Oh that would annoy me, especially if I was desperate for advice. I would rather they don’t reply at all lolThere’s one I’ve noticed who just posts “All the best OP” on every thread, no matter the subject content, and even where the OP comes across as truly distressed, or is in a horrible situation. Why would you do that? It comes across as patronising and dismissive.
Don't they call them rabenmutter (Raven Mother)? I got the impression German society wants woman to solely devote themselves to their child until the child starts school, then they're supposed to pull back slightly by working "unimportant" part time jobs to bring in some extra money and quit being a "burden" to the family but to still be around to drop it at a moment's notice to run around after the child again. Sick. Not that the UK's attitude is that much better, mind.@BlueRose, I'm not on Mumsnet, so no idea what was posted there and whoever that was - but:
In general I'm with you, people should mind their own business, if someone wants to put their kid in a creche, fine, if others don't also fine. Some people have no choice, and even that isn't really anyone's business if they can't do anything about it either.
Unless there are concerns like money being tight and maybe gently suggesting that going back to work might be better long-term, I'm not sure why people keep pushing.
I'm in Germany and here, you can't win at all: Bringing your kid to nursery and you're a bad mum. If you do it so that you can work, maybe you shouldn't have had a kid in the first place. Not bringing them to nursery - well, you're having a death-clutch on your child, they'll end up socially inept and what about your career? What did you go to uni for? To stay at home?
Yes, Rabenmutter is the term. It's really quite insane, women should work at all costs, but don't they dare to have kids, then you must give up the job the day you find d out you're pregnant and work until delivery at the same time and the get back to work immediately while hawking over the kid at all ours of the day and night like a mothering hen.Don't they call them rabenmutter (Raven Mother)? I don’t know why anyone would ask them for advice tbh. Reading through the style and beauty section feels like I’ve crossed over into another dimension. The 'Do I chop it off' post in Style and Beauty right now. They're giving her terrible advice. Why are they so obsessed with the early 2000's sloping Victoria Beckham bob cut? (fondly known now as the Karen cut, oh dear).
And this is a site where everyone is positively terrified of looking dated. The mind boggles.
Most of the comments are avoiding the question and simply telling her she looks beautiful. They feel safe and pleased with themselves because she isn't threateningly slim. If she was very slender there would already be a pile on telling her to to calm down and seek therapy. Personally I would advise the woman to go for creating some bounce and lift, or adding some soft curls to her already lovely hair. It just looks a bit limp and tired in the photo but is a great blank canvas. It's like they want her to do something terrible to it
Right which one of you is trolling mumsnetThe hair recommendation pics always look like they pulled them from a teenager's 2003 Tumblr account.
OMG, this comment in AIBU right now, thread titled 'never leaving the country again'

I seen that post but couldn't be bothered to go through the 6 pages to find out how much the OP thought it should cost. But £4!!! It's about £2.50 for a packet of Mr kipling angel slices. And she thought £4 for a fancy cake in a bakery was a reasonable amount to pay? These people really give me a laughWhat is it with posters there and their need to make stupid remarks about everything? I'm not sure why this riled me as much as it did! It's a comment on the thread about how much someone would expect to pay for a cake from a cake shop. Everyone's chiming in with guesses between £25 and £50 and then this person comes along and states £4. As if. What year are you living in that a whole cake from a specialist bakery costs you £4?
I think it's the po-faced manner they make these statements in that pisses me off so much, always completely incredulous at the most inane things. It gives me similar vibes to when someone makes a thread about how their granny is dying in hospital and there's no way they can get there or something, and someone pops up with "why haven't you learned to drive OP?" or some other completely unhelpful comment under the guise of being sincere and innocent.
While I'm at it, and because I don't have anyone to vent to in real life about this extremely niche source of irritation, I'm both intrigued and irritated by that poster whose name I've forgotten who (sorry, not helpful!), without fail, turns up on every thread about someone seeking a career change, or wanting to make more money, talking about how she 'sells crafts' and works 4 hours a week and makes good money. Whenever anyone asks for more details she refuses, yet for someone who doesn't want to talk about it she sure brings it up at every possible opportunity. For that reason I'm leaning towards it being a load of rubbish, but part of me is wondering if it's true! What are these crafts she sells that presumably take her 10 minutes and sell for shitloads?!
I work and earn from a creative career and the only way you could do this is if you had no outgoings, ie a wealthy spouse and your own, paid for home. I can choose my working hours which is great, but I cannot guarantee my work will sell. It is always up in the air, so you have to know that a baseline income will come in each month to survive, and have a back up when it doesn't. For some this will be parents, spouse, inheritance, investments. For me, it's sods law! What is it with posters there and their need to make stupid remarks about everything?
