I looked a couple of pages of that and all the rings I saw were shit! Much pudginess of finger but I’ll give them that as it’s really hard to take a decent ring photo (Mrs)

Most of those rings are absolutely hideous but all of the posters are like omg stunning, gorgeous, wow!

My hands are my best feature, if I do say so myself just a shame I've never had anyone adorn my finger with a 6 figure salary ring. Bet my hands would be slated TF

One of my work chums must be a mums netter, as she's recently started alot of chitchat about where to send her precious first baby for school. She definitely has some weird ideas about it!

She lives in the roughest town of one of the home counties, and lamented that it's hard to find a really good state school or affordable private school. She said to me, 'I think you had it just right, going to the only school in your village, you obviously got a good education for free and I bet your parents didn't have these agonising decisions'.

God knows where she's got this idea about my education - most kids in my school got free meals, a teacher was convicted for pweirdo porn and the roof was always dripping on us. But thank god my parents didn't need to agonise over where to send me!

I'm beginning to feel the need to check out S&B, as I have neither I've never bothered. But it sounds hilarious!

When I was a child, the local castle was being done up by the owner and he would regularly be seen in the village in filthy overalls covered in paint and plaster. Mumsnetters would be horrified and certainly wouldn't let him use their loo.

He's a Marquis now since his dad died .

This thread title

Someone on that thread is humble bragging by saying I have to wear the rings for insurance purposes - if you have your rings named on your policy you have either have to wear them or have them in a safe.

I didn't think most looked overweight (re first few pages, I didn't bother after that). The thread made me laugh though. Fearful of an outing hobby like cricket, but posting your hand and unique wedding ring is fine.

Don't be ridiculous, my hubby's hobby ( see what I did there ) involves wheels and handlebars and wearing lycra.
OMG have I said too much . I had better get the thread deleted ...

There was a thread a day or so ago where the OP had been off work a couple of days with a bad cold and was wondering whether she should go out for a walk and a coffee before returning to work the next day. OMG, the pious eejits spouting rubbish like "if you're well enough to go out you're well enough to be in work" and "if I saw one of my staff having a coffee when they were off sick I would fire them" had a field day.

Last time I sat having a coffee in a Costa, I had just struggled to get showered and dressed and managed to make the hike down from my ward for a break with the nurses' blessing. I had a six inch incision in my belly and I wasn't even discharged from hospital for another three days. Yeah, well enough to go for coffee, well enough to go to work, right.

I will forever now think of "The Mumsnet Pudgy Finger"

Quite a few kids from my school went to out of catchment area grammar schools. It was one of two in my very small town. Knew at the time that the head teacher had been done for fraud and embezzlement of school funds, but didn't find out until a few years ago that the school had been in special measures for several years at the time. Highly doubt if my parents knew or were particularly concerned. I don't think parents in the 90's got so bothered by that kind of thing.
