They’re ridiculous!
We live abroad and miss our family, our parents and friends. Our two year old baby hasn’t met any of her extended family yet. Her grandparents would love to meet her.
I know it’s our fault for moving away, but streuth! Just because Deborah Van-Sandwich-Dougherty from Buckinghamshire has had enough of holidaying abroad now she has her wisteria covered cottage in the Costwolds to retreat to when things get tough, some of us actually want to travel!

Plus the amounts of posts the OP got in the thread I mentioned saying she shouldn't book a holiday in the middle of a pandemic despite her saying in her OP that she booked in 2019 is ridiculous.

I can't get over a current post about winter coats and posters coolly replying they spend hundreds on a goose parka or whatever. And another poster basically saying how disgusting it is that other people shop in Primark buying crap that will fall apart in a year and it's bad for the environment or whatever. Err, not everyone has a bleeping choice. I certainly can't afford to drop hundreds on a coat, and there are tonnes of people worse off than me.

I have a few coats, my favourite is 7 years old and cost 35 quid. Why do some people think cheap clothes fall apart? 🤔 My clothes and shoes are a mixture of prices and none of them 'fall apart'.

I am still wearing a skirt from Primark bought in 2004. It's getting a little raggedy now but it's absolutely fine for wearing around the house, and in the garden. I will continue to wear it until it falls from my body. Quite a lot of my clothes are from similar stores and have lasted for years. Some of my 'labels' haven't fared so well. An Antik Batik bag disintegrated after 6 months. A DKNY mohair cardigan looks like a nest of badgers has taken residence inside it. A pair of Miu Miu flats that look as if they have been worn by an elephant (I am not an elephant) because they have 'lost tone'. Still at least I don't wear one of those cheugy Gucci belts beloved by our Sal.

Some of my Primark stuff is still going unlike a £50 sweater which disintegrated after a couple of wears. I buy stuff from Primark not just because of the price but I love their stuff. I usually wear and use my stuff until it breaks/dies/wears out. They’re so sneering of Primark probably because it doesn’t fit in with their middle class lifestyle.

MNers are the most crashing snobs when it comes to things like clothing brands. But conversely, you also get the anti-snobs who get a fit of the vapours during a thread about expensive bags: “I bought a rucksack 25 years ago and use it daily! I can’t imagine having a fancy bag! What a waste of money!”

They just argue against whatever the OP says basically.

I want a designer bag - get cheap designer is a waste of money
Can someone recommend a 30 quid bag - you need to spend at least 500 or you're responsible for human slavery and it won't last anyway

I don't think I want kids - have them NOW! you never know love until you do and your life will be meaningless
I want a second kid dh doesn't- don't do it, kids ruin your life and marriage

My kids eat this super healthy diet - how damaging, give them carbs
How many pizzas Shall I get from dominos for a sleepover - pizza! Do you want to sink the NHS, give them salad

They should rename it from mumsnet to Mary Mary quite contrary.

They waffle on about clothes, yet in the threads where they post their outfits they all look like a psychotic break in Bon Marche.

this is so true. Like if someone posts for help finding some new fashionable black boots for winter they get given links to the most old fashioned and hideous styles.

I opened a Covid thread this morning and the OP was rambling on about how she thinks Omicron could be a Covid-AIDS mutation because she'd read that Omicron was first found in someone who had HIV.

These people are nutters.

A new variant of a virus found in an immunosuppressed person prone to disease first? Shocker!

They're batshit 😂

Have the viruses somehow mated and produced b offspring? I stay away from all forum discussions about Covid, including on mumsnet, reddit or here as there are barely any measured, realistic responses

They don’t live in the real world. Whenever someone asks for fashion tips they will always suggest the usual suspects ‘Mint Velvet, Whistles, Hobbs, Reiss’ etc not realising that they are way out of most people’s price range, and personally I’d rather wear a Primark coat than one stuffed full of goose of duck down because they are very cruel and not ethical at all. Just recently there was a thread from a woman who was struggling financially and wanted some cheap and easy meal ideas. Although in fairness they did get a fair bit of good advice, some them seriously suggested dishes containing stuff like Ham hock, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, balsamic vinegar etc.. This was before I was banned so I posted a link to a fantastic Facebook group called ‘Feed Your Family for £1’! suggested looking for yellow sticker meals after 7pm in the main supermarkets and shopping in places like Iceland, Farmfoods, Home Bargains, B&M etc. It was about six pages in and not one other poster had suggested that any of that. They are so unaware of their middle class privilege it’s unreal.

I always love/hate the food threads!

The language so many of them use about eating is so over the top!

Munching, slurping, shoving food in, scoffing, inhaling...

The dramatics

Agreed!!! That's how they pretty much describe anyone who doesnt nibble their food.

The McDonalds breakfast one is funny. One poster replied that its absolutely disgusting and she goes to her local farm cafe for sausages and fresh eggs 🤣
