Yes they’re right. I saw it earlier and was going to share some screen shots here but decided not to as I’m going through my own struggles and just don’t feel up being jumped on by the tattle police (a very small minority I must add; most of you are lovely) Let’s just say, it almost makes the TikTok look tame!
Hope you're ok.

I don’t know how you intended that to sound, so I am sorry if I’ve got this wrong, but - to me - it sounded like you meant it as the worst thing in the world that could happen.

I haven’t ever been sectioned, and haven’t had an inpatient stay, but I’m very lucky that I have private healthcare (through work) which means that my therapy and my psychiatrist are both at a Priory location.

They are without doubt the best thing I could have hoped for. They have been a lifeline when things have felt like there’s no way to keep going.

Mental health treatment isn’t something to be ashamed of, or scared of, but it carries such a stigma. And those of us who need it are often afraid of admitting that we need the help because of all the irrational thoughts that take over.

The help is there.
The work is hard.
But it’s worth it.
I don’t think it’s the worst thing in the world and nor should it appear that way, but to some people being sectioned might be a frightening thought, and it might give them a complex thinking that others think they are a danger. I don’t see nothing wrong in seeking or receiving help for mental health.

I don’t suffer with mental health thankfully and I’m far too young for menopause but I’ve enjoyed reading everyone’s experiences with both, it’s been very eye opening.

I totally get it. It's fine to victim blame Nicola but we must say nothing about Paul, because there's no evidence right? Right?? Except there's a big picture thats been painted by Paul and Nicola hasn't said a word.
I mean nobody knows where Nicola is for her to say a word that’s kinda the issue…

I’m trying to not past judgement on her husband at this point there is no suggestion he is guilty. I highly doubt he is the perfect man. But nobody is and marriage is hard. There will be multiple factors that would have caused her to disappear whether it is by foot or suicide… health issue , martial issues , money , feeling unsupported by friends & family.

A lot of people when suffering with depression will lose friends and family you would be surprise how many people struggle to deal with personality changes in someone they love. They become frustrated which further isolates the person.
It’s not intentional it’s a human reaction.

Exactly. Nicola is the victim.
Guilty of what? Looking at young women's videos and pictures, he can do what he likes but he's in the public eye now and his partner is missing so people are going to comment.

The Pinterest…😩 not sure what to make of that! Nothing wrong with a bit of an escape/fantasy, but for all that to be public?! That’s a bit odd in my opinion.

I sadly don’t think we’re at the point at the moment where psychiatric wards and units aren’t going to be heavily stigmatised by people who are either ignorant, not well informed about these things or just plain bigoted. It will be a huge relief for a lot of people when they feel they don’t have to hide or feel ashamed about these things. I’m glad the stigma around depression and anxiety has eased somewhat, but there’s still a long way to go with those as well as other mental health issues

One of my friends, who was going through the tit that is menopause plus all of the baggage and responsibilities of a meno-age woman, one day just said “duck it”, left the husband and teenagers who treated her like a piece of the furniture and buggered off to Scotland, found a B&B with an amazing woman owner who took her in and comforted her. She was away for a week with no contact with anyone. Came back and kicked the husband out and “realigned” the teenagers. She’s now in a new relationship and has a new career and is doing great.

I hope against hope that Nicola has a good friend who no one knows about who has given her shelter as well as lots of cuddles and no judgement and is helping her sort her head out.
This x 100. Life-affirming to read of a gurl who ‘sorted’ things.

That’s banking he remembers his passwords ! So many people have old accounts they forget about.

Or maybe he has generally kept away from social media due to speculation so isn’t aware people have found them.

I think if it was violent graphic porn maybe but a couple of pictures to me of boobs isn’t an alarm bell. Bearing in mind the papers still had page 3 up until a few years ago!

I know it really is mind boggling. But I also think if she intentionally jumped in the river … how easy is it actually to kill yourself that way. Especially in shallow water I feel like your body naturally goes in to survival mode so it is pretty difficult to drown yourself. I could be wrong but intentional death by drowning is usually from a height like jumping from a bridge into a river.
I would imagine some rivers would just get you cold, wet and dirty and possibly injure a limb jumping in , rather than proving fatal. Although very cold water could prove deadly .

I think I've read somewhere that hitting the surface of water from a height can cause as much damage as hitting a solid surface.

Jesus if someone goes missing do they read you and your partners dirty messages? That’s horrifying! 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️
If I went missing and they read the messages my husband sends it would be mainly “What’s for dinner?”
The police would say “No wonder he killed her, bloody Turkey Twizzlers** again! That poor man, she drove him to it!” 😆

** disclaimer, I’ve never eaten nor served Turkey Twizzlers in my life! 😜
