I've lived abroad for years. The worst is the queue in the chemist where everybody (read: complete strangers) wants to know what is wrong with you, what you have been prescribed for it, and then all and sundry offer comments along the lines of, "My uncle had that and he took xyz. And died only a few years later." Turns out on further questioning that he was 97, but hey ho. Now the entire farmacia knows YOUR medical history as well as every one of their friends, family, neighbours, butcher etc. Private medical records? PAHYou are so right - it's great when people join in! If the buttoned-up miserable Mumsnetters don't want to chat along, then it's fine by me!
