I’m not so sure. I think anyone who repeatedly includes you in posts then blatantly takes you off them in favour of who has a bigger following is cunning and insensitive; and as someone mentioned Julia’s video for the Artbox looked professional and not a word of thanks for it from Dina.I actually like Dina. I think she is a very capable woman with a lot of attitude. She comes across a bit corse, but that is just the way she is, at least she’s not pretending to be something she isn’t. I think she does a lot to help look after her parents, and will continue to do so, much more than Nadia as she is too selfish, and more than Julia as she is driven away by Nadia. I also think it was her who get Nadia through Masterchef and wrote her cookbooks, plus she can get more done in a weekend alone in terms of cleaning, tidying or home improvements in Nadia’s house than Nadia and Mark could do between them in a decade. She’s also in the position of having had 2 sisters who have earned massively more money than she has, had public recognition and even adoration, yet doesn’t seem to be bitter about having had to work a normal job, having seen the ease for example at which Nadia can earn more in a half day at ITV than she can in 2 months as a teaching assistant. She’s also had the insult of knowing that she probably pays more income tax as well.
Art by Box is an overpriced product, but seeing as it’s not mass produced, she probably had to charge that amount to cover the materials, printing, postage and extra to get any profit. Although I don’t think it’s a particularly good product, at least she is having a go at something and the amount of running around she has done, and not claiming credit for her cookery work for Nadia over the years…getting some support promoting her product should be an expectation.
Even after all Dina has done to support her, I think Nadia’s efforts at supporting her product were haphazard, with no thought gone into it. When you watch Julia’s promotional video it looks very professional, and it wouldn’t surprise me if it actually cost Julia some money or some favours pulled in to make it that professional. But I doubt Julia has anywhere near as many favours owed to Dina as Nadia does. Nadia comes across as someone who takes from relationships and doesn’t give much back.
The issue of Instagram, I think what is going on is that Dina genuinely loves both her sisters and tries to keep a decent relationship with both. Nadia can’t bear to hear or see anything related to Julia, so I think what happens is that if Dina references Julia, Nadia gets into a strop, so Dina has to accommodate to keep the peace. Julia probably doesn’t stoop that low and doesn’t try to control other people’s relationships. The older nephew is interesting, maybe he sided with Julia in the famous Nadia/Julia rift, whereas the younger nephew stayed neutral.
Nadia does have a weird way of dealing with relationship problems, she literally tries to act like the other person doesn’t exist. The extreme of hiding in a hotel every time Julia visits is a good example of this, because it very extreme when you consider that there is a boundary and she could just not leave the house on foot during her stay to avoid her. I think Nadia is afraid of a confrontation with Julia, whatever the row was about, she knows she is in the wrong. It might even be about YouTube, lies being told, lewd behaviour, not declaring adverts, tax evasion, exploiting the girls (before they removed themselves) and exploiting their parents, filthy living. Anyone in the industry seeing it…it will also reflect on Julia, she may even have lost work due to productions not wanting to be associated with things like the almost soft porn home movies (as the public seem to get the sisters confused).
If Nadia is not careful she will end up in the awful position of being afraid to attend her own parent’s funerals. She can’t face Julia, because she is probably the only person she has ever had to deal with who will hold her to account for her behaviour and not back down.
It’s also clear to see from Julia’s SM that she is very close to her parents, she also comes across as a strong woman who is kind and obviously has dignity. Going from her Tweet she said she had remained quiet to protect her family, so I don’t think she would stand for Nits driving her away.
I actually think all that ‘we are having to run to a hotel’ nonsense is in the hope the Press will pick up on it, but the press are so disinterested in her side of the story unless Nits informs HELLO, and even then all they do is talk about Julia. Or, if Julia visits and they have to run to a hotel then that just shows what a bully Nits truly is. She has obviously done something very unjust and does not want to be confronted.
I think Julia would be involved in looking after her parents as much as Dina and I feel it’s unfair if we look upon her as someone who is so intimidated that she has had to isolate herself. At least I hope that’s not the case.
As I’ve said before, if there is one Memoirs book I would like to read, it would be hers!
