Omg I got ghosted after years with an awful uni boyfriend (he dropped out of his uni like 3 weeks in so was back home in London so it was all a shitshow scarcely a relationship at all really), everyone I’ve ever told the story to has cried laughing they’ve never thought it was possible but it IS! Ghosted girlfriends exist too Obvs not glad it happened to you but it does happen!!

I can laugh about it now- I might have one of his old messages on facebook.

This is the kind of fuckery I settled for only two years ago. This is after we hadn't talked for a while then I crumbled and messaged because I was lonely and pathetic . We just exchanged a few more messages before I realized I didn't trust him to just do another runner. You can grow up so much.

Noooooo that is horrific, assuming those were 7 adult years too?! That is awful! I funnily saw a lovely wedding photo of a girl I worked with who had an awful time, had a mortgage fall through and then the bf left her (which tbh was a godsend clearly?!) so she used the house money to move abroad and she just got married to someone she met there! Such a lovely ending!

for reference I don’t really mind mine as it was like 18-20 years old, it was always long distance, and tbh I almost don’t blame him because I had such a tunnel vision all I wanted was a first & a good grad scheme (got both the latter gave me serious mental health issues tho) and that probably wasn’t that fun for him. not that it excuses rudeness!! The most tragique thing is he wouldn’t even rank top 5 of awful men I’ve tried to date.

Yes please to the other thread...I’ve got what I now see as funny stories about my ex but I was so blinded at the time (Young/naive/stupid expectations). Awful sex story and potentially TMI (but makes me laugh now), we were getting down to it and the news came on in the background and announced Michael Jackson had died, he literally stopped and got out of bed to go and watch the news. He wasn’t even that much of a fan. I was mortified and should have seen that as a sign but nope, I stuck around for another year . That relationship has provided many a funny tale in hindsight but I wish I could go back and slap myself! Wonder if Clemmie has ever thought similar about going back in time and cock blocking herself?!
