Yes, used it for years, then left when it seemed like if you breathed wrong, you were banned. Hated the over the top moderation.

Another pregnancy test ‘can you see the faint line’ thread just now. No, as usual there’s nothing there but that doesn’t stop loads of posters piping up with ‘ooooh yes, very faint line there congratulations’. If you have to ask random strangers on the internet if they can see the non existent line then there isn’t one there. It’s really unhelpful to give people false hope when chances are they aren’t pregnant, or its still too early to tell. I don’t know why the mods allow those threads to stand?
I think those threads should be banned. Often, it's people desperately trying to conceive, and, as you say, posters give them false hope by telling them 'YES!! I can see a line, congratulations!' I also think pregnancy testing kits should come with advice telling people not to test until their period is at least one week overdue. Sensitive pregnancy tests pick up chemical pregnancies, which again gives false hope - and also grief at the pregnancy loss when menstruation arrives bang on time.

What do you all think about the rash of threads recently, where the poster has either felt something move in her stomach, or leaked colostrum, and subsequently finds out they are 30+ weeks pregnant? There were at least 4 separate threads by different posters, over the last few months.

They are frothing at the mouth, ready for any picture to come online that they can be outraged by.

Don’t get me wrong, large groups of people yes, be disgusted. But two people doing a dance, in a park without anyone at all around isnt the worst example we’ve seen. People on Mumsnet will find absolutely anything to complain about on there. By 10pm it’ll be 200 comments about how these people should be locked up for life.

Ahhhh love this thread! I only ever posted on MN once..and I’ll wear my hat of shame as it was a “Is this positive?” pregnancy test post! Looking back now my child’s 2 it was the most obvious positive ever but I was in utter shock, and surprisingly, people were very polite to me. (This was 2018 mind.)

Now when I need minor advice with my child, I google, like a normal person, and will only browse the website to have a laugh at other people’s posts asking the same question. 😂😂

I was a ‘Bagger.

They spectacularly fucked up when they tried to separate the mums from the herd. The disdain Handbag treated the mums on there back then is quite reminiscent of how Justine & co behave now.

Handbag also spawned quite a few breakaway forums.

Ah yes I'm sure it was her that posted about her husband accidentally forgetting where he parked one of their Mercs for months. she was oh so cross. So many syscophants crowing that it was a MN classic.
Yes! That’s her! There were lots of other things she’d posted about too which I’m pretty sure someone found out to be lies and so she deleted her account and left.

My all time favourite troll. She could probably be my specialist subject on Mastermind.

She’s on her (at least) third name-change now and has reduced the number of (fake) children she has, but her haughty, sneering inaccuracies are so blatant they’re visible from space.

The MN mods know full well that she’s a troll (it’s been proven to them several times), but for some reason they cover for her. No idea why 🤷‍♀️
Yeah I enjoyed her efforts. I remember the hotel bedroom thread with fondness. I imagine she has had many incarnations over the years, and mumsnet have just given up trying to rid the place of her, at least as this account shes fairly harmless, albeit not completely benign.

This thread is really sad. A woman has found out her husband has been having an affair and he’s now left her. They were childhood sweethearts so it’s hit her heard. It’s taken about seven posts before some heartless bint has come along and told her that her husband is ‘probably on Tinder as well seeing what is out there’. What are these women on? There is no evidence whatsoever to support that claim, and it’s probably the last thing the OP needs to hear given how upset she obviously is. I wonder do they even think before they spout the shit they come out with?

Its very London centric, Apparently one time a poster who lived in rural Yorkshire was struggling to get into work and someone asked her why she didn’t just use the tube. I don’t think it’s goes that far North does it?🙄
I think it was quite london centric in the early days but I read recently they have over 100 million members now.

Oh yes. ‘My DH has been really distant with me lately‘ there follows lots of responses saying he must be having an affair. It’s always the way there. Though quite frankly it’s not hard to see why their husbands and partners cheat on them if them if they are like that in real life is it?
