to play on both? And will I be able to use the same account across both devices?

June 5th for the release an April 8th for the pre orders, looks to be for the UK £395.99 for the console an £425.99 if you want Mario cart with it

That's a pity because it's such a good game, but I don't want to pay for it if it's really struggling, with it being on gamepass it was no loss if it was bad or not, it is playable on Xbox but compared to other games you can tell it's struggling which is why I didn't want to go straight out an get it on switch

Hopefully they can patch it up, I do have other cosy games on the switch but it's always nice to add another am enjoying

Yeah it’s such a shame as the switch is definitely capable of running a game like it just fine.

hopefully they manage to sort it out on all platforms, think they are like a lot of devs recently who seem to be rushing their games out and then fixing after

What’s everyone else hoping for?

I’d like a June release date. Preferably on or near my birthday
Probably too early for Animal Crossing but I can dream.
Also, bring back Nintendogs.

It makes sense to finish BotW first, as TotK picks up a few months after the events of BotW.

I think it might get a bit confusing playing the two at the same time.

Thanks, I'll get it finished first, maybe by the time I finish it then TotK will be a little cheaper as well

It feels half finished honestly, a lot of stuff that was in Wii sports and Wii sports resort is missing.

thanks i did think this would be the case, i have felt like this about a few switch games now. Maybe it will go super cheap in a few weeks to boost sales!

I think so, the ds ones were better but the switch ones enjoyable enough. Thiers loads of extra downloadable puzzles away from the main story as well.

Not me just went an pre-ordered from Smyth's my switch is dying a slow an annoying death plus my niece has gotten into gaming an trys to take over with it when she's here so she can have it (till it finally dies) an I'll take the switch 2

I'll be interested to see how the Xbox handheld does in sales with the switch just having been released

Personally even though I have a Xbox I won't be going out an getting their new handheld anytime soon, I feel like one handheld right now is enough

Makes me wonder if Sony will try to bring back the psp again, we are certainly getting into the age of handhelds now, psp was so ahead of it's time

Agree, they've always been ones to sell tech that's a few years old, gone down in price and has good profit margins.

This is a bit of a departure but seems like the right move. I really want to play GTA 6 but even if they did manage to port it to the switch that's not how I'd want to play it.

Guessing they've got a big game coming out for Christmas? Should be Mario O 2

Yeah I can't really see a Switch 2 version of GTA 6, but never say never (after all there was a lower resolution Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy).

I'll get GTA 6 for the PS5 and, even then, I wouldn't be surprised if it'll struggle a bit like the the PS3 version of GTA 5 did.

Hard to believe the Switch 2 is less than a week away. Doesn't seem five minutes since it was announced.

I'd like to pick one up but I've never been a Nintendo guy, and Its pretty expensive for what it is. Thoughts?

I think it depends on the games, it's how I have one, it was never gotten because of its specs since tbh they are still a bit dated, it's great for traveling but the steam deck could also be good for that

Really it would come down to if you see yourself wanting a lot of their games an are fine paying for them, Nintendo are expensive an rarely if ever have deals, I'll usually pick up mine in places like Smyth's when they themselves have offers on but you are still talking full price on some games that's like 10 year old, so I'd maybe take a look at their category an see if there's any that stand out that your only going get on their system an see if it's worth it that way

Nice! How exciting. If you're anything like me, you'll be peering out the window any time something that sounds like a van is nearby.

DPD's website has updated and mine's on track for delivery tomorrow. I'm working from home, though, so I can't play it till the evening. But there's no harm in me setting it up and downloading Mario Kart World in my lunch break...

Just posting to say that hubby had ordered ours via Shopto months ago. He checked again on Wed night for an update or despatch info and… nothing!

They still hadn’t taken the money and all references to it had vanished.

Luckily he found that Smyths toys had them in and ordered and paid for one straight away, which we collected yesterday lunchtime

We spent last night playing new Mariokart, reliving a bit of my childhood playing Gameboy Dr Mario, and hours lost on the GameCube version of Zelda.

That's annoying! I ordered mine with ShopTo and, once they told me I was eligible for release day delivery, I had to pay in full within 24 hours of pre-ordering. That was a month or so ago.

I didn't really want to, given there was still no guarantee at the time, but I guess they didn't want people ordering who then had no means to pay when it came to the release date. It arrived fine yesterday.

So I wonder if they emailed your husband to pay and maybe he just assumed it was an order confirmation email? Just an idea. Not that it really matters now anyway.
