Completely agree. She shouldn't have taken on so many orders if she couldn't fulfil them so their crappy eggs arrived on time. Or used courier instead of Royal Mail. I agree with all you nusties. Many of us here clocked certain behaviours in Ron very early on (rotating ankles very quickly is an example that comes to mind). This was before he was even a year old. We were concerned but many didn’t say anything because she would have blocked at best, named and shamed more likely and set her army upon the person. So we kept it on tattle.

These observations were completely separate from our commentary on their shocking parenting… behind the sofa, limited interaction & always through a screen, routines for the gram (Whitney Houston’s I wanna dance, 2 man team), inappropriate toys both of the dangerous and age-inappropriate variety, allowing him to go into the closet and then yelling at him for it, throwing plastic poo at him, the list goes on.

Both things can be true and separate at the same time. The overlap in what may be the root cause of behaviours is like the nature nurture concept. We won’t be able to tease it out, nor should we. The likely answer is a bit of both. But they didn’t give Ron a fighting chance, did they? Inserting him in overwhelming situations for the gram and calling him naughty for being overwhelmed. It’s unforgivable to do that to a child, autism or not, diagnosed or not.

She was probably told by her HV to see a paediatrician and given an initial diagnosis - there was also the mention of sensory processing but she’s forgotten this now. Speech and language may have given targets - hence all those resources we saw for a while. Then Covid hit and wait times increased exponentially, even higher than before so they waited. Possible they went private in the end. They have known about this potential diagnosis since his sensory and speech delay diagnosis and we’re waiting for the appointment. She talks about it like she had the idea one day and got the diagnosis. It’s more likely her poor health visitor had to guide her through. No way she’d listen to a follower, she’d jump to “troll” if someone said he moved his hand differently.
