Was she right at the top of the bank when walking? It looks like she may have had time to stop herself if she fell all the way down. I guess that's why the sudden medical emergency makes sense.

Yes calling the police immediately does seem an extreme reaction, that’s why my initial thoughts were that there’s more behind it, maybe MH crisis, but I can’t get past her leaving the dog like that.
I guess because her phone was still connected to the call, and there was no sign of Nicola, that was worrying enough. I do think if I went on a dog walk and someone found my phone connected to a call that had ended and I was nowhere to be seen, people would panic.
I don't know. Yes thats what I mean if someone bought your dog back surely the first thing you'd do is call the person who was walking the dog?

I was scrolling through tiktok earlier and that Mark Williams-Thomas popped up give his tuppence worth. Basically a 50 second update, missing out a ton of information that was given at the press conference, and at the end piped "Follow me every day for more updates"I don’t knowthere is a lot of coverage though isn’t there and I don’t mean that in a horrible way either

Yes as my first reaction would probably be to alert the original dog walker that the dog was safe and to make their way home. I also thought an adult was left 24 hours before the police do anything for a ‘missing person’

But they found the dog and the lead and harness and phone all close together didn’t they? I’m really confused actually about whether the same person found the dog and the phone. I thought it was the same person but then the reporting has confused me.
Would you not have a quick look round for the owner esp if a mobile was also there?

My sister knocked her head on a lamp and we laughed to the point of being hysterical while being in the most awful environment. We kept apologising inbetween but genuinely couldn’t stop. I’m sure it was the shock
Yeah I can’t work that out at all. And calling her daughter in law to ask whose dog it was.
I dont think there is anyone else in involved - if she was snatched there would be signs of struggle. My gut is that she ran off and committed suicide somewhere. I don’t buy the whole going in the water scenario - the dog would have gone to her if she’d fallen in. It’s so tragic that after a week no one knows anything

There's nowhere to go to commit suicide far enough (especially in the short space she went missing) where police wouldn't of found her yet, it has been a week. Suicide hasn't crossed my mind for a minute.
Speaking as someone who owns is owned by a springer spaniel I cannot say this clearly enough - you can’t say with any certainty that Willow would have jumped into the river even if she saw Nicola in the water.
There was a massive drop. Spaniels are wimps.
There was no incentive for a dog to jump in (I mean a tennis ball - not a person)
Nicola (if she fell) would likely have been under water very quickly and not reappeared - Willow wouldn’t have seen her again to decide ‘this is fun’
