None of the MNers drink. But everyone else they know seems incapable of drinking without pissing and shitting themselves!

Also have you seen the thread about worst behaved adult at Christmas. Soon descended into a misery contest about all kinds of abuse.
OMG. I thought it was going to be funny but it wasn’t. And if half of the misery posts went exactly as described, I’ve lived a really sheltered life because I had no idea there were quite so many adults abusing their kids, smashing their toys, taking to their beds, getting drunk and storming out etc etc.

And then all the holier than thou posts about the evils of alcohol and they’re so glad they’re teetotal!

In defence of Mint Velvet, I have a glorious pair of silver trainers from there which my then 23 year old made me buy... and I thank her every day I wear them! (I am 60, but reckon I can still rock them...)

I love when people use a phrase that other posters might not use but know perfectly well what it means but they pretend they don't and make themselves look thick.

Eg AIBU to let 9 year old drink coke at a sleepover - but rather than coke they say pop/fizzy juice and get loads of posts asking what pop is.

The same happens with things like roll/barm/bun/cob.
They can't have all the other Hyacinth Bouquet wannabes on there thinking they are (gasp!) Northern or (clutches pearls!) Northern and working class with such words 😂😂 It's a slippery slope. Next thing they know, they'll have a (the horror!) husband called Dave who is a tradesman!

Is this the daughter's friend or the adult OP's friend who told her off - and that is the same 'pal' who was goaded? And when you say 'ended up on the ground with a hurt arm,' this was due to violence from this friend?
Two adult women and their respective 9 yr old daughters. One daughter likes to dance everywhere - street, bedroom, pavement, school as she ‘loves it’. She twirls in front of the other girl who tells her to stop as it’s annoying. Dancing girl says no, and continues to prance about. Other girl apparently pushes dancing girl to the floor and says her mother also thinks it’s annoying and so do school teachers. Dancing girl says second girl couldn’t be a dancer because she’s too ugly. Both girls get a telling off but story is told from perspective of dancing girls mother, who seems to think it’s ok to dance everywhere as she’s practicing for a Christmas play.

Everyone was in the wrong, but I would find dancing girl intensely annoying (in fact I actually knew a girl and her pushy mother just like them).

Absolutely obsessed with the * how much do you earn * threads
Mostly pretty much 50k plus each
I have 2 jobs and a side job ... I dont earn 18k for all of them
My husband is very badly underpaid. He should be on 40-50k plus he accepts 28k. He's corporate
I'm within m25 also , so a london borough although not technically london . I have 2 adult children at home and one under 16 .. one is literally living on a fishing bed with his son who he has 3 nights a week
It's a 3 bed
. How do I have 2.5 jobs. husband has a decent job and we have an adult son and his son living on a fishing bed in a room that can't house a single bed its that small

There’s a thread on there at the moment about people you fancy but at ashamed of, and someone has posted that they really fancy a young Adolf Hitler and sometimes fantasise about him when shagging their husband. Somehow I think that poster is trolling them 😂😂
I've read the thread. Lots of people mentioning your man I see 😂

Anyone seen the thread about the crazy woman who wanted her colleague to go home because he coughed?! Then spent the whole thread telling people to fuck off 😂
I spent much of last year telling HCPs that I wouldn't notice a dry cough as that's how my asthma shows 😁.

MN is a toxic toxic place.
I sometimes go on the wedding forum, i don't know why because they're generally vile and all show off that they spent under £250 on their whole wedding and if you dare spend more you're stupid, and showy and wasting your money. They will be vile to you if you suggest spending a bit of money on your wedding.
Every MN has worn a second hand, hand me down wedding dress that their aunt Phyllis wore, they didn't have a photographer or any guests and refused to spend any money on any wedding ring. If you ask about wedding cake suggestions you get a tirade of "that's so wasteful" ..."we didn't have a cake"..."who has a wedding cake on their wedding"

I hadnt even seen this before I posted 😂
Also do not DARE make any mention of presents/gift lists etc on your wedding invites as it’s terribly vulgar according to the MN wise ones 🤣

Thread on there today about fruit pouches for babies and how one poster doesn't even feed her cat food pouches as it's bad for the environment. I do both and now feel insanely guilty, what d hell am I meant to feed the cat 😂 these are the same people banging on about the environment but are probably on their 3rd new kitchen in 10 years!
I thought this a while back and tried switching to tins but then they have to go in the fridge and the cats don't like really cold food and it just doesn't work. They also look at me like I'm evil when I put them solely on dry food, so it looks like it's pouches until something better comes along.

One on there seems to think schools should stop teaching head, shoulders, knees and toes in French and start parenting children as it’s the school’s fault when people become criminals.

they seem more upset that someone gave them a cookie(biscuit) 😂

I dunno. Papers will publish any old shite for clickbait these days. I saw one the other day about someone whose ‘Christmas had been ruined’ because Hermes had lost their parcel, which was a 30 quid hair shaver for her partner. The most interesting thing about the article was that her boyfriend was called ‘Tank’.

I don’t know why they get so upset that their comment might end up in the online paper anyway. I often try and say something outrageous on there in the hope that it ends up on Mumsnet Madness of Twitter 🤣

My favourite thing is when they go ‘I DO NOT GIVE PERMISSION FOR THE DAILY MAIL TO PUBLISH THIS’ at the top of a tedious thread about them moaning about their husband’s hobby (cycling) or their bridezilla Sister In Law.
I think you've explained it better than I managed to! The mail has published two stories on my threads on MN so I do understand. So maybe I was thinking more about comments.

I was banned and asked for all my posts to be deleted. It’s all our right under the ‘right to be forgotten legislation’
They grumbled amount the information for new mums etc being compromised but it’s the law. I just said I feared that my information was identifying so it all had to come off especially as I had no longer the right to reply.
if all the tattlers did the same it might be fun - it is your right especially if you think there ‘might be identifying info on there’
Idk how they have the cheek to say that, especially as whenever I’ve googled anything to do with my baby it’s been SO rare to find a post post 2017? And these are the big questions eg why is poo like x, should I worry about baby coughing so much they vomit, sleep regression, blah blah blah. Some of the babies they’re speaking about in the posts Google surfaces are doing their GCSEs soon!
