Where did poppy say he bit her?
It's not the 1st time is it.
Reb just laughs when poppy is naughty and she does same with bertay boy.
She's so inconsistent.
I have always been a dog lover and wants a dog for a long time.
We can't get rescue as have a young child.
Before we rented house and landlord said no.
We have freinds and family with dogs and puppies they said they gorgeous but never easy.
So her saying he's easy is a lie.
We are quite hectic term time school runs and activities lot of in and out.
We brought forward our plans for getting a puppy from end next year to now.
Some might judge but puppies born around lockdown still need a home and we will never have as much time to devote train and settle a puppy as now.
My toddler still doesn't sleep through the night.
We almost doing everything reverse of what meldrums are doing.
They like how not to be responsible pet owners.
Been researching vets. Have life time and high level of cover pet insurance.
Also getting a vet monthly plan.
Found great independent vets and groomers and signed up for online puppy training.
Finding you tube great too.
We are cage training and we don't live in mansion like meldrums but we have 2 living rooms.and fairly large house/ large fully enclosed garden.
Our rules are he's never left unattended with the kids.
He's set feed times and play times out of his cage.
He naps in cage. Is in cage overnight and eventually if we ever go out.
He's not allowed upstairs.
He sleeps in his cage or his bed.
He cannot go walks right now as needs more vaccinations.
He has set times feed and play times.
He will eventual have set time for walks.
It's all about building routine and consistency.
I mostly keep toddler one 2nd lounge watching tv as she's bit nervous with him.
The front living room is cool and quiet.
U leave tv on low keep him company and we leave him to rest or sleep in his cage and pretend we almost gone out.
Building up time he's left as last thing we want after lockdown is a clingy badly behaved dog.
As soon as lockdown ends he will have regular grooming sessions and classes.
Spent small fortune pets at home they been super helpful.
I just don't get what she does other than recklessly walk him before all his jabs.
Walk him in areas with ticks.
Not groom him and leave him unsupervised with kids.
Finding which brand of food a minefield.
We waited years we researched and we knew how much it would cost around 50 to 60 a month with pet plan and food and toys plus grooming.
We can easily afford that and paid the pet insurance up front.
I still don't think pat loves him. It was never a family decision and getting a dog is life changing for the whole family.
Safaya and Florence are still too young be left unsupervised.
I feel really sad for him all she wanted was the photo ops and attention.
She gets easily bored.
Any sheep who are experienced dog lovers must be questioning her.
Why are parents walking him if pats home.
I think bertay mist be crossed standard poodle as he's huge for a puppy.
Cockapoos are cute but they high maintaimce breed they need regularly grooming and need a lot of exercises considering they small dogs although I guess they medium sized dogs.
I'm surprised there's not more uproar about Bertie biting poppy's face tbh
poor little girl.
He's a puppy, they nip, you have to correct that behaviour. All dogs can turn though, even the best trained dogs can snap if scared/shocked.
And these 2 clowns do nothing!!
Honestly, I can see a bad accident happening and the dog been re-homed.(not his fault!)
Personally, I think getting a dog for the first time when you have young children poppy's age is madness. I'd have waited until she was a bit older and could understand more the rules and training needed in place with a dog. Especially if you happen to be a pair of selfish, lazy cocunts like the Meldrums.
I have a few freinds with puppies and small children it can work if they responsible and both committed.
Part reason we took plunge is my kids lot older senior school and upper ks2 so are responsible and will in tjme be able to walk the dog and help look after him it's defiantly a team effort of getting them involved teaching kids what to do and supervising them together.
They have large house and grounds th dog could easily have his own room to separate.
Also there's no need to go walks woods all time.
Pat is home 3 weeks at time. Plenty time go groomers or classes pre Lock down.
It's hard work having young kids and puppy I was under no illusions it's not it's like having 2 toddlers.
I fear kids safety and they will give him up.
Maybe they expected classes and grooming to be gifted and that's not happened.
