PMT/PMS was also a thing. As is dysmenorrhea (painful periods). But most women get extremely pissed off when they're told they're only being bitter/snippy/upset/assertive because they're due on/on or if they're refused a promotion because they'll be too emotional and irrational to do the job properly like a man would.
You know what, I'm probably ultra middle class by some standards, but I have never ever in my life considered taking c. Nor have 99.9% of my friends. A bit of weed back in the early 80s was one thing - gentler stuff back then, and like twice a year for a year or so? c and anything else way too scary. I am a wuss, but a sensible one.

I’ve enjoyed a couple of threads lately where the husband has got drunk at special event/stag do and they are seriously considering leaving and follow it up by saying they never drink normally so the poor guys are having one night out to let off steam.
It definitely was my friend was gurning her face off and was talking at a million miles an hour. I have a neurological condition and have been taking stimulants for quite a long time , coke to me was like having a coffee. Whereas I'm hyper sensitive to opioid medication I was drooling after having tramadol

Weird, because there was a thread recently where a forty year old husband goes clubbing with teenagers, and when he's still not home an hour after he said he would be, a worried MN wife calls the police. No, they gang up on her implying she's a nasty harpy whose husband must be desperate to escape her clutches, blaming his crappy behaviour on her. She clarifies he can and does go out, but a) that night was uncharacteristic for all sorts of reasons, and b) emphasised the context (her late pregnancy)/ his reckless behaviour could have killed him. They gaslight the tit out of her and tell her to lighten up and make him breakfast once he wakes up. It was as if 4chan lads had brigaded or something. Shitshow of a thread. I was almost tempted to make an account just to tell them what odious bleeps they all are

This is what I find so crazy about MN, in some ways it’s like a hive mind and you can expect to read the same responses on any similar thread, and other times it literally could go any way. I can't help seeing Mumsnet as a bunch of witches hanging around the school gates. The kind of woman you'd avoid as a kid- and as a parent. They are so relentlessly unkind to each other. I realise the irony of this statement if you're not a Tattler!
I see them as the cool girls at school who would sneer and mock anyone who was different to them. I think some of them have never grown out of it tbh.

Agreed. They're the true definition of keyboard warriors IMO. I bet in real life many wouldn't say boo to a goose
