Usually when there’s a tragedy in my area anyways people make food, offer to cover childcare expenses or mind the kids and even the go fund me pages are created to cover the cost of unexpected funerals and support the remaining family members if they are in need but I’ve never seen such a specific amount being requested like this, surely the police & divers wouldn’t charge the family of the victims for their services would they?

Fantastic recap as per @InTheDollsHouse
Thoughts are with the family. Those poor children, i hope they don’t have to wait too much longer for answers x

I agree with what you’ve said. I’m quite shocked at this actually. The money for the police search is coming from the public purse and the Specialist Forensic guy is doing his work for free?

If this Emma White Facebook profile is legit then so is the GFM. She also created this public group yesterday called ‘#bringnikkihome’. Not much in the group yet apart from video of the SGI vans turning up last night.

ETA it is legit as she’s friends with Nicola and Paul.

#BringNikkiHome! doesn't sound like they believe she fell into the river and died.

Someone commented on a Facebook post that the kids go to a private school? Does anyone know if this is true? Maybe they need money for school fees if so?

It’s probably been discussed here, but does anyone else think she may have had some mental breakdown and just took herself away? It happens even in the most loving of families.

I don’t disagree with you, I would be totally fucked if I suddenly had no income (as would most people I imagine), but the thing that makes me nervous is the fact it’s a GFM and the fact it’s been set up by a ‘family friend’ for a huge amount of money when there’s no actual outcome yet of what has happened to Nicola.

Maybe if it had been set up by N’s sister, or another close relative, I’d feel more at ease.

Maybe if it was clear what the (massive amount of) money was for (eg to cover x months of Nikki’s usual salary, or to cover x months of mortgage payments) and it was to ensure the children have as stable a life as possible for the next 12 months, no matter what happens.

There’s been so many dodgy GFM over the past few years, it just seems a very random time to do it. They’re desperately trying to focus on Nicola being alive and coming home, but at the same time they’re asking for tens of thousands of pounds to help the family keep going…

(This reply isn’t aimed solely at you. I’m thinking out loud)

Bit weird to have a GFM set up, she’s a mortgage advisor so mostly likely has a decent life insurance policy, and death in service policy with employer too.
the forensic ppl are searching the river for free and the police don’t charge either- it’s a bit weird if u ask me.
