Well, after waiting all day yesterday and two calls to customer service this morning, my delivery will be out later today apparently. Although that’s what they said yesterday and I’ve no time window yet so who knows.

And all this on my birthday 😩

I think the apple stuff was always silly, it was only ever a new rectangle that does the same things a little bit better.

I remember getting the N64 at midnight and going home with mario 64. That game was mind-blowing at the time 😆. People were amazed at just stretching his face.

I'd only go for a midnight for collection of a system already reserved, no time to be wasting like those that line up for a labubu without even knowing what one they'll get!

Pokemon sword!

I've just finished the main game, thinking of getting the expansion. I've enjoyed this one way more than the last few (black/white, x/y, sun/moon) but it has made me want to go back and revisit them on my DS 😬

I have Professor Layton to finish next

Heyy, im looking to buy Nintendo Switch do i need to buy sd card with it
I got mine from amazon, didn't cost much an was tons cheaper than the official Nintendo switch one, was a San disc ultra micro sd card, I got the 400gb one thinking I needed huge space lol but apparently Nintendo games are quite small so I don't think you'd need one as huge as that, works great for me

Nintendo could make their consoles the equivalent of the latest gen if they really wanted to, but they've never really been about that. They make most of their money from their exclusives like Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, etc etc. So as long as their consoles are good enough to run those, then they're sorted.
Agree, they've always been ones to sell tech that's a few years old, gone down in price and has good profit margins.

This is a bit of a departure but seems like the right move. I really want to play GTA 6 but even if they did manage to port it to the switch that's not how I'd want to play it.

Guessing they've got a big game coming out for Christmas? Should be Mario O 2

Finally completed skyward sword! Spent so much time on that final boss and did it with 8 hearts left!

I don't think I'll ever play it again and do side quests after that. Lovley music and it looked great. But the motion controls are a nightmare, never want to use them again.

I just got super excited as a DPD van pulled up outside. He had 2 boxes in his hand, one was stuff for my OH and the other was for the neighbour 😂

New horizons was my fist AC game, so it would be cool to play the older ones with a new modern look to see what they were like, some of the fire emblem games have done that, just remade the older ones with newer updated designs an its how I ended up really loving them, I'd reckon it would also cut down some time as well on getting the games out since they aren't really starting from scratch an are just giving it a fresh look
I would love this but the older games has incredibly sassy villagers. Static told me he hoped my house would burn down in Wild World. That would not fly now👀

Is TotK a continuation of BotW? I've been playing BotW for the first time, no idea how far into it I am but am curious to see what TotK is like, I don't want to spoil any of the story of BotW though if it's picking up where it left off, am I better just completing BotW first?
It makes sense to finish BotW first, as TotK picks up a few months after the events of BotW.

I think it might get a bit confusing playing the two at the same time.

You can't set times on the Switch itself, they've got an app on their phone that controls the Switch, though. Not really sure how it works, I just know it turns off the Switch after 1 hour, 30 mins of play.
Thanks I'll look into it for when she's a bit older an is starting to properly game, the one downside to the switch is it's lack of parental controls, I can completely control the Xbox an PS from my phone so now absolutely everything that's happening if she's on them but with the switch it's not quite as in depth or controlling as the others, but at least it has the switch off option as that will probably be one of the things I do need the most control on

I have a Switch Lite I don’t play much but I’m thinking about getting a Switch 2.

The thing is I think I would want to keep the Lite for when I travel. I’ve realised that that would mean I would have to buy the Switch 1 version of games but I’m not sure I’d be able to play on both? And will I be able to use the same account across both devices?
You can "loan" the games for up to two weeks, but if you loan it to one system then I don't believe you can play it on the other, it does look very much to be like one game can only be played on one console at a time, so if you were traveling I'd imagine you would just "loan" your game out to it an play an then after two weeks it would go back onto your switch

Am not sure how the same account on both would work, I'd like to imagine you could keep your account for both an it will be fine, like surely they must know some people are going to keep one for travelling an another for their home, or if it were kids with parents in different houses then a console in each house

Ooft I dunno if I could restart over an over haha, I've had my island since day one way back when it launched, but I suppose that might be a good idea to keep it fresh an fun, all my mind keeps doing is going back to "oh but you have this an this" 😆

I never knew you could set times on the switch, I know that it's pretty hard to lock down compared to the others, right now she only really plays when we are together but in time I might need to learn that lol

Well, after a DPD van passing my house, a third call to customer service and an hour round trip to pick it up at the depot, I finally have it.

I guess if nothing else, I have a story to tell…. And a Switch 2 🥰

i bet that’s what will happen😭 i just want a new animal crossing so bad and i want them to put more effort in because new horizons got so boring so quick unfortunately 💔💔💔
Yeah NH just felt like it was abandoned. Like I get the whole deserted island idea but they really could have put more into in. Taking out the mini games was ridiculous.

I think the Zelda tears... gold joycons are the best version they've released. Hopefully get some like that coming out for Christmas.

I know it's hard to do much with design when everything is a slab of glass with a screen, but remember when design was this - and his cheeks even lit up!

The switch 2 is surprisingly well powered (for a Nintendo machine). It's not quite as far behind technologically as they usually are.

But games like GT6 I doubt will be coming out on it, or if they do then it'll lose many of the features.

A big part of why the switch was so successful is they could re-release all the wii U games that flopped. They're going to have to invest a lot more in games this cycle. Probably why they slowed down and they didn't need to put a lot out with mario kart 8 still selling so well despite being 11 years old.
Oh it's definitely well powered for a little Nintendo hand held machine, I was just meaning compared to current consoles it's not quite there yet but then there's quite a difference in the switch compared to the Xbox an PS

I am worried about the screen share an how well that will work, it looks like such a good add on for them an considering others don't have it then it's a fun novelty to have but I wonder how draining that might be especially if it's in handheld mode, from the commercial it does look to be a bit laggy but am hoping it's not going be one of those things that continuously loses connection an affects the game while it tries to reboot itself, hopefully it's something they can continue to work on with updates an its not going be a once an done thing when it launches

Apparently we may have a direct around launch time as well

I agree, their own games play well an are perfect quality an will always be the priority for them which I totally get, I think they must know most people do have another console so it's no big deal to them, really the only games I see struggle are the more realistic ones, the animation type seem fine, but once you go into heavier graphics that's where it starts to cut back on quality to be able to offer the game

I'd like to use screen share just more for fun, am happy it's finally got voice chat because I really could have used that with a few games at times, but if it comes down to having to have screen share off to improve the quality of the chat I'll take the chat over it, I'd rather be able to talk an hear clearly than watch a friend's game
Yeah voice chat is good. I saw lots complaining about it saying "you can just use discord for chat!" or "why add it now and act like it's revolutionary?"

But I've come to realise there are lots of gamers who seem to criticise Nintendo regardless. 😂 I don't mean you btw!
