He loved the 'down trodden undesirable BW' image and sadly some BW lapped it up.
I do admit I loved is LI reviews but avoided his video on racial unjustice as I felt POC had very different experiencs to Black's.

I'm please he is losing his subscribers although he is probably hoping on the typical 'let forgive' and muling sentiments of some BW.

I belive he is narsacistic sociopath! He got caught and tangle the 'Allah takes me now' and mental health issue. Someone like him would never harm themselves, and its just another form of manipulation.
i agree with everything you said about him. You are right, about the term PoC - it’s best to just refer the the group of people , because depending on which group one is, experiences can be widely different. The term PoC just lumps everyone together.

Also, please don’t use the term “blacks”. It’s offensive.

I'm not sure how the term blacks is offensive, that is a skin colour I am!
And I did not lump all BW together, please reread!

you might not find it offensive, but it is. In fact, it is strange for a black person to use the term “blacks” - it is a historically derogatory term. That’s why I didn’t think you were black.

i didn’t say you lumped all BW together. I wasn’t sure if you were black or not and was going to ask from your muling comment, thanks for clarifying . Enjoy your day

Hey, been reading this thread silently and decided to chip in. Black woman here..

I watched the thread in real time, and made a few comments that were shared and liked…
Knowing his sponsor was black-owned I encouraged others to write to Frontline Therapy, and just thought why not do it myself, i sent them screenshots of it all, gave them the links and wrote a lengthy email, expressing my concern. They were also appalled and said thanks, and I’m happy that they wrote a Twitter status the next day announcing that they wish to no longer work with him, and are looking into getting their content with him removed.

i also wrote on the thread saying that he was finished , it’s not the sex work for me but the fetishisation and racial slur, and how he used black people (mostly woman) to come up and we are the same ones that are going to finish his career.
I have always been suspicious of Murad in all honestly. None of his opinions are his own, they are stolen from black women on Twitter. He then takes those opinions and portrays them as his own on his video , speaking about issues he really does not know about, as someone who is not black. This is disingenuous.
I remember once writing a comment on one of his videos saying this, and funnily enough I was met with vitriol, people defending him etc.
However, way before this all , it was quite clear from Twitter conversations that other black people felt the same way.

I was lost for words when this came out. I The same guy “exposing tea” on others, doing the exact same thing (and worse) that he condemned others for.

That apology video was also something else. He lied and he did write those captions, as it is him saying those exact same things in the captions, in his voice in the videos. And it is very clear he gets off on it. He also is not right in the head, very clearly. And also has a superior complex.
I’m glad that he is finished and will not be able to pull the wool over others’ eyes anymore.

i also found it weird that he was doing a live stream “selling tickets” of the reunion, and getting people to pay to watch with him , under the guise of “I’ll be speaking to each and every one of you, as we watch together…” - it’s very clear that he likes to sees his subscribers as utter fools, and it’s unfortunate that those subscribers are mostly black women.
Yeah, he got a lot of his opinions from black women. If he cared so much about them, he would have given them credit. But he acted like his videos were all his opinions. Such a fraud.

People like him do nothing to fight racism, they just deepen the divide between people because that's literally how they make money. I feel really sorry for all those women of colour who fell for his bs and sadly there are still some of them sticking by his side for whatever strange reason. I feel no sympathy for him. The only honourable thing he could do now is to admit everything and take a big break from social media. Just delete all of his social media accounts and disappear.

tbh I find the second the last photo on his Insta quite haunting. He has so many BW literally behind him, all of their opinions, and presence and money he has used and is basking in as they all stand behind him supporting him.
Bet he loves that hey? Like his whole social account needs to be deleted.

Likes to be seen as the saviour of “us”.
Yes. And when his friend Nas was on Love Island, he made a huge point out of his family being from the Caribbean, probably hoping black people would overlook his non African appearance and support someone who's from where many other black people are from. Failing to realise tha many people of South Asian descent also live in the Caribbean.

He's also made a thing out of his grandma being born in Ethiopia, ignoring the fact she doesn't look East African.

He's been feeding off our energy for years, both as an ally and an honorary member of the community due to his vagueness around his heritage.

How did people realise he was stealing tweets from black women? I always assumed he came up with it by himself because he came across well spoken in his videos.

A lot of the commentary from black women online, or black youtubers were mysteriously all his opinions. He would even use the same terms and phrases. I don't think he actually cared that his content stealing was obvious, because he has a bigger following so a few people complaining about it didn't change anything. Also, some tea stories or 'breaking news' topics were copied. He didn't really do his own research etc. Obviously everyone copies eachother, but he really didn't have original ideas. No wonder why despite him not being black, he knew so much about the culture.

I wish he would talk about his own culture and experiences. But you would never catch him talking about being an Asian man in the UK, or gay. He's always talking about how black women feel. You gotta question why he's so comfortable talking about for black people.

