As much as i can't stand her, between this and nat woodward's attempt to get her scan results anytime soon, the delays in the NHS at the moment are obscene.and scary.

Agree with the above. This is absolutely the time to use the gofundme for what it should be used for and go private!
This is bang on. The NHS delays are challenging for someone in her position. But she is in a position most aren't, and that's having money available to go private. She really needs to use that GFM money for that, rather than continuing to hint at more freebies.

Totally agree. If you're reading this, Nicky, go use the Go Fund Me to buy yourself some private care and some more time.

What is the situation? I know she’s not on the trial now but I can’t remember what her options were.
She needs a repeat bone biopsy - she’s already had one done but the results came back as inconclusive so she needs it done again under CT guidance (she says she asked if they could do it under CT to start with abs was told that it wasn’t necessary…)

I can see why she’s pissed off, absolutely I can, but yeah she’s got a pot of money people have donated to her so if she wanted to she could pay for a private biopsy…..

Ffs!! Go private for the scan, at least things can move forward then. No she shouldn’t have too but it’s a reality. She has a go fund me, use it for health. it may be that the drs don’t think waiting a few weeks will change anything 🤷‍♀️ But I understand her thinking her cancer is running away in her body.

Oh remember it’s all for content and sympathy folks. This is the sad sad state of the NHS right now, but she chose holibobs over treatment all those weeks ago….there wasn’t a rush back then was there.

I would feel gutted in her situ as well, but I imagine she doesn’t have the relevant life skills to properly advocate for herself, make difficult phone calls, find a different hospital; and yes, make the choice to use that money for a private biopsy. Anything that doesn’t involve performing in front of a phone anyway…

Sadly I can already hear her tantrum over having to fork Out for £2k+ for a private appt ‘but Mr G my holidaaaaaaays’. She has the option. She’s privileged. Do it before it’s too late.

Literally go private. My boyfriend did it earlier this year- he had some really worrying symptoms and paid to get it checked out (after being told he had a 8-10 week wait with the NHS) it’s obviously insanely frustrating but prioritise your health!!!! If you can do it-why duck around. Your health is so so so much more important than a holiday to Disney Florida. I’m sorry but if I was her I’d be literally calling up clinics first thing to book in.

Is it as easy as going private? I don't have any kind of medical background so forgive my ignorance but I'm sure that a previous poster said that the procedure she needs is quite specialised (which is why she didn't have it initially) so maybe it's not a case of paying x amount of money and then immediately/quickly getting what she needs? Its scary the amount of delays there is at the moment.

No you can't just rock up at a private oncology clinic say you want a bone biopsy .....they are extremely specific and specialised procedures and require specifically trained interventional radiologists to perform them and they're in very short supply currently

I thought that might be the case but like I say, I have 0 medical training .. So it's not fair to say 'well go private then' as some people have suggested.

Completely this. It isn't allways a case of 'going private'

It's a specific procedure she needs, not a scan.

Yes I don't think it's as simple as being able to just go private. I know that it's difficult to mix private and NHS care -- you can't really just chop and change like that.

I've had a needle biopsy done privately in the past. Obviously not the same as a bone biopsy but similiar faff i imagine.

The only tricky thing was getting the findings from of that to the nhs people and getting everyone on the same page - but it wasn't impossible.

I'd have gone private for everything if I had gofundme though. And not just because of the last two years. Even before that there were delays.

Gosh yes - if there's any chance of prolonging life and gaining more precious time then surely that's the way to go. I really, really hope that NNL is not prioritising holiday money over treatment at what is obviously a really critical stage.

I don't think that calling out to other people on Insta who may be in the situation is necessarily going to help her quickly. It's like she doesn't have the confidence to pick up a phone and speak to various medical people to try and action what she needs to happen.

I definitely think there is private options available though: as far as I can see she hasn’t spent a penny from the GFM on private treatment

I’ve stayed away for a few days but yet again this boils my piss,,, now it affects her she is wanting to shout about it, but previous to that no Fucks given about all the other beautiful hoomans with stage 4 cancers waiting within the NHS 😡

She is so bloody fake it’s insulting

While it was all going swimmingly and she had her trial she didn’t give anyone a second thought

The reality is she’s got so much money in the GFM, she could find someone in the whole of the UK who could help, or atleast someone who would advocate for her.

The only reason she is making or trying to make noise now is because it affects her
She hasn’t and will never give a tit about others

She’s in a corner like every other ordinary person fighting cancer
Welcome to the real world Skippy!

This is what every normal person is dealing with now in the Uk
Not attending yellow brick road z list events
And acting like a Princess

And unlike most other normal people she actually has a shed load of money to play with too.

It's her own fault for not investing the gfm earlier and into stuff a little more useful than holidays and brunch.

Look, i love and appreciate the nhs but as a cancer patient since 2014 it clearly has a load of issues. These delays and problems dealing with moving departments/between medical care have been around long before covid. (in my experience even moving between nhs hospitals - both in london - is way more faff than moving to private/having the occasional private scan or treatment)

And private treatment is generally always superior at our stage. Why on earth she didn't look into it sooner defeats me.
