Everything is over exaggerated on MM. so many posters are furious and shaking with rage over any minor thing, I don’t know how they get through the day.

Sorry I’m a bit late to the party here. It always stuck out to me how many people on MN had cleaners, not that there’s anything wrong with that if you can afford one, but they were constantly accusing them of stealing, it was awful! The final straw for me was when someone posted saying a brand new bottle of pink gin had suddenly become half empty and it HAD to be the cleaner, not her teenage son or husband who she later disclosed had previously been an alcoholic 🤦‍♀️

People from a working class background are as a rule the most kind and generous and give you the shirt off their back. Back in my barmaid days I would get tipped every drink off working class men/women, then your high day and holiday middle class customer would order a ton of drinks, talk to you like you’re a moron, not say please or thank you and not leave any tip!

I could also never get over how naive some people on MN come across, like they have never lived in the real world, dealt with normal folk or ever been in any kind of real life sketchy situation (not that that’s a bad thing!) oh and you’re an alcoholic if you have a drink any other time than on Christmas and no more than a glass of champagne then at that 😂
Totally and so many taxi drivers have told me that the bigger the house someone lives in then the smaller the tip, he said “I take many people from X area (bad areas in my city) to their chemists every day to pick up their Valium and methadone and they live in council homes but always tip well, rich folks wait for 20p change”🤣🤣 and I always think they’re rich because they don’t tip taxi drivers like I do!! I feel awful if I can’t leave a tip!!🤣🤣

My dad used to be a taxi driver so I always tip! I always feel like a lazy witch when I cba walking 10 mins from the pub to our house, the fare only comes to like £2.80 so I always say to keep the change from a fiver :ROFLMAO:

Also in my pub days I was once absolutely fuming when I spent hours waiting on this family table of 12 in the restaurant when there was a big football match on, if I was behind the bar I would have been raking it in in tips, the bill came to over £200 and when they had paid the dad ushered me over and pressed 50p into my hand! I would rather have had nothing 😂

Tipping is another thing that starts a war anyway on Mumsnet. 'Oh I never tip my hairdresser and it costs £££££' I'm surprised she doesn't leave your peroxide on too long so your hair snaps off love!

They're just vicious. Someone can post something genuinely concerning / about a really tricky situation. They can say, am I being ridiculous, and people will reply with all sorts of nasty things! So snobby.

I'm really glad I found this forum!

I’ve never understood why some women have a meltdown at what others do with their pubic hair?? They’re not going to see it 🤣

I was also a handbagger!

and was also a MNer. It’s become SO hysterical over the last couple of years. Anyone ever talking about their husband is told to leave the bastard!

Saying about well known Mners who were treated as royalty- what about AnyFucker- very unpleasant.

I used to love Mumsnet. But a combination of my kids growing up; the relentless po-facedness; continual hacking sagas i got progressively pissed off.
Anyway what brought me here was Jack Monroe and Mumsnet’s zapping any less than complimentary thread
Tattle is much more fun.

They've banned me! I have no idea why and they won't say. I hardly ever went on there but when I looked last week I couldn't log in so emailed them and was told I'd been deleted - nothing more! Arrogant fuckers - I wrote one of the top rated posts on 'classics'. They seem to be having a cull of the old feminist board members - I guess they aren't good for advertising revenue.

I was on MN back in the 'royalty' days when I was very young, hormonal and, like a lot of people on there, utterly exhausted with babies and toddlers. It was a bit of a lifeline at first but soon turned rather nasty. There was one particular member of the 'royalty' who was semi-friendly at first but took against me because, if I recall rightly, she made an amusing spelling mistake and I quote tweeted her with a smiley face. After that, she just went after me, picking everything I said apart, being very personal and just being a complete witch towards me, so I drifted off Mumsnet and eventually onto twitter, where almost two decades later, said 'royalty' is still acting like The Queen, though her spelling appears to have improved :)
