Like I say it’s the risk to pregnant women I would find more concerning, look up Monkeypox in pregnancy, it doesn’t make for good reading , also kids can’t have the Monkeypox vaccine ( as far as I’m aware) so the damage of sending kids to school with Monkeypox could be great.
Most viruses react more severely in pregnant women. It’s because their immune system is weaker which makes them more susceptible to getting sick. I don’t support kids getting a monkeypox/smallpox vaccine. I feel strongly that all children shouldn’t isolate because one person is sick, kids would never be in school if that’s the case. The sick person should stay off school - like they do with every other illness (vomit and diarrhoea/chickenpox/flu). The idea that a whole class should go into isolation as a result of one child being ill is bonkers.

Something definitely not right about it! Because you’d think it it is spread so easily at these big events too then why’ve we not seen that happen before like it is now or is it a case of we’re only reporting it now because of the coverage covid got it’s more likely to get views/sell papers.
No .I don't think it's been around on this scale before ,otherwise they'd have shared it from a public health point and had enough vaccines gathered in readiness.

Here’s all the confirmation we need 😂

Oh here we go. I heard on the radio that there is tomato flu going about in India too. What the f*** is tomato flu when it's at home? They are just making them up now 🤣
Flu or flew? Through the air with the greatest of ease.

All that talk of gene editing, maybe they gave it wings...?

I have deja vu.
Likewise but it went away after I tutted and rolled my eyes.

If it persists, there are a number of treatments, including but not limited to large mugs of cocoa, tankards of gin etc, and whilst hiding under a fluffy blanket isn't a requirement it might help.

High consumption of cat and dog meat in china too.
Nigerians eat bushmeat too. Not every Nigerian, but in certain parts of th country they eat bush rats and monkeys too. Pretty wild what goes on in certain parts of Africa or even certain African countries.

I was looking into Hadza, the hunter gatherer tribe, and due to the Maasai farmers encroaching on land that was previously hunted on by the Hadza, the Hadza tribe have started eating Baboon for their meat.

Some scientists went out there and lived their way of life for a while, and they said that baboon is ok, especially the brain, which they boil up and it has a sweetness to it. I'd try it haha.

Definitely it’s an absolute disgrace. I don’t understand who is happy to make these calls and sign off on it knowing they are risking so many peoples health!!
The article above states it may have been here undected for a few years ,STI clinics were putting it down to other conditions as they didn’t know what it was after testing for different infections 🙄 god knows how widespread it is.

2 cases in Northern Ireland now, anyone with a new sexual partner keep your eyes peeled

Yea the fact they’re offering to anyone is insane imo although I’ve never taken a vaccine in my life so I’m probably biased 😂
They’ll need to keep more than their eyes peeled 😂

The jubilee celebrations could be another superspreader event, especially with st parties and randoms bringing food .

Could this all be a knock on effect of the lockdowns and over sanitation. People did voice concers over the effect it will have on our immune systems not coming into contact with others.

The outbreaks seem to all over the place for it to be one patient zero. Or could it be passed through food coming out of Africa. They said it could pass on bedding.
If it was a Chinese style lockdown ,maybe ? but people were pretty much still mixing behind closed doors , the rate of viral illnesses were still pretty high except for flu . What food do Africa ship to the EU ? A patient zero is a possibility if they were at a superspreader event like the pride festival where people had travelled from all over ,then carry it back to their own countries .

It's still a bit vague on how spreadable it is. It goes from sexual intercourse to changing bedding as ways to catch it
You can catch it from touch, bodily fluids and breath it’s not only sexually transmitted .

Oh look a tattle thread about a virus
This is familiar 🙃🙃

Seriously though thank you for this. It's always good when people are sharing info from different sources.
It's a mystery this isn't it? It's the amount of countries seeing cases that is the most puzzling part for me
They think it may have been spread by people travelling from Pride festivals in Spain and sex saunas

I'd imagine it wouldn't take long for gum clinics to start contacting and giving a smallpox vaccine for those at risk if it did continue to grow. Far bigger issues out there. Presumably their staff will be getting a jab pretty soon.

Why does UK always get so many cases of these viruses and diseases? Covid, we get it bad, monkeypox, we seem to have more cases than most - again!

While this whole thing makes me feel quite anxious, these two paragraphs suggest to me that it is unlikely that it would be spread here unless through specific sexual behaviours which is reassuring with a boring sex life (young kids, no time 🙄) like mine!!

If they’re a close contact ( within 1mtr) yes they should isolate, this disease is containable compared to other more transmissible infections.
Ok thanks for clarifying, that’s were I disagree with you. I feel that only sick people should stay at home and they should have freedom to return when they feel better - like they do with other illnesses.

It is interesting how so many of these diseases come from Africa and Asia. Most of the worse viruses and diseases in history seem to have come from those continents. I wonder why.
Poor sanitation and close contact with wild animals. Chinese wet markets and African bush meat. A lot of the Chinese population is densely populated in places which also breeds disease.
