If they beamed them into the sky we could call them the Twat Signal. This thread is lasting longer than the alarm(yeah I know I have added to it..).
Hopefully we don't start getting WhatsApp messages from matt Hancock as an alert

As I said in a different reply, I doubt we'll be getting many of these alerts at all. They might at some point do another test to see if they've ironed out the issues. But in terms of "live" alerts, I'd be surprised if any person sees more than one every few years, probably for flood warnings if they do.The thing is though, is it a one off alert?
Rather then build on existing systems in place Pod. I think it is better that we should throw billions on this too.My point was this system is already in place.
I'd start practicing your helicopter rope ladder technique just in case.I just got a test alert on my phone!!! 14:21 on 2nd May.
I know! I remember years ago when conspiracy theorists were crazy (usually people in the USA I saw on tv) outsiders now I can be talking to someone totally reasonable and suddenly they will say something absolutely insane as if jt the most normal thing ever. Terrifying.Someone on Twitter last night said that war with Russia is imminent. Okay hun.
The anti vaxxers are having kittens!
The level of idiocy since the pandemic is frightening especially because these people are breeding and raising children.
My husband’s went off and mine didn’t. I’m going to join the conspiracy loons and decide it’s because he had three Covid jabs and I only had twoMine didn’t even go off. Husbands did, totally underwhelming and both of us still have intact brains![]()
Warnings have been out for weeks and months to deactivate it if you fall into them categories so I don’t get why there needs to be all this drama attached to itIt sounds like she's probably got mental health issues so it's really nice of you to make fun of her on a public forum.

Because of so many reasons already stated over and over. People with dementia, people who are neurodivergent, domestic abuse survivors who have a hidden phone, etc.
I thought people were striving to be more compassionate in the name of social justice in this day and age but I guess not.
How can anyone fail to know it was happening ?
I still have my 12 year old Nokia 100 baby. Bought it from Tesco for £11. Love that it's still going strong.I was visiting my elderly parents, neither of them knew about it. My mum asked her neighbours and again they were unaware. My dad is early dementia and my mum is exhausted and ill. The neighbours all elderly and various illnesses. These people aren't stupid, far from it. But not everyone lives on sm or rolling news and that doesn't make them anyless important. My dad started to get upset about the government scaring people. It was all a bit upsetting for a while. These people aren't crazy conspiracy theorists, like some ignorant people love to call anyone nowadays who dares to raise concerns about anything. Such a dumb mentality.
The only saving grace was that everyone involved, including me have very basic, UNSMART phones so nothing would have happened anyway.
I think it’s just attention seeking tbh. I’m sure there will be more people complaining they weren’t awareHow can anyone fail to know it was happening ?
This country is swamped with the generally unaware and the scaremongering conspiracy lot.
It doesn’t take much for our town centre to flood ,business are destroyed every time there’s torrential rain, nobody can access a sandbag let alone anything elseLocal environment agencies have been doing flood warnings for years. For the areas affected. I have lived through a few.Works quite well and doesn't involve the whole country.
Most 3G is already gone. The few remaining networks still offering it (just O2 I *think*) are supposed to be switching off by the end of the year.Apparently there’s some networks switching to 4/5 G only so older devices will be useless.
The way I see it is there are 2 different ways people react to it - those who aren’t bothered by the alerts and those who believe that it’s a controlling method by the government or some other organisation. If that lady believes in that, then that’s her choice. Doesn’t mean she’s mentally ill like someone else said. I could apply similar logic to religion…I’ve just been on my area’s Nextdoor app. There’s a lady on there who advised people to take the SIM out of their phone, turn it off, then wrap in tinfoil and put it in the microwave. She also suggested a Faraday cage (I knew the one I stashed under the sink would come in useful one day).
She was deadly serious and delighted when a couple of others smuggly joined in because “they are the ones who know what really going on”. I’d hate to live my life in perpetual fear of perceived threat.
I’ve just told someone who didn’t get it that they were being singled out as the first ones to be abducted by aliensI think it’s just attention seeking tbh. I’m sure there will be more people complaining they weren’t aware
