It’s supposed to be badly optimised on all platforms so the switch reviews put me off, Portia was really bad at first too, they’ve done better with patches but it’s still not great. Even the PC version of sandrock struggles on decent computers so I think the Devs have just done a shite job with it.

That's a pity because it's such a good game, but I don't want to pay for it if it's really struggling, with it being on gamepass it was no loss if it was bad or not, it is playable on Xbox but compared to other games you can tell it's struggling which is why I didn't want to go straight out an get it on switch

Hopefully they can patch it up, I do have other cosy games on the switch but it's always nice to add another am enjoying

I kinda feel like recipes, things breaking and wearing the right clothes for the weather was a bit too complicated for me in the last one.

Any game that talks about crafting I think I don't have the time for this

I wish there was an option for old and no patience and took it took out some of this stuff that doesn't appeal to people who are stuck in the past and loved n64 Zelda.

Things breaking is IT for me. I just cannot be bothered with weapons breaking on me every 5 minutes Don't mind the clothes thing so much but I really hate that weapons break so easily

Guessing they've got a big game coming out for Christmas? Should be Mario O 2

Am hoping maybe for an animal crossing game for Xmas, I've heard rumours of maybe a 3d mario but it's hard to tell with Mario being a launch title, I think Pokémon is close to the holiday, Oct maybe?

They seem to be included in the summer feast which is June 6th, not sure if Nintendo have ever been part of it before but they are named for this year

I registered my interest with ShopTo back in January but I got an email today telling me I'm not among those who will get one on release day. I'm guessing I wasn't quick enough to hit the button in January. So I'll keep it there for now in case people ahead of me in the queue don't end up wanting or paying for one.

Also on Amazon you can register to be "invited" to pre-order which I found interesting. Not sure if they're going to see how loyal a customer you are (eg length of Prime membership, how often you return stuff etc) before letting you pre-order or maybe they're doing it to try and stop scalpers pre-ordering en masse. Regardless I've registered to be invited, so we'll see.

Argos and Very had pre-orders up but they all went before I realised.

I'll keep trying but may have to accept this could be one of the first Nintendo consoles I won't get on the release date. Such is life.

I'm in NZ so getting it from a store I've never heard of before Hifi something , it's annoying as I had a cheaper order in Amazon but had to cancel it and although It's not too bad $800 NZ seems a fortune!

I'm half expecting it not to arrive until late June.

Ooft good luck I've always went with stores I know an have good rep, there's a store here called Game an they have terrible reputation, I avoid them like the plague (super over priced as well) an my god am I glad I did because they have cancelled everyone's preorders due to "problems" they said, an its less than a week to go, I would not like to be trying to scramble to grab a console elsewhere at this stage

Yeah I was looking into changing to click and collect too but can’t see any way to do it. I had no idea they did midnight releases outside of the US.
Just going to keep my fingers crossed that it’s delivered early.

Usually they don't, I've always known them to have early releases like I got my Xbox at 8am when it launched, they will sometimes open at either 7am or 8am as well to preorder, but I can't remember the last console that actually had a midnight release, maybe the PS2? So it's surprising they are doing it for this one especially when I'd say PS an Xbox are bigger names an had more demand

I'm not actually in a huge rush to play it, I'm more interested in trying the magnets

I think Nintendo did launch it on purpose without an amazing launch line up as they don't need to, the improved games sell it and when they need a boost for the holidays the big games can come out.

Yeah I’m not in a huge rush either. I mean I’ll play Mario cart but it’s not something I would’ve bought if it hadn’t come with the game.

If you like Mario odyssey type platform games, then you’ll love Luigi’s mansion. I first completed it in January and then played it again from the start last week. I love it. Marios odyssey was fab. I’m always gutted when I finish a game. Animal crossing hasn’t really been sold to me either. I’m waiting for ray man to arrive now.

I thought it was an upgrade to the IR sensors? And now both will have them.

All games will be compatible, but the big question is will the original ones work with a performance upgrade. It would be so Nintendo to charge extra for patches for original games to run with the upgraded specs. I'm picturing a $20 switch 2 update fee per game

Does anyone play my time at sandrock on switch?

It's on gamepass right now an I've been hooked on it, so thinking it will be perfect for my switch for when am travelling, however the graphics aren't I'd say the greatest an that's on the series X which is far powerful than the switch

So am wondering what are graphics like on switch? Are the good enough or is it really grainy, an does is play ok without glitches? The one I seem to have on the Xbox is not being able to always pick up builds because my character is going through them

Switch 2 first look, really glad they've changed how it connects and no more sliding - snapping magnets will be great! Looks a bit generic, all black and quite as iconic looking as the previous and most of their other machines. I'd want to get with the red and blue joycons. The bezel is still pretty big, but Nintendo are about the profit margin rather than making high end stuff so to be expected.

For looks it looks pretty nice, mines is the older one an has the blue an red sides, I still like it an am not sure graphic wise on the TV there would be much difference between the two although I find handheld mode is better for me

Been pretty addicted to fire emblem three houses, an looking forward to trying the voice of cards, I like that they allow you to have demos of most of the games because for some reason the switch games seem to be incredible expensive

Random question, can you bookmark games on the switch?

Everytime I go onto the switch there's a game I haven't played at the start, it's got a little box above it with a ↓ on it, I've no idea how I done that, did I bookmark it an if so can you remove it so you can bookmark another?

It doesn't bother me, just made me curious as to what it is an how I done it

Is the cart for that game in the Switch? The box you describe sounds like the little cart picture to me. If the cart is in it will always be at the start.
