The key thread is absolutely bonkers!

who knew a guy buying chocolate and flowers predate is a major red flag!

also in one post op says she would never misplace as she is organised and then following post- not sure if she left them on the table
Or kitchen

Absolute nutcases on that thread

Does anyone remember the thread about the person who found a safe in her loft. Pages and pages it went on. Poster never came back 😑

There’s a post from someone that only buys super noodles at self service tells as she’s ‘just so embarrassed’ buying them. These people kill me haha 😂

The Covid threads are insane

There's a real mob mentality . When anyone wants to question anything that doesn't fit their narrative everyone piles on and insults them.

They are told they are morons and selfish etc

On the subject of vaccine passports one poster asked about what would be reasonable to restrict for the unvaccinated.

The response was that they would ban them from all walks of life, fine them every day they refused to comply. They are in favour of the army rounding them up and forcibly injecting them

This isn't just one extreme person , the majority there will agree and shout down anyone who questions them

I'm wondering how many are trolls because their opinions are just so unhinged.

Well, if you want details of the inner workings of Mumsnet, they're advertising a moderator/ community manager rols at the mo - as this is something I've actually done a lot of, I'm tempted to apply, but don't think I'd last... https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/collections/recommended/?currentJobId=2818927090
I suspect they may use AI/bots to moderate at least some of the time.

I was on a thread the other day where some bullying was going on

Someone reported it and what happened was that all posts that contained the word bully/bullying were deleted regardless of context.

I made the mistake of reading the Covid Board yesterday and it felt like I’d been in a time warp and transported back to 2020 with some of the replies regarding Christmas.

I think some of them on there are:

A) Mentally Unwell/Have Severe Health Anxiety
B) Trolls
C) Government Shills

There isn’t any middle ground on that board either - you’re either a mask loving lockdown lover or a anti vaxxing conspiracy theorist.

I agree that there’s a mob mentality on there.

I think it's mostly A.
They think it's fine to inflict their personal neuroses on others.

Although I suppose most of them see it as a comfortable echo chamber.

There's no sense of personal responsibility ie working on their anxiety issues.
They just lash out at anyone that doesn't have the same problem

It's amazing to me just how afraid they all are.

Anyone else remember the thread where the OP managed to lose her ironing board in her one bedroom flat? That was a mystery that was never solved

That thread should've been 2 posts.

Post 1 - how done tuck excess shirt into jeans without it coming loose?

Post 2 - tuck shirt into knickers not jeans the elastic holds the shirt in.

I've really grown to dislike mumsnet.

I was banned from there a while ago for saying that I thought this sudden non binary trend is a load of balls. Something like 90% of the poll voters agreed with me but because a couple of the professionally offended got the hump I was booted off. Note how I was the only poster banned despite almost all of the commenters agreeing and giving their take on it, some of which were far more scathing than my OP.

I tried to sign up again a couple of times when I felt I had something constructive to add to a post or well meaning advice to give to somebody who was asking for support, only to be automatically banned again for being a 'PFB'

You're not allowed an opinion on there if it is remotely controversial. The site owners are too concerned with bad press to give a tit about the sites actual users.

Before being banned I had a separate thread in on another thread asking for support myself. I received some brilliant replies from kind posters about a very sensitive subject at a vulnerable time that was causing me alot of upset in my personal life as I didn't have anybody offline I could talk to about it. Poof went that thread though because the moderators 'had some concerns and wanted to look behind the scenes'

Er no, I wasn't a troll you mats (MN) merely a heavily pregnant woman needing advice on a forum designed to support such people.

Wankers.

I love how you’re not allowed to discuss gender but calling the resident full time parent of your partner’s children rum is pretty standard over there 😳

It’s not really about tucking in a shirt, though: it’s about letting everyone know that she’s such a teeny, slender size 8 ‘hourglass’ that normal clothes designed for us lardy types literally swamp her delicate, 18” waist. Hence the photos to demonstrate that her waist is the size of the average person’s wrist.

There’s a thread just now where someone has been fined for her husband having a sneaky fag in a B&B.

she ignores everyone who says he broke the law and picks up on everyone who has commented on her having 2 bottles of Prosecco and her Dh ordering 6 half pints of different beers Because he didn’t know which one he wanted 🙄. Now she’s shouting about the bullies on Mumsnet and she’s not paying the fine because she doesn’t have it.

that’s exactly what i thought, she has a slim waist but i see no hour glass figure she boasts of and definitely not FF cup bra 🙄

The ones who smoked in the B and B sound rough as anything (if it’s actually true of course). She should be furious with her husband for smoking in the first place. The alcohol amounts they had sounds excessive too.

I can’t find the B&B one. I can never really understand why some people go on the internet and tell such a specific story- the daily Mail love mumsnet for story pinching.
I do find there’s a lot of drinking one-up manship on MN. It’s either a bottle a night or I only drink a thimble of wine on my birthday and at Christmas. Anywhere in the middle and you’ll be told you’re drinking too much. (100% respect to the teetotallers whatever their reason).
