She bought the office outfits when she was telling everyone she was going to get a promotion. She applied then i think they actively encouraged other internal applicants after she did this (which says a lot) and they employed her colleague. She set herself up for a massive fall. Not for applying for the job but by oversharing, she thought it was in the bag and then she'd created a situation where she had to share her disappointment with everyone when she wasn't selectedDid she stop going to the office? At one point she was due back, and consequently bought a whole load of office outfits. It would do her good to go back in, I don't love the office but I do see the value in going in and interacting with those not just in the immediate groups I speak to when WFH.
She did say she was going to make an effort to leave the house and socialise more this year which has got to be a good thing. For the last couple of years she's interacted in person with such a small group of people (she doesn't get out the car for school run etc) and spent way way too long talking too/about herself, totally over focused on aspects of her health (the neck problem etc) whilst neglecting the glaringly obvious (to us outsiders looking in) issues.
Kinda serves her right for only doing her application presentation the night before. She shares way too moch. Her managers would see that and swerve her.She bought the office outfits when she was telling everyone she was going to get a promotion.
