The possibility of Nicola coming home again is still there if she’s been taken or she’s wandered off in some kind of MH crisis I guess - vs the certainty of her not coming back if she ended up in the water

Well as I posted in the last thread it reminds me of another case where the woman drowned but her mental health wasn’t mentioned until a year after her death when the family spoke about it nor did the Police ever state during the time she was missing that they found a note in her handbag saying ‘I can’t cope anymore’.

So maybe Nicola did have some mental health problems or reasons for the family to believe she might have voluntarily ran away?

They’ve said they feel after ruling out other scenarios they think Nicola has sadly fallen into the river.

I’ve never suggested or thought it was foul play. But their whoopsie she must have fallen in the river angle isn’t substantial either without evidence a body or witness accounts. So perhaps don’t put words in peoples mouths

If you look at St Michael's on googlemaps there is no way to get to another large open field without going through/past a ton of houses.

There is a path up to Allotment Lane, which backs on the the camping site. Allotment Lane leads to a road to the East which bypasses the main row of shops and The Grapes pub. The path leading to Allotment Lane also connects to another path, which leads to a wooded area. To the south of that is a bridge which leads to the other side of the river.

Police are trying to identify this woman, as they believe she may be a witness.

She has been identified and has already spoken with the police. Unfortunately she was unable to help.

I’m being so serious when I ask this - what should he have done then? Simultaneously phoned and not phoned the police?

So if he hadn’t phoned the police and the DIL(of the woman who found the phone and dog) told the police when questioned that she rang the partner at xx time and he didn’t ring the police until xx time later the question would be why?

Heres a question.... would the dog be in a agitated state if she couldn't find her owner in a 10 min window or would it just be wandering around?

DM says the police are appealing for dashcam footage from that area with no cctv.

I took that as an appeal for extra footage just because the more they have the better - just in case. But I got the impression they'd got enough CCTV to cover routes to and from the towpath (after all, I assume there can only be two, given the fact it's right by a river and there's no road near to the bench).

I think that's what's giving the Police the confidence she went into the river.

Some Canberra used iñ water for swimming/sports etc

I can wear mine in the shower and to swim although I'm not sure of the exact depth it's waterproof to. I'd guess that immersed in a river it would become waterlogged within 24 hours but I don't know for certain. They'll have the data from the app on her phone.

I had wondered initially if the phone was a work phone but given they know when the fitbit last synced to it, it must be her personal phone.

I heard Nicola’s friend say ‘definitely no ball’ on sky news but I don’t think she can state that as a fact, maybe Nicola decided to actually take a ball that morning knowing the teams meeting would go on a while and thought the ball would be a good distraction for Willow whilst she sat on the bench.

She said it with absolutely no certainty. Literally just waffling for the news reporter.

I'm a little surprised at how some closest to Nicola have implied that she can't possibly of had an accident because shes just not that type of person, it really doesn't matter how good a wife or mother or daughter or well dressed etc no one is above the unexpected happening, like they seem truly offended that people or the police would think she was capable of doing something as ordinary as tripping in the wrong place .

I can't warm to the sister or the friends for this reason. The person who said it yesterday was right.

According to Sky, HM Coastguard divers are helping with the search but I wonder if they are looking in the Irish Sea or the actual River Wyre, as the police also asked the public to keep an eye out along there for clothing.

If any remains were to get stuck on such a winding river, how possible would it ever be that they'd make it out to sea? Would they not stay lodged in the river?

Because they haven’t kept the public updated? They never do, that’s why it’s police work.

Whilever we aren't kept updated, we can only go with what little we know. Until we know more, I think my point is perfectly valid.

I didn't include it as I wasn't aware of it at the time. That is what I have seen just now.

He was also most likely informed by the police (as they made a statement soon after) that they’re considering it to be an accident and that she most likely drowned. He might have been responding like that with that in mind rather than saying: she’s never coming back because I’ve killed her.

That could well be the case, I was of the impression that some family members are disputing police theories that she drowned.

Perhaps her partner told the Police on that day Nicola could/or did have a ball with her.

I am not sure why this can't be made public, as it could help if the public know to keep an eye out for dog balls.
