I actually really liked DLAMs post, it appears honest and the talk about the gifts ads etc is really good and transparent! Would appreciate something similar from MOD!

I found the timing of this post so obvious. Like someone who has read too much Tattle and thought she should address point by point all the reasons why she’s a good insta mum while completely disassociating herself from anything that MOD stood for in the instamum community. A very ‘look at me I’m an insta mum, but I’m a different insta mum’.

That's fair enough, although that wasn't my thought. I guess I don't really see colour, when I watch that video I don't see a black man dancing I see a man dancing. And he said hype man which is actually the man behind the camera encouraging him, we don't know what colour skin he has. Id be interested to know how many POC found his post to be insulting.

I'm a Black woman and I didn't find it insulting as such. Did find it bizarre, but more because it isn't in line with his style of posts.
It was only when anyone pointed out that he has never really featured POC on his posts before that I wondered if he was trying to get a message across.
Whilst other people may have shared this viral video, he certainly doesn't usually share viral content.

I find it surprising that these women who have ACTIVELY SOUGHT OUT “celebrity” of a sort, are then surprised that no they can’t act or have the same voice that they used to. That’s what the money is for. You’ve lined your pockets and the pay off is both your privacy and your voice. Look at any “celebrity” niche and it is the same. And then suddenly the public is meant to feel sympathy that they’re rolling in cash but can’t also be an average Joe with an opinion. Nope. Yes it sucks, but it’s the nature of the beast and so SO many talented people could have made money on SM but HAVENT because they valued their privacy anonymity and voice over cold hard cash...

Poor old gousto. With their new family friendly push. It’s a little bit awkward. MODs actually never there for family meals-she’s influencing so misses dinner and bedtime, and on the weekend they eat out and she stares (tattles) on her phone. Publicly calling hubby a gif and twit is not really brand image.

On the rare occasion I’ve swiped up and tried to put something in my basket (H&m, Amazon etc) I’m not logged in so I don’t see how they can the benefit from purchase through my accounts?

Every time you look at a page on an app or website you leave a little crumb/pixel marker. Then when you visit the next page they read your markers. Only works if you have cookies turned on. I leave mine in because I am useless with passwords.

I don’t know if any one has checked out SDBHFlowers or Mutha Hood today but there is now a segment of them aligning themselves as “business women” who happen to have IG accounts to leverage their goods and support small/ women in biz... clever tactic- but they’ve already associated themselves with the drama and again, when you stop and add up EVERYTHING someone like Mutha hood gets sent (and gets to keep or gift her own children with) it’s actually absurd...

I agree. I get the small businesses supporting other small businesses and I have discovered some wonderful pages via Gemma. She has been starting to stray into influencer territory with her #gifts matalan #ads and it was disappointing that she started to use affiliate links. That’s Instahun territory rather than reputable business owner imo.

I thought it was awful that small businesses aligned themselves in this drama. I sadly unfollowed mutha.hood and diskokids as a result. Both of those brands got a lot of followers from MoD in their earlier start-up days due to shout outs and promotion from her - they quickly seem to have forgotten that very quickly. Diskokids supporting TMS and Gemma sending that embarrassingly fawning note to Candice was so unprofessional of them imo.

I don’t even like mentioning small business names on here as part of me thinks that’s not very fair but they did that themselves by bringing their allegiance into the public social media arena.

I don’t follow Steph Flowers so can’t comment on her.