You might of heard about SoniaxFyza that joint account? two Pakistani girls from Birmingham who then moved to Dubai, pretended to be Arab even to this day even though everyone knows the truth they are still going with this narrative. Anyway one of them ended up doxxing a random innocent girl and said the most vile racist things and got cancelled for it, lost all of their big sponsorships ect. Mind you she has said racist things about South Asians, Arabs, Black people ect. Anyway 4 months later she returns to socials and posting like normal after a half assed apology, I don't think brands are sponsoring her though since she lost that.

It really makes me think that if she can come out of this, Murad will definitely slowly come back and the sad truth is he will still have SOME support on Youtube for those who weren't personally offended by what he's done and said. Its just the sad reality.

I just cant imagine him going forward doing interviews and getting sponsorships, no one will want to be seen with him or work with him, he's bad press. So truly idk what his content is gonna be but it isn't looking good. If anything he might just go back to the sex work considering the truth is out and what is truly stopping him now? but lets see

I don’t understand south Asians that try to cosplay as Arabs and it tends to be Pakistanis that do this. I remember in college and university if you mistook a Pakistani for an Arab they would be really pleased by it even though Arabs have a dislike towards south Asians and look heavily down upon them. Why try and look like those who don’t even respect you or appreciate you? I cringe at Murad, especially because in his book, he mentions his ethnicity and says he’s Egyptian, Emirati and Yemeni. Also, that Soniazfyza girls the one that looks like Kylie Jenner actually got surgery to look like Kylie. I remember years ago she would only ever post pictures of her sister Sonia and people would always ask to see what she looks like and she did show a picture of herself but she was very basic looking and then a year or two later she pops up in the gram looking like Kylie Jenner

It's not even literal stolen content, but also general talking points. Even his whole defence of the undesirable black girl, that's not something even many black men have picked up on, let alone someone of a different race and gender.

Also there were a few times he'd tweet something or state an opinion in a video, then his view would suddenly shift when he picked up how black twitter felt about it.

There are some things that you'll just *get* if you're black, and Murad seemed to understand so people fell for it.

I don't doubt that he'll attempt a comeback but I think the unique thing about him compared to most people who get cancelled is the fact he made himself an advocate, and almost an activist. You just can't create content about how the media treats black and people of colour knowing you're contributing to their setbacks in private.

And not to mention, a good place for him to start would be to admit that it is him using slurs in the captions and videos. He can't just keep pretending.

We'll see.

Yeah, as someone mentioned before, if James Charles can make numerous comebacks, then anything is possible.. I suppose. But things will never be the same again. Murad has burnt too many bridges. Even James Charles isn't as successful as he once was. So Murad will certainly not have the same popularity.

He would have to change his content because there's no way he can continue making videos about race, other people and Love Island after this. Which means will have to totally reinvent himself. And I don't think he's able to do so with great success. It's hard in general for any Youtuber when they change their content, as they usually loose followers. Nevermind Murad who's now got all this drama attached to his name. I guess he can continue making the same videos, but he'll always be seen as fake.

The tension of holding this ‘secret’ in must have been enormous - though I think it was pretty much a open secret. Nothing goes away once it’s virtual, and it didn’t take much to find it - he left a pretty heavy footprint.

In some ways this exposure could work for him or at least clear the air, and allow him to re-boot - his career had a limited development with it lurking in the background - no reputable media company would have touched him, and I think that must have eaten away at him. Having said that, what’s been exposed isn’t a casual matter within most people’s experience and empathy (like an affair or drug taking), it’s really heavy, perverse stuff. It’s hard to image really what could be worse.

His only hope really is rehab - let’s see if he has the personality for that

For those who say "don't kink shame Murad". This isn't about that. It's about him not being who he presents himself to be.
He's the one who kink shames others. He done it to Jake from Love Island about his foot fetish. How dare he publicly shame Jake for something he does privately. I'll never understand that. He didn't have to make fun of Jake, he chose to.

I'm astonished at how badly he's taking this exposure, since he didn't try to hide it well. If he cared about hiding it, he should have been more discreet.

Did you see this?

Why is she making such a big deal about it? A simple, general "If what we have seen is true, blah, blah " statement would sufice. Why is she playing dumb. I like Amber, but she's behaving really weird about the whole thing.

Amber is the first to talk tit about people especially when its justified! so this is incredibly sad how she is just taking a back seat just because they were once friends... I'm guessing she feels ashamed and let down by Murad and is dealing with this in her own way, but acting cryptic online isn't it especially when she has a voice to speak up about these kind of topics :(

I don’t understand what difference it makes what his heritage background is? Or whether he’s ‘Arab’ or ‘Pakistani’ He claims to be part Turkish as well. You can’t tell by looking at people what race they are - it’s his disingenuous behaviour and profiteering from racism that’s the problem, from what I can see?
