Yes of course its a thing, but its not necessarily a bad thing. According to MN, if you havent fallen apart with the onset of periods and suffered terribly throughout, then had dreadful menopause then... What I'm trying to say is: menopause doesnt mean the end of the world. And in fact, having had to take tranexamic acid for flooding then having a mirena coil (which was brilliant, another MN thing, it's terrible) having the menopause can be a breeze in comparison.

They’ve even asked posters who are only in their 20’s if they could be Peri in the past. It seems the standard response to everything medical related, even if it could be explained by lots of other things.
I used to be the same with periods. Had zero emotional affect on me, no pain etc and were just really inconvenient. Used to hate the stereotype that we were all lying in bed weeping into a box of chocolates.
When the Ukraine war had just started I posted on the war threads that the Russian soldiers would be brutal and would use grape as a weapon of war. The collection of professional 'warologists' on there berated me, calling me a racist and saying there was no way that would happen. Sadly is has happened, as I knew it would, not that I wanted to be right. The war threads on there are so dumb it makes the whole thing 100x more arduous. Let them live in their fantasy land.

They are borderline anti-natalist, accusing mothers of killing the planet for wanting a second or third child. It's disgusting what they say to each other sometimes.
I bet the ones who accuse mothers of killing the planet have had children themselves, used plastic, used disposable nappies, had a wardrobe full of designer clothes and flew from a young age and now they're at the stage of life where they just want to stay at home and live a simple/miserable life they think others should too and lecture others about how they should be doing their utmost to save the planet.
One thing that annoys me on there is the smug middle class stay at home mothers of school age children who act a cut above because their husband is a higher earner. My other half is a higher earner I couldn't imagine anything worse than sitting on my a while my child is at school. He may earn more than me but I'll always have my own money and career what happens if the husband's ask for a divorce?

@veevee04 I think that’s the same thread I saw. One poster seriously suggested ham hock and another parmesan cheese! Not a bleeping clue about food poverty because if they did they’d know that kind of stuff is extortionate.

I just hate how insensitive they can be yet so easily triggered themselves and expect everyone to adjust the conversation to meet their needs. "I'm finding this really upsetting actually!" Who cares?

I remember the coke users support thread! I’ve talked about this before. They were all apparently supporting each other to not use anymore, but half the time they’d just talk about how much they loved and missed it. I used to lurk because it was so horrifying. They were all married with young kids and most weekends one of them would post to say “LOL hubby has just texted our dealer so I guess we’re off the wagon!” and they’d all reply saying how jealous they were.
Then said poster would come back on a comedown talking about having to take their five year old to a birthday party and how horrendous they felt, and they’re never ever doing it again.
There was also a thread for codeine addiction which was pretty similar.
So they're always pontificating, yet help support the drug trade? Lot of harm there. What's a bit of plastic and air pollution?
That wouldn’t surprise me, I think it was on the baby thread on here that someone mentioned they went to a kids birthday party and some people were doing coke in the toilets, they said they were all middle class.
Can you imagine if that was an alcohol addiction support thread and one of them said they’d fallen off the wagon and drunk a bottle of wine, then had to take their child to a party hungover? They’d be lynched. I think it’s because c has always been seen as more affluent and middle class, but it’s still a drug regardless and a dangerous one at that. Its expensive, causes people to act like mats and is one of the biggest causes of ‘unexplained’ heart attacks in younger people.
