Try starting a thread about what to eat with lasagne though. The horrified faux gasps that you might serve chips AND garlic bread and not just the fabled massive salad will go on for days
yep the inevitable insulinphobes will be along to claim too many carbs and no wonder obesity is on the rise, they easily stay slim and willowy by leaving the lasagne sheets out of the lasagne.

Peak Mumsnet food thread was reached last week when someone mention a salad “with all the trimmings”. That sounds like the most joyless Christmas dinner ever!

I read a thread earlier of what meat people normally have with a roast; beef, pork or chicken and someone commented saying although it depends on the cut and the origin but that their top three was.

Pheasant with Cumberland sauce
Haunch of venison
Forerib of beef

Would she ever have a chicken and duck off. If I was ever unfortunate enough to be invited over for dinner I’d ask for salt, pepper and ketchup as you just know she’d be overly offended and put up an AIBU about me.

No it's still there.

Jesus.
Christ. How can there be so many loathsome women on one site?

Wouldn't surprise me if some of these arseholes claimed to eat ortolan.

And I’ll bet my life that none of the “trimmings” included a calorific dressing!

Has to be Crumbs 🤣
I don’t know how that woman keeps returning under different names. I was sure she had been banned over the past few months as all was quiet but sure enough, up she pops again using a new name.

Haunch of venison? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Bet she has Heron Food’s version of Turkey Twizzlers, potato wedges (cos Christmas), baked beans and a Viennetta for pudding, all washed down with a bottle of Echo Falls.

Not MN but a different site.

There was a poster who claimed to live in a 16th Century moated manor house. Nobody believed him but on and on he'd bore about 'his' village and how he pretty much ran the place.

Eventually, someone put together all these details and identified the building. Not only that but they also used all these "Great plans for the village" posts and worked out that the poster wasn't the owner of the manor house and was all over the local paper as he was a complete crank and oddball. He didn't even live in 'his' village but in a town nearby.

Mind, I worked with someone who, 10-15 years or so ago, was all over certain IT-related areas of the web claiming to be an expert. Funnily enough, when I worked with him, he'd been sacked for gross misconduct after he had brought down the company's systems not once, not twice but three times when he tried to reprogamme his work PC.

To be eaten while perusing a Jilly Cooper book for ideas 🤣.
I used to read Jilly Cooper books years ago and that's what the crumbs one's descriptions of pretty much anything bring to mind.

I'm 100% sure you're right. The characters all live in gorgeous manor houses, or idyllic but enormous cottages in quaint villages, drink buckets of campari and champagne, meanwhile throwing together magnificent meals on the aga, usually freshly shot pheasant, whilst their hunter's wellies gather dust in the boot room.
