Like @WhatABore I pick the food up once and say “leave your food on your tray” (high chair tray). If he does it again it stays down with a “I can see you don’t want that right now”
He loves to drop everything off the high chair, then cries to get down and quite often just eats it from the floor instead.

Yes! He has thrown himself down in anger a few times as well! I can hand on heart say I’ve never had a toddler do a tantrum like that. People joke about terrible twos, having to carry toddlers out of places screaming etc and I’ve never had any of that.
Until now.

I actually felt like crying today. He is so hard to take places, unless it’s just being outside/park etc. but sometimes the big kids want to do other things (like the library today) and it’s just so stressful with him.

Definitely a dodgy batch then when we had them I wonder will anyone recall them soon?!?

My mum just looked on our baby monitor and texted me asking wth baby Waka was doing…
she does look a bit scary listen we get sleep however it comes round here haha

I frigging love my granny pants they’re an excellent contraceptive too. KW goes nowhere near me when I’m wearing mine ….
Mr Waka accepts it’s all he’s going to get, if anything they’re a signal to him now

I was about to post saying Tommy is being a right twat today and then I realised, you’d all be more surprised if I said he wasn’t, at this point it’s the equivalent of saying plants have leaves 🥲

Maybe he'll make it worth your while when he's older by becoming rich and looking after you well!

Is it wrong he’s still my fave though?! Tommy stories never fail to make me laugh. I just imagine him sitting waving his axe and laughing as you frantically try and work out which type of dancing fruit he wants today

Feeling so grateful to know such a lovely group of supportive and smart moms!

I guess it's just another phase she's going through. Thanks for the insights all!

Right, imma go pop some pills now! Or well, just the one

@Definitelyme Yes, blowing raspberries, that's it! Although in Kitten's case "blowing puree" would be more accurate

@Crazycatlady18 I feel bad complaining about Kitten, I know your little CrazyCat has given you so much worries with her feeding. Hope she gets the hang of it soon.
Do you already have a date for the referral?

@Definitelyme sorry to hear toddler me is having a difficult time. It’s humiliating & draining isn’t it. If it makes you feel any better my nephew was the same at 1-2, a security had to once help my SIL escort him out of Tesco, she was mortified & still speaks about it til this day BUT he is one of the most sweetest, kindest little 6 year olds now!

He is definitely a lot more content in himself he just still won’t ever let us put him down without screaming until he stops himself breathing

Well that’s a lie, we do manage 10 minutes on his playmat here and there which is an improvement

I think a mix of the SCBU and the colic at the start has just made him really clingy which is understandable and tbh I don’t even mind, it’s just so hard literally doing anything else at all and it gets really draining. I can’t believe I took being able to wee, eat or even just have use of my hands foregranted! It wouldn’t be as bad if he was a bit bigger and could cosleep but he’s still only 10lbs and I’m too scared

OH is back at work in September and I’m already getting worked up about it. I’ll have to get up at 1.30 in the morning 4 days a week so he can sleep for a few hours before work and then I’ll have Tommy on my own till 6pm and I think it’ll kill me off tbh It’s so hard now so thinking of doing it on my own when he’s at work, with no breaks at all fuck meeeeee.

Maybe he'll make it worth your while when he's older by becoming rich and looking after you well!
He’d probably put me in the cheapest home you could find and then sell my belongings for scrap

Fuck, you outside my window?!

Oh my gosh, I would never return to Tesco if I were her, mortified wouldn’t even cover it

My own 6yo was harrrrd work (more in the way that Tommy is for @jackolantern) and as you say he is the sweetest boy Ever now. ToddlerMe can also be so sweet, he has a great sense of humour, and has many wonderful qualities. But he is also an insane lunatic. If he had been our first we’d probably only have one kid

Ten mins is an improvement! Hopefully that time continues to get longer, bit by bit You’ve probably thought or tried already but would a sling help? I used to put baby Waka in one and I could at least hoover or eat over her head with two hands, not sure of the weight so may be something else you’re waiting to do.
Oh them going back to work is another transition, I got mr Waka to make me a packed lunch so at least when I had some time there were two sandwiches just waiting for me.
My friends baby had an bumpy start too. Undiagnosed silent reflux and allergies from her breast milk so cried 24/7 for the first 3/4 months and my friend doesn’t do cry it out so was always up with her holding her to sleep etc and now she sleeps 8-7 she said she found her daughter ‘just needed her less’ so I think even though it’s tough you’re responding to exactly what he needs and giving him that extra reassurance and comfort in order to develop confidently with a secure attachment (hope none of that was patronising because you’ve not actually asked me for Any advice )

Hopefully by September you can grab 20mins!
You've both been through so much, you'll absolutely smash it once September comes

We have got a sling but non surprisingly he hates it I probably need to persevere with trying him with things more but Im always so tired I give up the fight and just do whatever it takes to make him sleep

That’s a good idea about the food thank you

No it’s not patronising at all. I appreciate you all so much, I’d be lost without this little clan. I question myself so much that is it just me doing everything wrong so it’s nice to know others don’t think so

I try and think back to what he was like in those first few months and realistically he is worlds better now, so you are right I just have to take the wins where I can, he’ll get there he’s still a little prick tho
